For those of you who might not have heard, Disney is trying out new handleless mugs at Saratoga Springs. Bad idea especially for kids, they will be dropping them all the time. If they really wanted to try this idea, then they should give an option of getting the mug with or without a handle. And I would still bet the mugs with the handles will sell far more than the mugs without. I personally feel this is totally absurd. What are your thoughts?

I vote "no" because for years I have seen one parent carrying multiple mugs by the handles to the refill at the caf. My guess is this change is not related to manufacture of the mugs but to discourage the actual use/refill of bottomless mugs. Sad. Personally, I think there should be a choice betw the 2 styles for guests.

Actually it's not just at Saratoga Springs, they are at every resort. You have the option right now, but once the inventory of handled mugs are gone there will be no more option.

How about a 3rd category: Couldn't care less.

If you absolutely, positively can't live without a handle, get one that fits Tervis tumblers, and bring it with you.

But since Disney will hear the griping and see a new revenue possibility, watch for Disney branded handle accessories, like the Tervis ones, to show up soon in the resort gift shops

I'm with PP poster. Really couldn't care less if they had handles or not, personally. I voted "for" though because now they'll fit in my stroller console and car cup holders.
I do think it's a bummer though for the people who like to go up with a bunch of mugs to bring back to their larger group as it won't be as easy.

Have no experience with new mugs, but if they are the same price then it is just another money grab by the house of mouse. You may not think there is a lot of plastic in a handle but if you multiply that amount by millions ( over a given period of time) it makes for great reduction in production costs and Disney receives the same amount of money for the mug. It is a steadfast retail ploy. If you don't want to charge more but want to make more money figure out how to make the product for less :-(

I don't care. I think there's positives and negatives. I'm glad it'll fit in my car cup holder a bit easier.

This may be a silly question but with the handles gone, where do they place the chip? When I was there last, it was under the handle. I image it would be at the bottom of the mud but just curious if anyone had any info on this!

It would be great if they could copy the mugs we got at Swan/Dolphin in April. No handle, but the outside has "ridges"for a better grip. The top screws on and is shaped to be kind of an adult sippy cup. The bottom has a slip resistant coating. Used it for coffee and soda, and use it every day at home. It cost no more than than the Disney mugs. To answer the OP's question, I would prefer to try the handleless version.

Love it. Will fit in my cup holders, will take up less room in my cupboard, I can stack them. All my other cups, except the Disney ones, are absent of handles and my kids do just fine with them.

If I am not mistaken, the only way I could tell the cups apart when they had the lid removed, was by the color of the handle.

Option #4 - I want the waterpark style mugs back at the resorts! And I want custom mugs for each resort!!! :D

I really don't understand why that is a problem.

Don't people wash their mugs? Unless someone has used coffee in their mug and it smells, in that case you could smell the coffee, what difference does it make if the actual mugs get switched around?

I find the handles annoying. So I vote without but why not sell them both for everybodies needs. I bet they will sell a handle cage system that slots on separate that fits the mug at extra cost!

I went with for becusase they will fit in the stroller and car:) i already have a ton with handes at home so a mix of both with be great!
