Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

My DS had, had, HAD to have an Elsa shirt. The only one we could find pre-trip is pink!! :rotfl: Luckily the ex is ok with that. I will try an Olaf one, maybe with a sunshine and beach! Wishing I had gotten him blue now. Oh well, just an excuse for another trip.

Love the Fab 5 idea, and I actually tried Pluto last night.....lets just say it looked like a pile of poo!:rotfl2:

At the park the other day I saw a little boy with a homemade Olaf shirt. It was a plain white tee and it had 3 large felt circles down the front. I thought it was cute. You could make it a little more creative by writing on it with fabric paint saying one of Olaf's quotes.

I hope this is the right place to ask, but, I HATE the feel of those rubber bracelets that were so popular a few years back (livestrong etc). I hate that rubber! Does the magic band feel like that? If so, I may make a cover. Any tips on keeping a cover in place? Anyone just cover the inside with something? Is it textured or smooth inside? I read that the outer border comes off. If so, is the inner feel different? My wrists are small. If it separates, maybe I could cover/coat the part that touches me, and then replace? Maybe duct tape if it's smooth. Anyway. Ideas welcome.

I have no idea how the bands feel, as we haven't gotten ours yet, but you could use athletic tape on the underside of the band. The athletic tape has a fabric (cotton) feel to it, that would at least keep the plastic off of your skin, and it comes in tons of colors, you could probably match it to your band.

When you peel off the grey part, only the outside edge comes off. The backing does not come off with it, except the perimeter part that you are removing. The back stays grey.

The outside (colored) part of the band feels a little like a live strong band but the inside is kind of smoother (not as rubbery to me if that makes any sense). The inside reminds me of the inside of a plastic watch band (like the kind you might buy for a child somewhere like Walmart).

You could also attach your magic band to a backpack strap (or similar) so that it's close at hand but not on your wrist. I didn't like the way the magic band felt if I sized it like a watch, but when I put it on a few sizes larger I barely noticed it. I did cut off the end of the band several notches from the end so there wouldn't be as much overlapping extra band inside.

Just our general experience: when we peeled off the grey part, the remaining colored band had an ugly, jagged, scraggly, janky-looking border of the remaining grey plastic that we haven't figured out how to remove. Maybe someone has tips on that! Until then I'll be leaving the grey on and just cutting the extra "holes" off at the end as I mentioned above.

I have no problem having him wear pink. I don't need any help coming up with crazy, time consuming ideas to make for Disney. pixiedust:

I think the magic bands feel like a cheap watch. I often wear them on my bag or ny waistband after park entry.

I used fine grit sandpaper to take those barbs off for my kids. It worked great and didn't mess up the band at all. Made it very smooth.

I won't get my bands until check-in since they won't ship them across the border. Soooo, I'm using iron-on transfers and images i have googled (donald, pluto, figment, olaf ...) and stuck them on bits of fabric i had lying around.Gonna buy some glow-in-the-dark stuff for Halloween

Not sure about posting links to other websites but heck it's easier than trying to explain it :rotfl2:

I usually have a watch or something else on so most often just carried the band in my bag. Bulkier than a pass or KTTW card but just as good of spot for it. ;)

This one is mine. I don't know how well it shows up in the picture but I used sparkle paint on the castle spires and glitter nail polish on the grass area and for Tink's pixie dust.

That is truly amazing! How long does it take you on average for each band?

This one is by far my very favorite! I love the castle and wanted badly to decorate my band with the castle and fireworks, but there is no way I am artistic enough and I know I would mess it up. Great job!

Oh wow - this is fantastic. You are very artistic. What did you use to paint the castle?

That's why you are then going to morph your efforts into doing some fabric covers and rocking them out for us to see. Love your bands, always amazed by the details.

Thanks! I think your idea is a better one than my DSIS who told me last night I just need to keep planning more trips. :rotfl::rotfl:

I know you posted about the fabric covers when your posted your awesome Jack band. I'll have to go back and check it out once we return from our trip.

Ok I have finally finished our bands!! Here are the pics....

I know this is wicked late, but may I ask where you got your Red Sox decals? I've been looking EVERYWHERE, and have found NOTHING that would work. My bf and I are die-hard BoSox fans, and I would kill to have our magic bands be Red Sox-themed. :)

Thanks. I'm not sure, probably 3-4 hours. Right now my kitchen looks like a magic band bomb went off. Haha. I have a few bands going at the same time. I'm going to be sad when they are all done.

That one is stunning!!
When you are done with yours, people could just have their Magic Bands shipped straight to you! :artist:

Someone asked up thread wha to do with the edges after you take the grey part off....I used an emery board. That seemed to work!

Has anyone cut off the extra gray part because it was too long? I use the first gray hole to close mine so I can't take the gray part off completely but the extra part wraps halfway around my wrist. I'm afraid if I cut it, it will have sharp edges and irritate me.
