I am 55 days out and was able to book character dining yesterday.
Still no WOC or Frozen pre show though.

I've never done the tour and booked this morning for 9/9. I hope it's not a let down!

Which one? I just checked online and they are not showing any reservation times in October for Minnie & Friends at Plaza inn. I'm curious if they just aren't available or if I have to call in.I am 55 days out and was able to book character dining yesterday.

It really sounds like they're not ready to commit on park hours yet.We were also able to make our character breakfast (Surf's Up)reservation for October 5 already. It seems to be the in-park character breakfast that aren't available, probably for the same reason that WoC packages aren't available yet.
I'm sure you won't be let down. Happiest Haunts tour has changed this year, so no one really knows what is going to happen on it. The gos is suggestive of something amazing.
Would love to hear a review when you are done.

I was going to make a trip just for this tour because it was SO GOOD last year but the changes they seem to be making makes me too wary. I think I'll do the holiday tour instead since we've never done it. It's a shame because Master Gracey as our host was sensational. And last year it was also in the late afternoon into evening which just heightened the experience. I have to admit I'm so happy we went last year because this isn't nearly as appealing.
From the website:

Plus, your Tour Guide will share behind-the-scenes stories about the attraction’s design, construction and opening day in August of 1969.

It sounds like they're going to explain how all the illusions and special effects work, which would be worth the price as a unique experience if they walked you through HM demonstrating them, which isn't practical while the ride is running. I agree that standing outside HM talking about all the special effects going on inside the building sounds like a let-down for the price. But from what I've heard the tours are nearly always quality experiences, so I've got to believe they've got something special in the works that isn't obvious from the description.I have to admit I'm so happy we went last year because this isn't nearly as appealing.

But I am soooo ready for commitment! I promise!!!
LOL, I botched that. I meant "they're not ready to commit"!![]()
They are driving me nuts with this delayed posting of hours! I'm going to call this morning, you know, and be annoyingI figured.... but it was still funny. And *I* am ready... more than ready... to commit! Darn commitment-phobic Disney!
I was thinking that too - maybe they are waiting (just like the rest of us) to see whether the increased crowds from the past year will diminish after the 60th or will stick around. Hopefully that means if attendance stays high they won't shorten the hours too much in the off season, but they really can't wait until after 9/5 to make any decisions. It does seem like they are behind in releasing schedules. Maybe because of the end of the 60th??
