Happy birthday to Epcot!

My boyfriend are in WDW during Epcots birthday

Just wondered if anyone knows what will be happening at the park that day? Also, I know it will be busy as the F&W festival is also on so do you think we should go or give it a miss?

Oct. 1 is a Monday with no EMH scheduled and (currently) no special events listed other than F&W. HOWEVER, given that it is the 30th anniversary, I'm sure that some events will eventually be announced to celebrate the event. When MK had it's 40th anniversary it was really, really crowded and I'm sure Epcot will be the same.

You might want to take a look at easywdw.com's discussion about this. Josh has Epcot as a NOT RECOMMENDED that day.

D23 is in charge of the "celebration," which sounds much like a convention. Costs another $65 to attend the events (on top of EPCOT admission). I knew someone who was excited for this, but after reading the D23 stuff yesterday, is no longer giddy.

Oct.1st is also my birthday along with MK and Epcot,I was at Epcot's 25th in 2007 and they had special merchandise,a rededication ceremony exactly like the one they had when the park opened,Disney legend Marty Sklar did a question and answer forum and there was a special fireworks show that was amazing which got delayed because about 4 minutes before 9pm a huge rainstorm came out of nowhere.They got pushed back to like 9:25 but at least they were able to have them.

My mom and I will also be there and are hoping they will have some special merchandise and some special events. I read the information on the D23 event and it looks rather boring. I'm excited to be there for EPCOT's 30th birthday, as my 30th birthday is also in October. Yay, I'm the same age as EPCOT!!!
