Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I used a fine point Sharpie to outline the Mickey head. Much easier and cleaner look.

I glopped paint all over the place. I read earlier in the thread that you could just paint it messy and then wipe nail polish remover over it and the paint would stay in the crevice and disappear from outside the crevice. I was skeptical ;) but it worked perfectly! I wanted mine to be white so I used a French manicure pen to get it down in there really well!

odd question... What is the underside of the band? Is it rubber or plastic? My son is very sensitive to certain materials so I'm almost thinking of someway to cover the bottom after decorating the top. Anyone tried this before?

The underside of the magic band is a soft rubber, just like the outside.

(not my pic)

I have a metal allergy as well, and my magic band never bothered my skin, even after running 13.1 in this year's Princess Half Marathon.

Anyone had any updates on if the duck tape holds up?

I know someone previously used the blue floral duct tape and she reported that it worked well. I used the stickers from DVC Central (similar concept to the duct tape) and put 3 basecoats of nail polish over top of them. I wanted to seal the edges so water couldn't get under them. We had 2 days of torrential rain and 3 days of full swimming with the bands on and they held up great! I will say, we've been home for a week now and I went to put my MB in my organizing kit of Disney supplies and the nail polish basecoat was peeling off. I painted them a couple days before we left, so it looks as though the polish seal only held up for a couple weeks.

I would like to know this as well. I was planning on using my Cricut to cut vinyl disney shapes and apply them to the band, but wondering if I should do a base and top coat. Does anyone have any experience with this?

No but that is a really great idea!

That is a really fantastic idea. I want to outline and white so it needs to be opaque. The Sharpie paint pens are oil based and there is a fine point one.

Good thing I work at a craft store. Lol

I saw somewhere today (and of course I can't find it now) that Disney had sent DVC Central a cease and desist letter telling them they couldn't make the magic band stickers anymore.

This is awesome! Snow White is my favorite too. Are you using a base coat? what kind of paint are you using and how are you planning on sealing it? if you don't mind me asking.

I did not use a base coat and haven't sealed it yet. I am going to try clear nail polish once I let them sit for a night or two. :)

I've seen a few people say that they didn't use the base coat over and the vinyl held up perfectly by itself.

I'm assuming that they were probably told to stop selling anything with Disney Intellectual property because they are still there but I don't see anything with Disney stuff on it.

They just took all of their Disney products down today.

Wow!!! Even though there wasn't anything specifically Disney, just items that were colored similarly to different characters? I think maybe there were a couple ride or race ones that were pushing it a little, but the ones I bought weren't character specific at all.
