Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Here is my trick for transferring my artwork to the bands...
First, I apply my base coats of nail polish.
Next, I draw the picture on white tissue paper (the kind you use in a gift bag) with a pencil.
Once drawn, I trace back over it to be sure it is as dark as possible.
Then I turn the paper over, position it where I want it on the band, and rub over the entire thing to transfer the drawing to the band.
Then I paint it with acrylics or nail polish.
I should have tried that! I drew on it with a black pen, then changed my mind about a line and just painted over, but the black showed through.

Here are my first three bands!

Band 1, DH, his SWW band. I painted a white rectangle up top and then a Star Wars tattoo that I had to touch up with paint.

Band 2, my Niece who is a Sophomore at Texas Tech. She also just went on her first cruise and swam with the dolphins so I hand
drew and painted a dolphin on the side:

Band 3:
Mine. I filled the holes in with cotton. Sealed the underside with superglue (that got messy) Base coat over the cotton a couple of layers then sanded with an emory board. Then painted white and two Pooh tattoos. Pooh and balloons and a bee hive:

The reverse side I painted with acrylics the whole thing a motled background. Then I traced Tinker on. As I did her legs I decided her proportions were wrong and lengthened her legs then I needed to lengthen her skirt, but you can clearly see her shorter skirt under. No amount of green would hide it.
Oh well, I am pleased for a first tinker bell:

I don't think her skirt looks bad, just like she added some extra pouf that day :) Good job!

Can you tell me the brand name of the spray sealer you like? DH did this movie strip band and used a combination of acrylic paint, nail polish, and sharpies. Ugh. I love the band but it desperately needs to be sealed before he wears it.

I LOVE the GD Steal Your Face one! I was hoping for mail order tix to the shows in july (it'll be just after returning from DW for our first trip- what an awesome summer that would make) but alas...

Since I don't have any artistic skill, I was thinking of going the duct tape route since I've seen a few that I liked and then using a permanent marker for Mickey's head. Anybody have any tips or suggestions on using duct tape on their Magic Bands and would I need to put a coat of anything on top?

We used Star Wars duct tape for my dad's band when we went in November. I would use an exacto or a razor to trim it and them use your nail to tuck it into the gap on the bands. We didn't need to seal his with anything, though we didn't do any water rides or anything.

so my magic bands are coming in soon and I'm changing the color of one of them and adding sparkles. How many layers do you guys typically paint? Also using nail polish I'm definitely using a top coat but should I use a bottom coat? And how do you guys make it so neat where the holes are and around the edges?

I'm so happy to finally be able to post photos of my magic band. I cannot draw at all so I went with stickers. I love the way it turned out.

I know this is an older post but could you tell me where you were able to purchase the Tardis stickers? I can't seem to be able to find any that are small enough.

Def want a sharp knife. I did DD's last band with the frozen duct tape. The scissors I used were not sharp enough and ended up curling the edges a bit. No biggie. I just made sure to press it down every now and then.

Didn't coat it. Lasted thru our 5 day trip but we did not go swimming with it.

Here are 4 pretty simple ones that I decorated last night. It's not my best work but they will do. I'm still stuck on what to do for my husband's band.

I absolutely love the grey one!

I decided to get a little creative with my MB for our trip next week. I wanted something sparkly and girly, without being over-the-top. I'm also dressing up as Elastigirl for the Frozen Family 5K, and then Snow White for the Princess Half Marathon, so I wanted something that would work with both outfits.

I got the gems at Michael's (have plenty more leftover in other colors for future trips, lol), which I affixed with E6000 glue. Then I put on a base coat of nail polish, followed by one coat of Nicole by OPI nail polish in A Heart of Gold (I also created the tiny Mickey ears on the side of the band with this by dropping a dollop of the gold nail polish there and letting it dry). I topped it off with a coat of Dior Nail Glow, which has the added benefit of it glowing in blacklight. :) The top coat feels really secure over the glitter polish, so I don't think I'll need to worry about it flaking off. I like that from a distance it looks red, but in direct light it shines gold. I was worried it would be gold-overload, but since I stuck to just one coat of the gold polish, it doesn't look too flashy.

I got them at Zazzle. I bought the smaller size which comes on a white background, then I just trimmed them. I had a hard time finding any Tardis stickers at all.

These are great! This is exactly what I was hoping to do. I want simple so I can't mess them up! Can you explain how you did these? Thanks!! I'm looking especially at the Belle and Ariel ones. My DS will want specific characters on his.

I've seen a design I like online but can't find it anywhere to buy. It looks like a swirling flourish with maybe little flowers or leaves. I could probably have my sister cut it out of vinyl for me, which may work well. I've also seen some scrapbooking rub-ons that I really like. Has anyone used scrapbooking rub-ons? Did they work well?
