Introduction:
About a 2 months ago, my mother and I booked a 1 bedroom at BCV for 4 nights the last week of October. We thought 4 nights would be enough to enjoy the F&W Festival. Then, about 3 weeks ago, we decided we REALLY wanted 5 nights, so I called MS. They said BCV did not have any availability but they could put us at BWV for the last night and waitlist us for BCV. We did not really want to move but we have never stayed at BWV and figured it's just for 1 night so why not?

Happy Ending:
I checked our reservation today and our last night at BCV came through! :cool1: I have never waitlisted for a room before, so I am very pleased that it came through so quickly!

I noticed on our reservation that they still listed the 5th night separate from the original reservation. I called MS today and was surprised to hear that while we will be in the same room at BCV, we need to stop at the front desk to get a new room key for the last night. I have never heard of doing this before, but it certainly isn't inconvenient, just something else I made a note of on the itinerary I planned. I don't remember hearing people talk about doing this on the forums, but I suppose I have just never noticed it.

Thanks for letting me share, I just wanted to post this because besides my mother, no one else I know would be this excited, lol. :woohoo:

I wish everyone the best of luck for having their waitlist reservations come through! :wizard:

It used to be that MS would link the reservations so you didn't have to check in. I would call MS and ask that the reservations be linked.

I got lucky on my first waitlist too, booked OKW, they didn't have anything available near hospitality house, so I waitlisted for that but still booked anyway.

About a week or so later, I was emailed that my reservation was changed and my waitlist went through! Got building 14 right across from the HH.

I would also agree with the PP, call MS to have it linked.

Thanks for the suggestion Bobbiwoz and Donald, I will call them back and ask. :) I'm surprised the CM at MS did not offer to link them for me. :confused3

I have read that since the new system went in place last year, that any reservation that is segmented, including those done so because of wait lists are sometimes in need of new keys.

I don't think it is because its not linked, but that the new Disney system does not deal well, at least yet, with segmented trips.

Good luck!

I called MS today. The CM linked the reservation and made a note that we are staying for 5 nights instead of 4. She suggested that when we check in, I should remind the CM at the front desk that we extended our vacation by 1 day and to make sure our keys are coded for 5 nights. Problem solved. :)

Thanks for the comments everyone!
