Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

When painting using nail polish and nail glitter on the MB, do you paint it laid out flat or closed like how you would wear it. THanks for your help! I love all of the ideas posted here.

25 days and counting!

Love the look of the tattoos on the MBs. I also love all the beautifully hand painted MBs. But I know my weaknesses and one of them is definitely painting.

Anyhow, what are the best MB colors for certain tattoos? I love Cinderella on pink, that's gorgeous! And the tattoos really seem to pop off of the yellow MBs. I'm thinking grey was good for the Avengers. But, my 4 YO is going to be so excited if I made hers Elsa. What color MB does Elsa pop off? Or what color MB is best for painting a light purple on? TIA :flower3:

I paint them opened, but not out totally flat. It's easiest to hold them that way while you paint.

Have fun decorating!

Just discovered that you can decorate the Magic Bands. I'm so inspired by all of you! Question...Does the acrylic paint sealed with nail top coat hold up as well as the nail polish/top coat? I'm use to using acrylics. I don't want to mess up when we finally get our bands in September. I'm also a bit of a perfectionist with my "art". I'd hate if it looks cracked or chipped. Thanks. :)

Just wanted to update for anyone else who purchased the 'stickers' from DVC Central. We've been here for a week now and mine have held up perfectly through 2 torrential rain storms and 3 pool days of full swimming!! I did put two coats of base coat over top of the stickers and tried to be sure to seal the edges.

I wanted to know!!! also wondering IF i were to put a simple coat with polka dots then put the 'sticker' over that for a day would the sticker stick?

I recently saw a blue band with the Frozen characters and it looked great. I think pink is the most recommended if you are going to paint it purple. Good luck, let us know how they turn out!

So you want to paint your band with dots and just put a sticker over the dots for one day and then take it off? I know when I pulled mine off to reapply it straighter it left a little residue that I had to pick off, so I don't know if that would mess up your dots? I got the pink gators and have had so many compliments! I was surprised that we didn't see any decorated bands other than ones with the Disney sliders or jibbitz type things.

I'm having a band painting marathon today.

I'm loving all your designs! Can't wait to decorate ours in September. Think I'm going to play off the background color.
Please let me know how the acrylic holds up. I've got tons of paint and not so much nail polish. Thanks. :)

The bands that you all have made are AMAZINg. I'm in awe reading this thread (still only on page 50!).
I have a question though, I'm wanting to leave the bands their original colour (we're from the UK so we don't get ours shipped to our home, and I don't want to spend a long time doing them once there), and just paint the Mickey head a different colour because I think that's simple yet effective.
Ok on to the question lol, how many coats do you all do for the Mickey head? And then cover it in a top coat?

Everyone is so talented! I love this thread.

I have 2 trips coming up that will result in 3 more magic bands (don't ask, haha!), plus I'm an Annual Passholder, so I figure it's a great reason to decorate some magic bands! I have 2 from previous trips and decided to use them as practice. Here is my first go at it!

One of my ideas for an upcoming band is a Tower of Terror theme. There is a pair of Mickey Ears that has lightning bolts on the ears and a bellhop hat/outfit for the hat part. I am thinking of doing a lightning bolt over the mickey and then the bellhop stripes on the band pieces, so here is my first go at a lightning bolt. I think it works pretty well. Will work even better on a yellow band!

Inspired by this awesome thread, my DDs and I decided to surprise the rest of the party by decorating our MBs. We did mine w a Little Mermaid theme, DD8 w a Frozen theme, DD 13 did her own-a snow white dress! We did my brother's University of Miami, and my dad's Michigan State. Now I need help. I need ideas for my mom and DS (4). He is a Frozen and Brother Bear fan. My mom is just happy to go to Disney. They both have yellow bands. TIA

My DS is a frozen fan too. I would do Olaf ( In Summer)for your son and you can't go wrong with any of the Fab 5 for your mom. Maybe do Pluto since it's a yellow band?

YES!! That is exactly what i wanted to do!!! hummmm. I am getting two different set of bands maybe i will pain one and do the stickers for the others!

Really? With all these WONDERFUL ideas here i am shocked there weren't more people doing it!

My DS had, had, HAD to have an Elsa shirt. The only one we could find pre-trip is pink!! :rotfl: Luckily the ex is ok with that. I will try an Olaf one, maybe with a sunshine and beach! Wishing I had gotten him blue now. Oh well, just an excuse for another trip.

Love the Fab 5 idea, and I actually tried Pluto last night.....lets just say it looked like a pile of poo!:rotfl2:

I hope this is the right place to ask, but, I HATE the feel of those rubber bracelets that were so popular a few years back (livestrong etc).
I hate that rubber!
Does the magic band feel like that?
If so, I may make a cover.

Any tips on keeping a cover in place?
Anyone just cover the inside with something?

Is it textured or smooth inside?
I read that the outer border comes off. If so, is the inner feel different? My wrists are small.
If it separates, maybe I could cover/coat the part that touches me, and then replace? Maybe duct tape if it's smooth.

Anyway.
Ideas welcome.

You know another idea for a shirt for him is to find an image on line and then print it on transfer paper and iron it on a shirt . That is if you would like something different then pink. My son wouldn't wear pink but he's 8 . :rotfl: Sorry about the Pluto band.:(
