Has anyone bought a car online?

We finally made the decision that we will fly out pets to Florida when we move. It is expensive and somewhat stressful (for both us and the pets). The good part, is that they will only be put in a stressful position for a few hours rather than the days it would take us to drive from Kansas City to Orlando. Since the pets are flying, we will also be flying. Both my sister and I currently have large SUVs. Her car is 6 years old and mine is 5 years old. We won't need these big 4WD vehicles in Florida. We plan on selling them before we leave Kansas City. We'd really like to have new vehicles ready to pick up when we reach Orlando. We really don't know the area well enough to run around looking for cars and we'd have to use a rental to do so. Ideally, we'd like to order the cars online and have them ready when we get there. We could take a cab from the airport to the car dealership and pick up our new vehicles immediately.

Have any of you ordered a car online? If so, did the experience go well? I'd appreciate any feedback!

Bought my Expedition using forddirect.com, I wasn't in as much of a bind as you appear to be from a pickup/arrival to your new location standpoint, but I think most dealers would be accomodating. I also think that in Fl, most SUV's are "region adjusted", meaning that they offer more of the 2wd variety.
