The last movie isn't being released until at least 2010!!

so we will have a Thanksgiving 2008 HBP
then a Universal opening of fall/winter 2009
and a DH movie opening the following summer/fall 2010

Yes, I figured that was why he didn't KILL Voldemort, but why couldn't he disarm him and then put him in Azkaban or something?

He tried shooting a "rope spell" (don't remember the name of it) but V was able to get out of it.

I'm glad she's given an update on George (although I prefer Ron as an auror). I've been so worried about poor George and how he found the strength to cope with the death of his twin.

My son said something so funny this morning, he said he imagines Fred has joined Peeves as a ghost and the two are wreaking havoc throughout Hogwarts.

I never bothered to mention to him that ghosts are sort of sad in a way because they are in limbo and it wouldn't really be fitting a character like Fred would end up a ghost. He liked the idea, and it seemed to comfort him, so I said I liked the idea too and was sure thats exactly where Fred is.

I loaned my book out, working from memory here. Didn't snapes memories show that DD said there will come a time when V is keeping the snake safe and not sending him to do his work. When this time comes you need to be sure Harry gets to V. I think that is what he was going for. I presumed that he would then tell Harry all or some of the memories he gave harry at his (Snapes) death.

To elaborate, DD wanted Snape (when the time was right, which was when Nagini was no longer being sent to do V's dirty work) to tell Harry that he had part of V's soul and would need to allow V to kill him. Harry had to know this or else V could come back.

Some people here have criticized Tonks for leaving little Teddy to go and fight at Hogwarts. I disagree. She was, in fact, an Auror, AND she wanted to be there, with the man she loved. Mostly, though, I think she was fighting for a better world for Teddy, a world without Voldemort, and in that sense, she was doing it out of love for him.

I completely agree. What kind of world would Teddy have to grow up in, mother or not, had Voldemort succeeded? And as an auror, she had a very specific skill set and a responsibility to be there in battle. I just wish a bigger deal was made of her sacrifice.

I also would have liked a Tonks/Bellatrix face-off. Then again, there were just so many people that should have had a go at Bellatrix, I'm sure it was hard for Jo to pick just one.

Thanks. Poor thing, he's 12 and I think he is having a really hard time accepting Fred's death.....I don't think he expected any of the kids to die, just the bad guys and maybe one or two of the adults.

Funny, but Rowling says two different things re. Ron's career in 2 interviews.

In the interview on the Today show, she states:

As for his occupation, Harry, along with Ron, is working at the Auror Department at the Ministry of Magic. After all these years, Harry is now the department head. "Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department," Rowling said. "They are now the experts. It doesn't matter how old they are or what else they've done."

and in a more recent interview last night, she stated:

Harry's best friend, Ron Weasley, joined his brother, George, as a partner at their successful joke shop, Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.

Makes me wonder which one is accurate?!?!!?
