We wanted to have a sons first haircut at Disney World and it is also his first trip and his birthday. We called a few days ago to get an appointment and who knew it would be booked up the entire 14 days we are going to be in Disney World. What are the odds we could just show up and since its his first trip and first haircut and birthday that they could work us in? I feel like it will mostly about the pictures and the memories and very little about the haircut. Really most 1 year olds do not have much hair anyway. I could see it easily take like 5-10 min.

I would suggest going right at rope drop. We've done this at least 3 times and have never had to wait more than 15 minutes. As soon as the park opens, there is a CM there taking names for a waiting list. Go at rope drop and you will probably be out by 9:45 am at the latest.

We have an appointment for 2 baby's firsts at 5pm on our last day 12/2. It was all we could get, but the time doesn't work well for us as we have other park plans that night. If we try to get on the waiting list a different day do we need to wait in the barber shop or will they give us an approximate return time? TIA!

How far in advance can you make an appointment?

I would definitely call and check daily as you get closer to your trip. People plan way in advance and then plans change. If it is any hope we were there over NYE week.i didn't even know about the barber shop before our visit. I called Sunday and they happened to have an early morning spot for my twins Monday morning.

We are local and this is the only place my kids, 3 and 7, get their haircut, so we've been A LOT. We almost never have an appointment and I HIGHLY suggest going first thing. Check in and then they'll give you a return time, if they can't get you in right away. They have 3 chairs and 2 are for reservations.

Do you know if they have photo pass photographers in the barber shop? Would be nice to enjoy the first haircuts without fumbling with a camera!

My nephew had his first cut done just a month or two ago. There weren't any PP photographers in there. It's pretty small, not room for a ton of extra bodies.

If you can't get a reservation get there at park opening and head right to the barber shop. They will tell you when to come back. We did that last month and they had my nephew come back at 10:30am. We went did a few rides, then brought him back for his haircut.
