Has anyone driven to Detroit Metro lately?

Our AAA lady was telling us horror stories of the construction on I-94 from Ann Arbor all the way past the airport. In fact she said she went past the airport exit because of all the congestion!!

Has anyone been on 94 recently who can give me a construction report? We will need to be at the airport around 11:30 this Thursday. We're coming from the Battle Creek area.

We were on I-94 2 saturdays ago, we got on at Merriman right at the airport and went west to exit 157 pierce rd. and the back up was terrible on both sides. THey were down to one lane for about 2-3 miles. It was the same on the way back also.

BUT, two days ago on the same stretch, The barrels were up on the sides but there was no work or delays going on traffic was moving fine, They are working on one bridge somewhere between ann arbor and the airport so it does go down to one lane for a short stretch.

I would plan to leave early.

94 is pretty bad in the Ann Arbor area, they've got it down to 1 lane at the State Street and Ann Arbor-Saline exits for bridge work. If you get on 94 from US-23, then you'll be east of the construction. I believe there is some minor bridge work going on a bit farther to the east, but relatively minor (at least the last time I drove to/from Metro, which was in mid/late may)
