Just wondering...we have only ever been in March/April, but will be going mid-November this year. What is the weather like? crowds? Will the Christmas decorations be up? Any helpful hints???

Thanks!!!!

Christmas decorations will be up and it will be warmer then March/April. Its a really nice time to be there.

We have always gone in November. The weather is great for us and crowds are low. You might not like the weather if you love swimming as the times we have been it's been about 70-80 degrees mid day, but we'd rather swim some other place and have nice, cool touring days when at WDW. The longest line we have ever waited in was 45 minutes for Dumbo! All others are usually max 20 minutes, and of course we FP whatever we can.

The last time we were there the week before Thanksgiving week and the only thing I was disappointed with was that the Osbourne lights weren't lit yet. All of the other Christmas stuff was up and going though.

Unless I'm mistaken I say somewhere that the Osborne Lights would be lit this year On Nov 8th

One of our favorite times of year........beautiful weather, short lines & some dining options are easier that time of year.

Have a great time:)

Oh I hope this is true. Where did you hear this? We are checking out on the 8th but I will book another night if the show is on for the 8th. 2 years ago we missed it because Disney decided to start the show at the end of Nov. that year. since we will be back I would love to see it again!

We Love the weather at that time. Crowds were never bad. great time to go!

I saw it on another disney board. I will pvt msg you.

My family went over Thanksgiving a few years back, and the only day with large crowds was Thanksgiving.. The rest of the time it was very small crowds, and short waits :) The weather was great! It was chilly our first night there, but besides that it was beautiful out. The Christmas decorations were being put up while we were there.. The decorations are amazing! We went to see the giant gingerbread house at the GF and the decorations at AKL (we ate at Boma) and they were beautiful.. It's a great time to visit the World :thumbsup2 Hope you have a magical trip!!! :wizard:

We love mid-November - have been twice, in 2008 & 2009. Definitely would go again that time of year!

We have always tried to go down to Disney World October, November or December. These three months for my family seems to work better with the temps, with myself having ms cooler weather works best. We are from louisiana and have a family trip plan in november 2010, although we have been to D.W. before in november and it has always been a beautiful time in the parks. So for the familys going in november, I really believe you will be happy there at Disney World at that time of the year. Spencer A & Family

That would be awesome. We're there from the 12th to the 21st, and haven't seen Osborne Lights. I hope it's showing when we are there... but if not, I'll have to just book another trip next year. Darn. ;)

We went last year, Nov 16-22. This was our first trip so I have nothing to compare it to but it seemed perfect to us. We were told the crowds were lighter and the weather was great. Not to hot, did not need anything at night. The biggest crowd we experienced was at AK on Sat.

There were lots of Christmas decor up as well. I wonder if we go back in May of next year will I miss the Disney Christmas magic. I also would love to MVMCP. My DH and I have been trying to decide when to go back, May right after the girls are out of school, the week before Memorial Day or the week before Thanksgiving like last year.

I am sure I will enjoy it either time we go :) But I did fall in love with Disney at Christmas!

103 more days to go

Thanks, everyone! I'm feeling pretty good about the timing of our trip now!

Ooooo thanks for the info- that is great news!!:woohoo:

I actually booked meals at Boma and the Greand Floridian Cafe so we will have good excuses to go see their decorations...if they are up. ;)

I was down last year from November 8-15th and had a blast. Crowds were great (Universal everything was pretty much a walk-on. Disney we were able to do All of EPCOT, including a leisurely stroll around World Showcase w/ stops for drinks and smokes followed by pretty much everything at MK that evening during MVMCP). Weather was also quite nice. There were a couple days that were a bit chilly, but I believe that was due mostly from the stronger winds coming from a storm that was in the Gulf that week. Coming from PA, It was not too cold to handle w/ a short sleeved shirt.

I also really enjoyed being down there to experience the Festival of the Masters at Downtown Disney. I could easily spend a day or more just enjoying that (free) art show. I'm not positive, but I think the dates you mentioned may include the show this year.

Definately an enjoyable time to head down. I'm already planning trips next year in both March and November.

November is an excellent time to visit. If you arrive on November 1 you can catch the last night of the MNSSHP, and then the next week you can catch the first dates of the MVMCP! The Osborne Lights are going up on November 8. The Epcot Food & Wine party is running until November 7 or 8 too. The weather is lovely and there are rarely any rehab closures. The crowds are generally light, although it can get busy at Epcot primarily due to the ending of Food & Wine. Hours may be a bit shorter, particularly at Animal Kingdom. We've visited in November and May for the past three years and by far November is our favorite. Enjoy your trip!

We did that 3 years ago and it was the best, we were there for 2 wks. The first part of our trip was Halloween and the 2nd part was Christmas. I had a small tree in out room, did MVMCP and then a gift under the tree for my 2 kids from Santa that night. The night before we left we saw the Osbourne Lights and by the time we got home we we ready for the Christmas season it was so much fun.

This year we will get there right after the Halloween Party :sad2: and just do the Christmas part but we still can't wait.:cool1: It's a great time to go.

DD and I were there Nov 12-22 last year. We saw Osborne lights twice, and went to MVMCP. The only thing that wasn't going on yet was the Storytelling around Epcot.

And whoever said colder weather, not always. We've been mid November when it's been upper 80's, and last year DD went swimming almost every day. It was 60 they day we got there and raining so that was chilly, but the rest of the time we were in shorts.

Two years ago, we went down the Monday after Thanksgiving. It was perfect, low crowds, great weather, Christmas music playing in all the parks, and the rides had very low wait times. It really felt like the parks were open just for us. We will be heading down again this November on the 5th. I can't wait!! We have just passed the 100 day mark. :woohoo:

I hope you have a lovely trip!!
