Happiest Memory?

If I MUST choose from the thousands of happy memories...

Riding the boat from the Dolphin to Epcot on my DH's birthday evening (December 18th) when some teenagers got everybody singing Christmas carols! It was a lovely, sweet experience.

You know that changing color mickey statue on the grounds of the contemporary? My happiest Disney memory is walking by that statue with my family and stopping to get pictures with it. It was a perfect summer day and we were between attractions, so we were just exploring. It was nothing special, but i think back on that day and smile like crazy!

Why can't all DIS threads be about happiest memories instead of complaints? This is GREAT and what Walt dreamed about.

Time to add my own:

I asked my sister what her happiest memory was: "Riding that bus the first time from Orlando Airport [to Beach Club Resort] and listening to the music... Radio Disney (doo doo doo) Radio DisNEY! I'll never feel that way again."

Mine: Going with my sister, our mom, and our aunt last fall to Disney and watching their expressions. Specifically, scheming to get a ride in the front of the monorail at night headed toward the Castle. When we saw it, my mom gasped and said, "Oh JEN...." That was wonderful. :goodvibes And my aunt kept saying over and over, "This is awesome..."

Reading thru all your wonderful memories makes my anticipation of our trip in July even harder!! :

I just want us to be there now !!!! So we can make some more great memories and magic moments. :rotfl:

Thanks to all of you for sharing. :grouphug:

My most Magical Memory? I have two...

1. Walking down Main Street in Oct 1997 with my brand new DH. We stopped at the Plaza and he bought a chocolate ice cream with one spoon to share and we sat outside and took it all in and acted all gushy like the newlyweds we were. It was the first time I had been to WDW since 1984 with my family.

2. Dec 2004 MVMCP...it had been a perfect night...we had taken the boat over from the VWL (the resort I had fallen in love with) with our new hats: Santa Mickey (DS), Santa Minnie (me) and Santa Goofy (DH) and enjoyed the 'Twas the Night Before Christmas show, the cookies and cocoa, the family photo, several rides and perfect seating for the parade. My perfect memory came when I stood on Main Street with DS (3 at the time) in his buggy, waiting for DH to get his MVMCP AP pins from the Emporium  as DS and I watched the snow fall and the Christmas lights and then watched Wishes over the castle with DH when he came back outto join us. I knew this was a perfect Christmas memory. We then took the boat back to VWL and fell asleep in our 1br where we had a DIS exchange Christmas tree, I had decorated the patio glass doors with Christmas lights and put Christmas air fresheners in each room so it all smelled and looked like Christmas.

We have had so many memories together, but those two just really stand out in my heart.

All my DW memories are happy ones...I have 100's. This is sappy, but to me DW is sort of a sneak peek at Heaven!...ONLY HEAVEN GOT TO BE AIRCONDITIONED!!!!

My favorite memory is my dd's first trip to Disneyland. We went to celebrate her first bday. She was an early walker so she'd been walking about 3 months and at an age where she hated being couped in the stroller, so we just let her toddle all over the park (funny how this is the same kid who insists on the stroller now :earboy2: ). Our last night there we came back to the Disneyland hotel around 8pm after a full day at Disney and started her bath attempting to get her ready for bed so dh and I could go to Downtown Disney for our anniversary (dd's bday and our anniversary are 1 day apart). We'd brought my teenage brother along for the trip and he was going to watch dd for us while we went out. Well dd wanted nothing to do with a bath and ran and grabbed her Mickey ears (worn constantly throughout the trip) and wanted them back on. Then her Minnie shirt and wanted that back on. Then ran for the door. So we decided to humor her, got her all back into her outfit, and opened the door. She ran for the elevator. So we took that down. Then she ran right out into Downtown Disney. We followed her through Downtown Disney right back into Disneyland. And she knew exactly where she wanted to go. We ended up staying there in the park till closing that night, just having the best time ever. She was laughing and dancing and smiling all night. And many (well maybe 5 or 6) guests asked to take her picture, one saying she was the epitomy of Disney Magic. For me she definitely is. :earsgirl:

Dd's now been 4 times and Ds 3 and many more magical moments have come from each of those trips. I so cannot wait till July for our first WDW trip! I know there are so many magical memories ahead for us. I just love the story of the dancing in the rain and the woman who took the picture of the proposal.

My favorite memory is of us pulling up to SSR for the first time, Checking in and seeing our DVC home for the first time was so amazing. I have so many memories in such a short period of time that is why DH and I choose WDW as our primary vacation destination, you just can't beat it for families. :love:Hanname.

My first memory was of Disneyland with the family-1966, second with everyone from our prom-June 1968 and i still have pictures of my then boyfriend (now husband) of 36 years at Disneyland - 1967 :wizard: . Have only been to WDW twice and Epcot since then. The best memory will be when we go in September and will be there for my birthday with my very best friend and two of my sisters. My very best friend will see all the joy on my face and that will be the best, living the memory through her eyes!!! :wizard: :wizard:

My favorite memory of WDW happened on my first trip there in 1986. My DS was 5 at the time, and as we were walking onto Main Street at the MK, he kept saying "I can't believe I'm really here...". DS is now 25 and I'm happy to say that he still takes trips to WDW with me whenever he can so we can experience that "I can't believe I'm really here" moment of wonder together. He's already starting to talk about taking a trip next year with his wonderful girlfriend and her 3 year old son (my "almost a grandson!"). And, yes, I am invited!

I know this is broad, but anything magical that happened to anybody else will always bring a tear to my eye.

1. The little girl on the cruise who was there because of the Make a Wish Foundation.
2. Rex, the little boy last week who met and became instant friends with Pooh and Pals. Rex was a special needs child and the CM brought him in and to watch him just hug and hug the characters really touched me.
3. The girl who turned 21 and they made a bid deal about it on Test Track.
4. Each time my daughter would get so wide-eyed and excited about a princess, tears would well in my eyes.
5. When my baby girl rode rides with hills this June and loved them so much she wanted to do them again. The fear of anything other than Dumbo and Aladdin's carpets were gone.

I could go on and on......................

These are making me cry. :) Happy tears of course. May everybody's visits be so wonderful.

we have had many vacations over the years, but this past january was our first to WDW. (dh had been 5 ot 6 times as a child but not since he was 17)

we have many happy WDW moments that will always stay with us, ie/ seeing the castle, ds face at the excitment of it all, etc etc....but the one memory that will be with me forever, and has made DW our favorite vacation destination is...

when sitting in frontierland people watching, while having a snack of popcorn, and soda, the look of complete relaxation on DH face :goodvibes . he works a very stressfull job as a buyer for a local lumber yard, and we have our own business besides. he never has had the look of total escape on any other trip. we turned the cell phones off and said we will deal with whatever when we get home, we were just the 3 of us, so no one else's needs or wants to worry about. i have not seen that look on his face in a very long time, so now when i see the stress starting to creep up on him, i start to talk about our next WDW trip in 2007.(we already had a trip planned elsewhere for 2006 b4 i knew our hearts would belong to WDW). when i talk to him about what else i learned new on the dis, or what new pics of food were up, he starts to forget the "other" issues, and is 100% in tune with WDW info.

so for that i thank all of you fellow diser's, who help keep the magic coming with all of your great updates, and info, and friendship for those of us who can't get there as often as we wish,!!!! all of you are part of the DW magic too for us!!! :)
