So what abou t using modge Podge over stickers instead of the clear nail polish. have anyone used stickers? what kind of paint are you using?4
Acrylic paint. Still needs a top coat but I'm not sure I'm completely done tweaking it yet.
Painted an Aurora the Sleeping Beauty band this morning with a rose as the small mickey head... Products of far too much caffeine. Acrylic free hand on band. Waiting for it to dry in order to seal them.

This is my 4th magicband, so I decided to try out nail tattoos (I've used sharpies, nail polish, and superglued crystals in the past). What I love about the tattoos is there is no need to artistic talent, and that's a HUGE plus for me! I'm so impressed with all of the fantastic artists on this thread, but if I tried that, I would make a huge mess! These took 45 minutes, tops, with two coats of clear top coat.
DS wanted a beach theme / seashells on his, so he picked out the nail tattoo kit I used for his. Mine uses one set of Disney Fairy tattoos and a set of floral tattoos I found at the grocery store. Best of all, nail tatoo sets both in retail stores and on eBay are so inexpensive! We have an upcoming Mommy/son trip, and can wait to wear these!
Thanks to everyone on this thread that gave me inspiration to try out the tattoos!

Don't sell yourself short...I think there is artistry involved in placement, and you did a great job! They are both really cute.
Beautifully done! Just to confirm, you painted these with nail polish first before putting the tattoos on?

This might be a totally silly question, but when doing clear coats of nail polish, doesn't the polish settle into the sizing holes? Do you poke it out after it dries? Before it dries? Just wonderingI was all set to do tattoos and then I saw a sticker on DVC Central with pink alligators that looks like Lacoste and I LOVE Lacoste, so I'm not sure if I might just do the sticker now

Phenominal use of tattoos! I love them, the beach one is great.

Wow! That is so gorgeous!
Wonderful - great job!!
Very awesome!! Is the glitter acrylic as well?
I was so inspired by all the bands, I decided to take our bands from our last trip and experiment! We have another set coming for our May trip, so if I mess these up, it will not be the end of the world. I used a Migi Nail art kit (ads on TV all the time) that someone got me as a Christmas present. They worked really well for the details.
One thing to note: I had seen that mistakes were removed easily with nail polish remover - not entirely true. The color of the band and the color of the polish comes into play here. I was not able to completely remove the red from my yellow band, and I figure black is probably the same. So use caution with darker colors on lighter bands if you have to remove the polish!
I love Animal, so I chose him as my first attempt. Sorry for the glare, I had to use my flash.
