Tonight we are having steak and baked potatoes. Now that we are getting older and eating less, we can afford a small sized, good cut of steak. I think this is a rib eye. The potatoes are small, about the size of golf balls, so not sure how long to bake them. We'll probably have salad or broccoli, too.
Tonight & tomorrow night we're having chicken w/ brown rice over black beans. I may add an extra side tomorrow night, just to have something a little different.
We leave on our anniversary cruise on Sunday. I expect tomorrow to be crazy busy getting everything ready to go & don't want to have to worry about what's for dinner.
I made caramel apple cheesecake bars for a party we are going to tomorrow and it took way longer than I planned. I tossed some premade and frozen chicken tenders in the oven with tator tots. My corn and potato chowder plan fell apart.

My young granddaughter is supposed to make a 3-lb meat loaf tonight, but I don't think she realizes how long that will take to bake. I have a feeling we'll be having individual loaves. She's also making mashed potatoes (no gravy) and cornbread. Strange combination but I'm happy she's interested in cooking. It will be an interesting meal.

The fridges in France are often much much smaller than those in the USA so there is less “hunting” and more finding leftovers. Tonight it was the end of the smoked fish with roasted zucchini on a green salad with capers and lemon as the dressing. Finished the bottle of cider with some pear slices and yogurt.
It’s official-the fridge is empty of all but a few condiments.
I think I’ll go up to Paris tomorrow if my SIL is available; time will tell.
Happy anniversary @tarheelmjfan and may you have many more!
It’s still early on this end and we should be pulling into the train station in the next 15 minutes or so. One of N.’s daughters is coming over so she is in charge of providing the meal for us. It’s Saturday so my guess is much of our meal will be prepped and purchased at the market. That just leaves more time to talk with N. which is fine by me.
I’ll fill youse in on what we ate later- time differences make for confusion
