Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I bought my vinyl stickers from DVC Central. I got four monorail colors and a Chip and Dale one for my little guy. They are very cute.....I don't have my bands yet, but I can't wait to get them. I ordered a red band and plan to do white nail polish polka dots for a Minnie look, but the CoverBands are removable, so I can do both :)

Thank you so much! This has the Mary Poppins decal listed.

SRUAlm, thank you also for the link, but the seller isn't doing any right now and I need to order soon.

Goin again! Thank you for the link.

Again, thank you for the information.

I have both Mickey and Minnie duct tape from a previous project. I would love to use them, but I'm worried about the pool. Has anyone worn their "duct tape" bands in a pool? Did it stay on?

Now I know why I had a hard time finding the decals on etsy. Disney is coming down hard on one of the sellers.

I've seen a few magic bands painted on etsy, you send them your band and they do art on it, I wonder why that is okay, but a graphic artist doing it on the computer isn't?

Would I get in trouble at the Disney park if I get my hubby to paint the bands with Micky and Minnie on ours?

Things that look hand done are ok because you could have done it yourself. However, using Disney images (including the Disney font) without a license from Disney... and then profiting from them (i.e. Selling them) is copyright infringement and therefore illegal.

So say I was to figure a way to hand draw a coverband sticker with a Disney picture on for a Magic band and sell it would that be infringement? I see lots of shoes and painted purses people make on etsy so I'm not understanding what the difference would be.

It depends on how close to the original it looks. Artwork that pays homage can sometimes be ok. It's kind of a grey area. And just because you see it out there doesn't mean it's not illegal. They just haven't gotten caught yet or the company didn't want to make the effort to stop them.

Ahh OK I see... I saw the DVC cover bands and they don't have actual characters on them just their colors and similar theme... I was hoping to figure out a way to hand draw cover band stickers but don't want to deal with the mess of copyrights so I might just have to go for my own personal use lol

Wonderful work! My head is spinning with ideas!!!! I have 44 days before my magic bands are scheduled to be sent out - just enough time to finalize ideas and get my supplies in order. I will be sure to share!

Ok, I think I'm just going to settle on the painting of the magic bands. I ordered mine today but my kids keep changing their minds on what they want.

All of the band are great! It's no wonder my kids are having a hard time, I haven't decided yet either.

I just got my band a couple of days ago and I have started playing with them. For my DD5 we are putting tattoos on it. Since her wrist is so small I've been playing around with the the grey outer cover. I've added a base coat then a tattoo and then a clear base on top but it cracking and the tattoo is coming off. Any suggestions ?

Hey guys so what is the best way to get my band just how I want it. Can I use a sharpie pen to get the details and put some top coats on it or do I really just need to try and stick to nail polish?

Didn't know about this thread so I started my own in the themepark board.
Here is a link to see how I decorated my band.

Your bands look cute! Did you use clear polish over the rub-ons to help them stay on?
I love the idea of putting the band on a baseball bat while decorating! I'll have to remember that for when we (hopefully) go next year.

All of these bands are so neat! I really liked the red one with the Minnie Mouse dots!! I don't think I'll be trying the picture rub-ons, but I am intending to use the nail polish technique to enhance my bands. :cool1::wave2:

Oh my goodness! Way too many ideas to try out. We leave in three weeks. Hopefully I can decide what to try before then!

Here's our decorated bands. One week to go!
