I'm happy with the band in the end. But if anyone knows what I did wrong I would love to know!
I accidentally ended up with a Minnie Mouse band!

I finished it off with a layer of base-coat and some sparkles over the Mickey head. So I suppose all's well that ends well. I'm happy with the band in the end. But if anyone knows what I did wrong I would love to know!
We have superglued our gems/rhinestones onto our bands.... Do we now seal it with base coat...or just leave it alone
Also do you put the glow in the dark nail polish on the base coat or base coat then glow in the dark
We did the same thing. We managed to keep the Tree of Life the entire 10 days the others were long gone. I think they are super cute but they need to fix the design somehow.
Let me start by saying that decorating my band did NOT go as planned. It turned out okay in the end but not before I almost had a nervous breakdown!
After flip-flopping ideas for the past 8 months or so, I finally decided I wanted to do bright stripes on my magic band. I went to CVS and found the colors I wanted, and it happened to be some of the cheapest polish they had.

I'm not really sure where I went wrong. Maybe because the polish was cheap? Maybe because I didn't do a base coat first? Hopefully someone can identify what I did wrong so people can learn from my mistakes
I used painter's tape to protect the gray border and to help me line up my stripes. That part worked really well. I got nice neat lines.

At this point I had done my blue and purple stripes:

Before I even completely finished I knew I didn't like it. I finished it anyway just to see what it would look like finished but I had already decided I would take the polish off and try using some of my Essie colors instead. The colors just didn't look the same on top of my pink band as they did in the bottles and the polish was puffy and looked like it would peel off at any moment. I figured it was no big deal to start over since others had no problem using nail polish remover and starting again....

I had a really hard time getting the polish off. I went through probably six cotton balls of nail polish remover. When I got off as much as I could, the band was no longer pink but an ugly faded/stained peach-like color that just looked dirty. I could still see the faded stripes and my band looked like garbage. Cue panic attack.

I knew I'd need something dark to cover this mess, so I chose one of my favorite dark-pink Essie colors and slathered three coats on top. It covered pretty well, but I could still see some lines underneath from the stripes so I decided to do white dots on top to distract from the stripes. And what do you know-- I accidentally ended up with a Minnie Mouse band!

I can't tell you how many hours i've spent looking at this thread and pouting.I live in Canada and our bands are not shipped across the border (that makes me giggle -- the thought of a poor magic band standing at customs
) There is no way i'll have the time to create anything before we hit the parks.
Fast forward many days and i came up with a great solution. Someone mentioned making fabric covers and using iron transfers. SO i googled our fav images, Donald for me and Pluto for the hubby. Picked a few of Figment and a couple Hallowe'en as well. Spent a few hours today creating a document that i'm going to print out on transfer sheets. Iron them onto some comfy fabric and PRESTO slip those bad-boys on and we're off to the races. Added bonus, hubby's hairy arm won't get all sweaty![]()
ok so here are my magic bands. For dopey I had to print my own tattoo. i had to buy special paper to do this but am very happy with the results. Dopey is my favorite character so of course he is who I wanted on my magic band here are the 7 of the 10 i still have some to do. I find the girls bands easier to decorate as we can use more items to our advantage.

He turned out great! My husband has been hesitant to decorate his or to let me decorate his, but I think seeing how nice your Dopey turned out has given him some ideas about making his own tattoos to make himself a Goofy band.
