Harry Potter Complete Book Spoiler Thread

I just had a really frightening thought What happens if JKR dies before she finishes book 7! I know that is really morbid but....it just popped into my head.

Ewww. The publishing company would hire a ghost writer to complete the series, which would be soooo second-rate.

When I read that post, I thought of the Gone with the Wind "sequel". Didn't Margaret Mitchell's heirs pick someone to write it? The book was pretty bad as I recall.

Katie Couric asked her if she had an outline or notes anywhere in case something happens to her, she said no, I don't want anyone finnishing my work. So if something happens to her we will all have to make up our own ending. I also saw that she will be starting it at the end of this year.

I thought I remember reading that she has the last chapter of Book 7 done and in a vault. I remember this from around when Book 4 came out...

...and I like the sequel to GWTW!! ;)

What happened to Dumbledore's wand after his body was found? Was this mentioned and I just missed it? My DD is reading now and won't give it up so I can check! :cool1:

If you haven't already, you guys might want to go read the interview that Melissa (TLC) & Emerson (Mugglenet) did with JKR.

This was the best book I've ever read!!!

She needs to receive some kind of award for this! What a genius she is! Definetly the best book in the series. I started crying when Dumbeldore died, it was so sad! :sad2: I can't believe that there is just one more book left... there are so many things to be answered.

One of the biggest conflicts I have is Snape. I really do want Snape to be good. That's what bothered me the most when I finished the book and had no one to discuss it with. It seems a lot of people here also believe that Dumbledore asked Snape to kill him to keep Malfoy from having to do it (and perhaps other reasons, as well). I hope that is the case.

I believe that Dumbledore had Snape agree to another unbreakable vow that he would have to do the other one and save Malfoy. I believe that Snape and Malfoy will come to help Harry against Voldemort and Snape's knowledge of the Dark Arts will be invaluable. I know form the begining that Dumbledore would die, but not by Snape's hand. I ruled out Snape as the Half-Blood Prince due to the age of the book. I thought it was Slughorn. He was the correct age. But since Snape's mom a Prince, I think it might have been her book that he used when at school and that is why the book was too old.

"A phoenix is a bird that bursts into flames when it's time to die has come and is then reborn from the ashes."

I immediately thought of what happened to Dumbledore at his funeral...He burst into flame...unless I read that totally wrong. Could that mean that he will somehow be reborn?

I thought the same thing.

Have you guys discussed anything about who R.A.B. is?

Soon as I read the note I said it was Sirius' brother. He died before Sirius'. My guess it was after destroying the true locket.

I kept thinking that about what DD said about the prophacy and Harry. Voldemort made the assumption that Harry is the "one". What if he is not. I keep thinking that Longbottom is actually the chosen one. His parents died in about the same way as Harry and he is true to Harry.

I am confused

I have thought that

Pure blood = entire line is of wizards in witches in family

Half blood = 1 muggle parent / 1 magical parent

Mudblood = Someone who is born of both muggle parents yet has magic.

the post above confuses me as have several others when refering to blood.

Snape calling lily a mudblood would be correct..she has muggle parents, just like hermione.

Half blood would be Snape, Voldermort and so on - each having 1 muggle parent yet a magical parent as well.

Pure bloods would be Malfoys, Weasleys

Harry has two magical parents..yet his "bloodline" is not pure

Am I understanding the lines correctly ? I often see these tossed around and I am not sure if its my lack of understanding or not.

Harry is a half-blood, since Lily was a mudblood.

It was possible before Voldemort attacked Harry, thus marking Harry as his equal... :wizard:

JKR says the quidditch match announced by Luna is that last quidditch match. DSs will be disappointed that there is no quidditch in Book 7. :sad2:

Neville's parents didn't die. They're alive; they're just well, shells. I guess they sort of resemble advanced Alzheimers patients in our world.

I also thought of how Dumbledore looked at Severus and said "Severus, please..." Nowhere in the previous books does Dumbledore ever beg anyone for anything. I think he may have been asking Snape to kill him so that Malfory wouldn't have to.

Anyway, those are my thoughts, silly as they may be.

Lori P. :)
I dont think your thoughts are silly. I just finished listening to the audiobook LOVED it, but a little bummed he dies. That would make sense that D askes Snape to do it for that reason.
I doubt we have seen the last of D yet. I just dont think so. Even Obi-Wan helped Luke out when he was in a pinch after he died and we all know that Dumbledore is more powerful. ;)
I also agree that he wouldnt be outdone by Snape.
