Sometimes negative experiences get a lot more air-time than positive ones, so I'd like to just throw this out into the universe. ;) I just got off the phone with Heather at Member Services, and she was so polite and helpful and friendly. She helped me make some changes to a reservation and managed to explain the whole concept of "reservation points" in a clear and understandable way. I especially appreciate that she was patient and didn't make me feel like I was taking up too much of her time.

To be honest, nearly all of the staff I've talked to at Member Services have been really fun and have helped reinforce the idea that we made a good purchase decision with DVC. When you're excited about visiting Disney World, you want everyone else to be excited, too, right?!?

I am glad for you! Thank you for the positive post.

Bobbi :)

I have to agree. I have had nothing but positive experiences with MS. In my book they do a great job!!! :cool1:

I agree I have not had any problems with any MS CM's.

Just to chime in... I spoke with Diane today in MS and she was helpful and friendly. My youngest DS was babbling away and she was patient and just laughed. It was a very positive encounter! :thumbsup2

I have to agree with you guys I have a hard time with the negative posts because MS has always been polite and even helpful.

Thank you shantay!!

I loooove MS!!! I would never have felt comfortable adding on 13 times if it were not for the excellent support MS gives. Its nice to be able to do things online, but I really feel MS is irreplaceable.

And I am one of those people that need to call MS often, because we are always in a 11 month window for our multiple trips.

Care to share? I still don't understand reservation points!

Uh-oh...I'm terrible at explaining things, but here goes. If you make reservations at any property outside of the seven DVC resorts, your vacation club points turn into reservation points. Which isn't a problem unless you have to cancel your reservation. If you do cancel, your points have to stay "reservation points" and must be used at a non-DVC property.

So, let's say you want to stay at The Boston Harbour Hotel (which is in the Concierge Collection) in August. You make a reservation with your vacation club points, which turn into reservation points at that time. But then let's say you have to cancel your trip. You couldn't book at BCV (a DVC resort) using those converted points, but you could use them at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Disney Land. We were talking about the Concierge Collection, so I'm not at all sure if any of this applies to World Passport or Interval.

I hope I didn't confuse you more!

Haha. No, I think that helped. We have a trip to Disneyland booked for July at the Disneyland hotel. But it is looking more and more like it is going to have to be cancelled. So I guess those points are reservation points. It is good to know that they can still be used for non-DVC resorts in Disney World. Thanks for the info!
