Just learned about this airline thru the Dis boards. How are they ? I am use to flying US Air.

No. I have never flown Spirit Air. Sorry :rotfl2: the Speech Pathologist/English freak is coming out in me this morning! :confused3

We flew Spirit air, December 26 2005 and they were FABULOUS, I wish they were closer to us, I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

Hi,
We've flown with Spirit several times out of Atlantic City, with no problems whatsoever.

The airport is less "hectic" compared to Philly, as it's much smaller. We flew after all the 9/11 restrictions, and unless it's changed, you can pull up to the terminal and unload luggage & your party, then zip right over and park the car.
Nothing fancy, just a big paved lot (used to be a big dirt lot, no so long ago, lol).

Because we've always had good experiences with Spirit, I'd be willing to pay a little extra to fly with them rather than leave from Philly, but Southwest's fares have always been much lower for our travel dates for the last couple of years.

I've flown Spirit for years. Except for a Delta flight to Cinicinnati, they are the only airline that flies out of ACY.

Spirit is kind of small but strong. They are one of the few airlines that actually made a profit over the past few years, so no bankruptcy fears there.

And ACY airport is great. You can walk from the $4.25 per day parking to the terminal, it's very close so no shuttles are necessary. There are only 6 departure/arrival gates at the airport, so it never gets too crowded or hectic. But don't get too excited about flying out of "Atlantic City." The airport is on the mainland, in a town called Egg Harbor Township, about 11 miles away from Atlantic City, and it's not like Vegas where you can play a slot machine in the airport.

I fly Spirit out of Atlantic City every chance I get. The airport is less hectic and it is easy to get in and out of. Your car is parked right there no need for shuttle buses.

SPIRIT is the second largest carrier out of DTW behind NWA. I have flown them on a few occasions when the USED to fly in and out of Denver. They are OK. NO frills (not even pillows or blankets) Some of their older planes have the 3/2 seat configuration.

My beef with them is they fly out of the OLD Smith terminal out of DTW and it's just nasty. I have also had issues with them sticking to their take off time on many occasions.

I have flown them to MCO a few times because they have non stop service there. They just started a frequent flyer program that I signed up for.

IF they come in cheaper than NWA by a decent amount, I'll fly them. IF they come in range with SWA's prices, I'll choose SWA because of their adhearance to their printed schedule and great RR program.
