Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Ok been following this thread almost since it's inseption. Finally getting our MB in a few weeks. Added 2 more nights on at a different resort so now I get 2 sets of bands to decorate. YAY. Amazingly I have even already decided how to decorate them. So many great ideas out there.

My ? to you pro's is about the Mickey Head and the readers. Do the Mickey Heads on the MB need to be the same direction as the Mickey Head on the readers? I hear most readers are on your left side so if I wear my MB on my left arm do I have to wear it so when I'm viewing the Mickey head (turning my wrist as if looking at a watch) it's upside down?

Hope that ? makes sense. TYIA

No, they do not have to match up.

The color of the band itself still came through and the tattoos were not very vibrant in color.

Oddly enough that's the effect I'm going for. :) Blue tattoo on green band.

So I'm planning my two sets. A question - I'd like to make my blue one stay blue but with glitter and glow in the dark. Is there a nail polish that can do that, or should I get one of each? If anyone has recommended brands I'd love to know what they are. Thank you!

I tried putting a base coat and tattoos on my band yesterday. The color of the band itself still came through and the tattoos were not very vibrant in color. I had to scrub using nail polish remover to get them off. It did take the original sheen and finish off the band, but not the color. Frustrating.

See post #1537, that is my post and success with getting tattoo with vibrant color. Hope it works for you.

I bought clear glittery glow in the dark nail polish at Justice.

So I have been looking online for a good template of a MB so I can start sketching out what I want. I can't find a good one. Does anyone know of one or would someone be willing to trace theirs out and post it as a pdf so it could be printed... Odd question I know but I am a perfectionist and I just want to see exactly how much space I have to play with.

I can't see post #s. Are they visible on Web? I'm on app.

Yes on the web, they are on the top right above every post. Below is what was posted.
For those of you who are doing tattoos and want the images brighter instead of fading into the color in the background(although I think those are the best). I used the method described in post #1420. Got a plastic bag, applied basecoat bigger than my tattoo, let dry, then applied tattoo to the basecoat, slowly peeled the basecoat from the bag, turned it over and painted with a very thin coat of white acrylic paint and filled in the tattoo area being careful not to paint outside the lines. Let dry then apply base coat to band and immediately place the tattoo on it so it will stick. The colors are as bright as when they were on the packaging. It takes a little time but seemed to work out great.

I was placing my tattoo on black so it basically would have disappeared, but the colors popped with the white backing. See below jaguar logo.

I found the cutest vintage-looking Disney Princess duct tape, and my daughter loves how her band looks wrapped in it. I'm just worried that it is too thick to still work with the scanner. Has anyone tried it?
TIA!

People have put rhinestones and all sorts of things over their bands with no problem. I'm sure duct tape won't be an issue

Is Justice the brand or store name? If it's the store, do you remember the brand name, as I'm pretty sure I can't get to your store.

Thanks so much!

Oops, I just found Justice, a mall store here. So do you remember - was it in a kit? If so which one?

Thanks again, there's no store right near me but some are close enough to get to soon.

Yes, it was the store Justice for girls. It was not in a kit, just in a bin with other colors of polish. Good luck!

My daughter wanted a girl minion...

If we are going to use vinyl stickers would you do a base coat and top coats or just leave the outdoor vinyl as is? Thanks

I would like to know this as well. I was planning on using my Cricut to cut vinyl disney shapes and apply them to the band, but wondering if I should do a base and top coat. Does anyone have any experience with this?

For those that outlined the Mickey head, how do you do it in the crevice without glopping paint all over the place?

Does base/top coat logic still apply here? If so, same question above.

At least one band the outline nay be the sole adornment, so base/top on the whole band seems excessive.

I used a fine point Sharpie to outline the Mickey head. Much easier and cleaner look.

This one is mine. I don't know how well it shows up in the picture but I used sparkle paint on the castle spires and glitter nail polish on the grass area and for Tink's pixie dust.

This is just spectacular. If you decide you want to earn a bit of extra money for your next Disney trip let me know - I'd gladly send you my band as I'd love to see what you could do with Maleficent!
