Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

Well I have finally finished both set of MBs for our upcoming trip in May n our AP holders ones. The red was a bit harder because of the dark color n DD wanted a specific character.

I yet again used temporary tattoos with base coat polish.

These are all of the MBs I've decorated for our past and future trips since MB testing started last year. Idk but I'm sure these won't be the last ones I'll get to decorate.

"Tinkerbell2528" We have some of these exact stickers. Yours turned out awesome! Did you put these on when the bands were straight or closed like they are on your wrist? Also, I think I have read to put a base coat let dry, then tattoos just like on your skin with water and then a base coat on top. Is that correct? Thanks!! I love all of the bands on here, but I am not quite as creative as some and I am hoping that I can at least make the tattoos look good like all of yours. My son is pretty good at art, so he might actually freehand his. If he does, I will share the picture.

Thanks! They look really cute! I am going to have to try that on my next trip.

And, if that pic was taken on the TTA then I am glad I am not the only one who always takes pictures of my feet there. :rotfl2:

It was :rotfl2: We love the TTA!!! :rotfl2:

Hi! I actually put on the tattoos both ways closed n open. I haven't had any problems with any of the 4 sets I have done and already taken on our trips. Yes I first use base coat n then add the tattoos to the bands when I feel them pretty dry.

Best of luck n hope this info helps.

Not sure if anyone has asked this before, but is it known that after all of the paint, tattoos, nail polish....have been added, that the RFID chip is still readable? I've heard that some things could interfere and that the band would no longer be usable. Thanks!

Just don't use any magnets.

Thank you!! Can't wait to receive our bands and get to work!

I plan to do tattoos and glow in the dark nail polish for my kids magic bands. Anyone with experience or thoughts on whether I should still use a base coat? If so, base coat first, then tattoos and then a few coats of glow in the dark nail polish?

Do they make such a thing as a glow in the dark base coat (or top coat?) That would make life so much easier :thumbsup2

so a few posts up it was said that a woman used Inkjet Contouring White Waterproof Vinyl by Papilio to print out stickers to put on magic bands.... Could you draw on the paper with markers or sharpies?
Anybody have experience with this type of paper?

Thanks, I was glad I found the link to order them online before my trip! Don't have it on hand to post but just google cover bands for Disney Magic Band & it'll come up. One is on Etsy but the seller I ordered from had their own site. The covers are a once & done deal so Mary may be staying on for quite some time before I choose to switch to another..

I do change my bands each day but the others I wore this past trip were ones I painted w/nail polish.

So far, the Mary Poppins one has gotten one day of use & has done well. I have three more covers which I'll eventually take pics of & post on here but they will be waiting until my next trip coming up in a couple months or so. :)

Maybe I'm punch drunk because I've just finished my college finals for now, but I can't find an Etsy seller that sells the vinyl band covers.

Can you please post a link? My daughter saw your band and is wanting so badly.

Thank you. Jennifer

I'm not the person who posted it, but I found this shop on Etsy. I haven't ordered from them since I really wanted a pink Minnie and all they have is red (they don't do any custom orders or changes, I asked.) https://www.etsy.com/shop/CrystalsCreativeShop?ref=af_shop_listed_item

I bought my vinyl stickers from DVC Central. I got four monorail colors and a Chip and Dale one for my little guy. They are very cute.....I don't have my bands yet, but I can't wait to get them. I ordered a red band and plan to do white nail polish polka dots for a Minnie look, but the CoverBands are removable, so I can do both :)

I feel like if we bought the Waterproof Vinal paper, and were able to draw on it with markers or sharpies that it would give us so many more possibilities... I'm going to go to staples and see if they carry the paper and test it out *fingers crossed* if not maybe I can still figure a way to do it with my printer on my computer.

Do you have a template for the sizing? I know a PP listed the dimensions, but having a template would make this so much easier! I'd love to try it too! :thumbsup2

Somebody posted a template (hand drawn on here some posts back)
A coworker of mine just went to Disney a few months ago I'm going to ask to borrow their magic band to get the right size and fit. *fingers crossed* I'm not that great with computer sizing and printing but I can hand draw things just fine, I just got done watching tutorials...
There are 2 options that I can figure out thus far.
#1 Buy glossy vinyl sticker paper and print your design with a inkjet printer
or
#2 Buy vinyl sticker paper & also buy laminate paper to go over top to make it more waterproof.
I think I'm going to attempt option #2 I don't think washable makers will work because they will smear on vinyl sticker paper, so I'm going to try sharpies and then put the laminate over top to hopefully lock it in.
I will post pics once I do my experiment lol:stir:
