So I thought I'd write about my most recent trip to NYC since it's (kind of) disney related. We found out that Beauty and the Beast was closing on Broadway for good at the end of July. It was the first show I took Bella to and we had a wonderful time, 4th row center seats, went to Mars 2112 (FYI totally cool restaurant for kids in NYC), etc. Anyways, the girl who play Chelsea on That's so Raven was finishing out the role of Belle and the kids love that show. Me and my sister, Wendy decided to take her dd, Lauryn (who is 4 next week) and Cooper for a fun day. The day started off bad

....
It was pouring rain, Wendy who is 8 months pregnant, had a raging toothache, I hurt my neck the day before and the kids were fighting over snacks. And this was only on the train

. W had taken a painkiller that made her sick 4 times over. Thank goodness the traincar had a bathroom! All of these women were offering her food, mints, water, etc but she felt much better after that. Lesson learned: do NOT take a painkiller on an empty stomach. Anyways, by the time we pulled into Grand Central the sun was shining, the kids were smiling and we felt great

! Until....
I had seen the sandwich shop on the show "Food Finds" called the Peanut Butter Company.
We had to take a taxi there so I hailed one and we jumped in

. Now, most people know that NYC taxi drivers are a little crazy. No offence. Ours was a certified nutjob and we clung to the seats and laughed nervously. Until he banged into a guy on a bicycle. The biker slammed his fist onto the hood of the car and our driver yelled obcenities to him as he sped off, HELLO, there are two 4 year olds in here!!!! 3 traffic lights later I see a guy standing outside of the taxi looping up his bike lock chain (the kind with the 4 inch links) and he said something to me. Huh? I realized it was the bike guy. Next thing I knew glass had flown everywhere because he smashed his chain into the drivers window.

THEN the driver starts to follow him. UMMMM, excuse me but STOP THE TAXI!!!!!! We threw money at him, got out and stared at each other. Long story short, it was very frightening but we forged ahead. This meant we had to get another taxi regardless because we were in the 20's (streets).
So we finally got to the Peanut Butter Co and it is adorable inside. Lots of old signs, cafe style tables, delicious looking menu with all types of peanut butter sandwiches (looked better than they tasted). Coop liked his Fluffernutter one.
Here are Lauryn and Cooper.
After we ate we got yet another cab back up to Times Square and took them to the Toys R Us where they have an indoor ferris wheel. Here they are waiting to go on.
And here's them on the ride with Wendy.
More in the next post.
