I know it is far away, but I have a few questions for you. Is the not so scary halloween party at the MK worth the money for a 4 year old? How will we get back to our hotel? Do the Disney buses run until the park closes after the not so scary halloween party? How late does it get over, we don't want to keep him up very late? How many months in advance do the tickets go on sale? I know these are alot of questions , but any answers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Is the not so scary halloween party at the MK worth the money for a 4 year old?

ABSOLUTELY! We've been four times now. Once when my first child was 18 mos, again when my kids were 2 and 4 mos, last year when they were 3 and 16 mos, and this year when they were 4 and 2. THEY LOVE IT! My 4-yr-old keeps asking when it's going to be Halloween because she wants to go to WDW. They have trick-or-treating stations (there is a map), free face painting (a HUGE hit!), fortune tellers, storytelling, a Halloween riverboat ride, special parades and a special fireworks show. You can also get your photo taken - it is complimentary and is mailed to your home. :)

The buses run until 1 hour after the party ends.

How late does it get over, we don't want to keep him up very late?

It ends late - 11pm or midnight. One or both of the kids usually fall asleep in the stroller before it ends.

I can't remember! Maybe someone else can give you a definite answer, but I think we usually buy our tix a couple of months in advance. You can also purchase tix at the MK if the date you want to attend is not sold out.

If you have any other questions, fire away, and I'll try to answer. :)

PS - We are going again this year! Can't wait!!!! This year will have a 3-month-old with us!

I am glad that you asked this question about taking a 4 year old because we will be attending MNSSHP for the first time with our dd.

Thanks!

We took our 3yo DD to MNSSHP for the first time this past Oct.30th. She still talks about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually we are going again in two weeks and she was very disappointed when I told her that the Halloween party is only in October.

The party started at 7:00. We left around 9:30. But I was surprised at how many families with little ones were still around and planning to stay till close to the end. In our time we trick or treated, got our pictures with Minnie in costume and Rolie Polie Olie and Zowie, had our MNSSHP picture taken, rode IASW, Carousel, Dumbo, Pooh, saw the parade and fireworks. We went on a sold out night and although there were lots of people they seemed to be dispersed throughout the park doing lots of different activities that lines were not long. It felt very festive and truly a party atmosphere that we all enjoyed.

I think I bought my tickets around the end of May. I know our date Oct. 30th and the 31st sold out in advance so if you are planning on those nights get your tickets early!
