There is a decoupage band somewhere right near the beginning of the thread. It's a super cute one. I'm not sure if the poster ever updated about how it held up though.

So I've been trying to find Glow in the Dark nail polish, and it became a personal mission. After reading about the Pure Ice shade, I checked three different Wal Marts and found zilch.

Finally, four days before our trip, my wife found some at H&M today. It goes on "clear" (multiple coats turn cloudy with a yellow tint). It also reacts to both darkness and UV light.

We'll be adding a single coat over our glitter/shiny Mickey heads (we tested it with the matte finish and they didn't play well together so the tattoo portions will not get it) and I'm debating using it on the outer grey band on mine.

Painted an Aurora the Sleeping Beauty band this morning with a rose as the small mickey head... Products of far too much caffeine. Acrylic free hand on band. Waiting for it to dry in order to seal them.

This is my 4th magicband, so I decided to try out nail tattoos (I've used sharpies, nail polish, and superglued crystals in the past). What I love about the tattoos is there is no need to artistic talent, and that's a HUGE plus for me! I'm so impressed with all of the fantastic artists on this thread, but if I tried that, I would make a huge mess! These took 45 minutes, tops, with two coats of clear top coat.

DS wanted a beach theme / seashells on his, so he picked out the nail tattoo kit I used for his. Mine uses one set of Disney Fairy tattoos and a set of floral tattoos I found at the grocery store. Best of all, nail tatoo sets both in retail stores and on eBay are so inexpensive! We have an upcoming Mommy/son trip, and can wait to wear these!

Thanks to everyone on this thread that gave me inspiration to try out the tattoos!

Don't sell yourself short...I think there is artistry involved in placement, and you did a great job! They are both really cute.

Beautifully done! Just to confirm, you painted these with nail polish first before putting the tattoos on?

Thank you! You are very kind. It was fun to do as well!

Yes, one coat of clear top coat at first, then the tatooos. I also found that it was best to make the coast really really thin and then do more than one coat.

This might be a totally silly question, but when doing clear coats of nail polish, doesn't the polish settle into the sizing holes? Do you poke it out after it dries? Before it dries? Just wondering :) I was all set to do tattoos and then I saw a sticker on DVC Central with pink alligators that looks like Lacoste and I LOVE Lacoste, so I'm not sure if I might just do the sticker now ;)

Here are my latest for wife and son. One more left to do before trip and not sure what I'm going to do...decisions decisions.

These are great too! Can't wait to see what you will come up with for the last one left.

I keep coming up with ideas, but it is hard to decide what to do. I told my husband that he needs to let me do something to his boring band, and I warned him that I will likely buy more bands to decorate. lol

If you put on thin coats of clear top coat, it really doesn't settle into the holes at all, so that wasn't a problem for me. The sticker on DVC Central are really cute too!

Oh my goodness, you are so talented, I love this one!!! Fabulous job!

Phenominal use of tattoos! I love them, the beach one is great.

These are gorgeous! Jealous of your painting skills as always :]

Wow! That is so gorgeous!

Wonderful - great job!!

Very awesome!! Is the glitter acrylic as well?

Thank you all! And Wayne, yes the glitter I use is also acrylic paint. I use a base colour of acrylic in the corresponding colour of the glitter to make it a better finish in the end. The gold is "Craft Twinkles" which I quite like to use as an obvious glitter coat. The glitter is a larger size suspended in a clear acrylic. The dress also contains white glitter within it, but that is more of a white paint containing glitter than strictly glitter.

I was so inspired by all the bands, I decided to take our bands from our last trip and experiment! We have another set coming for our May trip, so if I mess these up, it will not be the end of the world. I used a Migi Nail art kit (ads on TV all the time) that someone got me as a Christmas present. They worked really well for the details.

One thing to note: I had seen that mistakes were removed easily with nail polish remover - not entirely true. The color of the band and the color of the polish comes into play here. I was not able to completely remove the red from my yellow band, and I figure black is probably the same. So use caution with darker colors on lighter bands if you have to remove the polish!

I love Animal, so I chose him as my first attempt. Sorry for the glare, I had to use my flash.

I love this one! How long did it take?
