Halloween without MNHSSP

What do you recommend to do if we are in Disney World and are not going to MNSSHP on Halloween- October 31st. Will the non-park restaurants like Chef Mickey's be decorated for Halloween. Should I take the kid's dressed up somewhere? Is there a neighborhood I should take the kids to go trick or treating- maybe celebration.

I have two daughter 7-9. Thanks.

That is the day we are leaving. This is the first time for us to be at Disney in Oct. From what I have read I don't know if restraunts will be decorated or not. But I wouldn't be suprised if they were. If your not going to MNSSHP I have read that you can go to DTD. But I don't know if that is just the weekend of Halloween or all the way through Halloween. What I would do is when you check in to your resort would be to ask them. By that time I am sure they can give you some good insight on what to do that day.

Once Upon a Toy, Mickey's Groove, West Side Pin Cart, 1st Floor DisneyQuest, Mouse House,

Team Mickey's and Hotel Plaza Resort Merchandise Locations.

ACTIVITIES and ENTERTAINMENT]

Kids DJ Dance Party at the Dock Stage (Marketplace)

Two Kids' Costume Parades will be featured

Vote for your Favorite Jack O Lantern on October 30, winner displayed on the 31st

Photo Opportunities throughout the Marketplace and the West Side

Ghosts and Goblins appearing throughout the Marketplace area

Skeleton Stilt Walkers appearing at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00

Balloon Artists at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00

Magician Performs at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30

Juggling Duo Performs at 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30

This event may be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or inclement weather.​

The Boardwalk and from what I understand DTD (though I've never been) both have things going on Halloween night. We went to the Boardwalk two years ago with our girls, who are right around the same age, and they had an absolute blast. They trick or treated all along the Boardwalk, danced with the DJ, decorated cookies and did some other crafty type things that they had set up at some tables. Mickey was even there in costume posing for pictures. We really had a lot of fun. Have fun!

The boardwalk sounds even better since it sounds less crowded and we've never been to the boardwalk.

Is this info. for this year too? I found the info. at the DIS but I didn't know it was updated since the info. for Pleasure Island still said 2004. Would you recommend Oct. 30th over the 31st, as far as less crowds?
