Happiest Memory?

There are so many I can not really narrow it to one so here are my 2 favorite memories.

1. My forst trip to Disney in 1998. My in-laws lived in an RV park nearby and we stayed withthem. They went out of their way to make sure I did and saw everything disney my first visit. They are avid disney fans and made it wonderful for me. My FIL passed away in 2002 but I still think of him immediately when I think of disney.

2. DD's trip this past winter. She was 2 and even though it was her 3rd trip there it was the first she was interactive with. I loved seeing it all through her eyes. Me met over 20 characters, dined with Pooh Bear, Riding the teacups repeatedly and loved it all over again through her eyes.

I'd have to say my best memories of Disney World are from our first trip ever for all four of us Dh, Ds (9) and younger (5). My husband and I were awed walking down main street and charmed by the delight my boys took in everything - down to the twinkling sidewalk lights at EPCOT. We developed our "favorites" - Peter Pan Ride, Buzz Lightyear at MK, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT....it's so wonderful. Love to go back soon :flower:

I did not get to go to Disney as a child or teen, but in the last few years I am making up for it! My favorite memory was 2003 when I got to go with my husband and my mom, the two people I love most in the world, it does not get any better than that.

2nd runner up-Sadly we were booked for a visit the week after the 9/11 attack. Our condo was non-refundable, so we decided to go ahead with the trip. I admit we were pretty scared being away from home and not knowing what would happen next. I felt guilty even being there with so much pain that others were going through.I remember thinking a lot about all the CM's and how they were probably scared too, but they still kept smiles on thier faces! It was very nice, and NO LINES, we never waited more than 15 mins for ANY ride and most were walk on's.

My next visit will be special too, as it will be our first visit on property, and our anniversary!

My favorite memory was our first trip, when DD was 3 years old. We had been talking about Disney for so long, on our trip to the airport we pulled into a Burger King and she said "is this Disney World?" LOL......

We arrived early evening, and we were staying at ASMo. We went to EPCOT, and she had fallen asleep on the bus ride back. She woke up at 3AM, sat up in bed and whispered "Mommy"....I said what?? she ran over to the window, looked out of it, saw the giant dalmation, and in the most breathless voice said "We're at DISNEY WORLD" That moment right there, before we had even seen the castle, or met Mickey Mouse, made all the months of planning so worth it.

That is so sweet, it brought a tear to my eye.

God, it's so hard for me to choose one. But if I have to, I guess I'll have to choose when DH and I were at the hotel and we were ready to go to Epcot on our first day, and I started crying and told DH how happy that I was because we were FINALLY at WDW! (There was a lot of stress at our previous jobs during that time and this was our honeymoon/vacation.)

Every trip has been special but none could or will ever compare to the first with my children. I was in my 30's and my kids were 6 and 8 years old, respectively! I was hooked on my drive in to the park (just MK and Epcot back then..1984) There was nothing particular that struck us. It was more just a general feeling of safety and childlike adventure. In those days I was on a very limited budget and we made the best of it. The whole family was involved in the planning and because of that felt a certain amount of responsibility to stay within budget. We did with cash to spare. You can't ask for much more than that.

We had a lot of time together because we drove from Vermont to Florida and, of course, back. Coming home we would sing the then current, Now is the best time of your life, song from CoP a large part of the 1500 miles back. The trip made a lasting impression on me and my daughters. We have all been back numerous times but I have the family record of 17 trips. The last 4 or 5 have been solo and I am still able to see things that trigger memories of that trip and I flash back to my youth and thiers.

In the works now is a "me" sponsored family trip in 2008 with my daughters, thier husbands and my three grandchildren. Am I excited about it...you can't imagine how much. My hope is that we all stay healthy and that this won't be our only family outing.

:grouphug: :cool1: :cloud9:

My best memory is the first one as parents with my three children, ages 9, 7, and 4. We told my kids that fighting, complaining or whining were not allowed in Disney, and surprisingly they listened. It was so rewarding for my husband and I to see the excitement through their eyes. My kids are now 20, 19, and 15, and we are planning our third trip to Disney. We are counting down the days, but I don't think anything will compare to that first trip. :earsboy:

I have sooo many but one that really stands out is one time at toy story pizza planet. My daughter was getting ready to play one of those animal grab games. As the man was leaving that was in front of her he said those games are impossible to win...well we go ahead and play anyways! and on her first try guess what a 101 dalmations stuffed animal! She was sooo excited!

I have many, but the one that came to mind first was this..... My hubby who at the time was just getting into "the disney thing" it was our honeymoon in 98.
Well he wanted to plan a romantic evening just for us! You see my mom and brother made the trip with us, so we were going to have a "alone evening" just the two of us :love2:
Anyway he wanted to plan it alone, no help :groom: (mind you I was the one who always made the PS and so on and he always just followed along)
So jump to "our night" and he says I made reservations at the Crystal Palace? :confused3 (very proud of himself, :Pinkbounc and had NO idea where or what the Crystal Palace was) I am like uh ok...lets go! :rotfl:
So I lead the way, and say 'here we are" so just as proud as ever :cool1: he marches up to the lady and gives his name, looked in the window..........and the look on his face when he seen Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Piglet was :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: He turned around and said maybe I should have read a little more about the romantic place I was picking
I loved it!!! :love2: and we had a blast, could not have asked for a better evening! :cloud9:

These are wonderful guys, I can feel the warm and fuzzies. Keep these great memories coming!

Watching my friend get lost in the Magic of staying on property for the first time ever, last October. She had been to WDW a few times before, but always stayed offsite, and I talked here into the Poly, having stayed there myself a bunch of times. Oh man, she was like a little kid. We're doing it again this Oct.

My happiest memory came in 2002 when I went to WDW for the first time, it was on my honeymoon so that was special but when I walked under the train station and saw the castle for the first time, I got teary eyed and still do when I think about it. ::MickeyMo

I was about 9 years old (so this was 20 years ago). My little sister was 3. We were standing at the TTC waiting for my dad and trying to decide if we should take the ferry or monorail over. There was some music being piped in and I looked over to where my little sister was, and there she was dancing in the middle of the plaza. I don't know what it was about the scenario...she was so young, so cute and innocent, and just dancing up a storm without a care in the world. That image always sticks with me.

It was around 1987 when my mom planned a vacation for the whole family at the Grand Floridian. My wife and I had been married one year and were living in Louisiana. We met my sisters, my parents, and grandparents at the GF. We had a great time doing rides, shows, etc. My grandparents and mom have since past on but those memories are as vivid today as then.

On a recent trip to WDW we went past the Hall of Presidents. There are benches around that area and I could still see my mom sitting there waiting for us after a ride. Good times.

I must quit reading these at work...people don't quite understand why I look all teary eyed when they come in my office! The first time I visited WDW was in 2002 with my Mom, also her first visit. I was 27 at the time and a little worried that we might not have a "magical" time since I wasn't a little kid anymore. I had fallen asleep in the car and Mom slowed down and woke me up as we drove under that big beautiful sign that says WDW and as I screamed "We're really here!", I knew I had nothing to worry about and that we would have a very magical time. I will never forget that feeling of knowing I had finally made it to WDW. :earboy2:

I never went to WDW until I was 30 years old. It's something I wanted to do as a child but my family couldn't afford it. When DS was 4 we decided that the time was right.

I will never forget my first real view of the castle. We took the ferry from the TTC and rounded the slight corner. My husband said, "look Jen." I looked up, saw the castle, and burst into tears. I was so happy.

I have two...
The first is from our 2002 trip~It rained the first 4 days of our trip and I had just about had it!! We woke up on day 5 and the weather channel said sunshine so we headed to MK. After a few hours the sky opened up and there was the rain. I looked in our bag and realized I left our ponchos in the room. :sad2: It started to really pour hard. Everyone scattered to the shops and underneath the awnings on Main street. I started to run with them and Dh, then my boyfriend, grabbed my hand and said, who cares? We are already soaked! I was like, is he kidding? He picked me up and twirled me around an empty wet Main street singing. I couldnt help but laugh. We were drenched but it didnt matter. We danced and skipped in the rain...people along the sidewalks running to get out of the rain were clapping and laughing, and some started to join us! We had the best time.
That night, we went to dinner at California Grill which brings me to my other most magical memory. After dinner, when the lights went down and the music was piped in, he proposed to me! What a wonderfully magical moment!!! By the way, it didnt rain again for the rest of our trip! :sunny:
That trip was filled with so many magical moments!!

I've had so many magical memories growing up as well as when we have brought our children to WDW. :goodvibes If I had to pick one, it would be on our trip this past December. My father was veteran of the day at MK and hearing them announce his name and his service record along with playing the national anthem, etc. was so very moving for us all. I still get teary-eyed at the memory. :wizard:

my happiest memory is when my then boyfriend proposed to me on the beach at the GF. my answer was "of course" and it was such a beautiful night. the funny part of this special memory is that we got engaged on friday the 13th under a full moon with a lightning storm heading our way.

I'm just wondering what your happiest memory of the Magic is. :goodvibes

There have been plenty of happy memories since my first trip in 1983, but, one of my all time favorite memories was my trip in 1990.

It was my daughter Amanda's first trip (3 1/2 years old). She was very excited about meeting her favorite character, Cinderella, so we made a priority seating at the castle for lunch.

As soon as we arrived in the lobby (before we even made it upstairs), Cinderella came walking down the staircase (looking magical). Amanda ran into her arms and Cinderella picked her up and they spoke quietly to each other for about 5 minutes! We couldn't believe it! Amanda was in heaven and so were we. :cloud9:

I'm so happy my husband was videotaping it. Even though Amanda is 18 now, she still remembers how wonderful that was. I can't believe so many years have passed and Amanda will be a princess tomorrow at her prom.
