Kenosha, Racine, Gurnee??? We are in Waukesha, WI

Do you go to Fright Fest? We thought it was pretty cool until we discovered HHN. My friends always ask about HHN and if it is like Fright Fest. I said you can't even compare it, you have to experience it to understand.

I've gone to HHN since 99-05 also. I this year is going to be so awsome. May I ask why are you skipping HHN this year?

Hey everybody, always wanted to go, looks like this may be the first year I will get to go to HHN. But I am confused as to what it is, I mean I know they have creatures everywhere and several haunted houses, but do the other rides close? Is it the normal park like any other time (all rides open regular hours?) other than just everything is scary and halloweeny? What is the deal, i don't want to go if the regular rides are going to be closed. I am guessing they don't close the rides, but do they change them? I take it they don't put a halloween costume on the T-Rex at the end of the River Adventure or anything like that? Thanks in advance.

Don't go to HHN for the rides. You can do that during the day. But yes, select attractions are open during HHN.

Ok, so the rides close at night when they open the haunted houses up? But during the day time the rides are open like regular? Thanks

rides close down at closing time during the day . people in line will be able to get on that ride when it does.

the rides reopen when stay and scream areas are let out into the park.

the only rides that will not be available during the daytime are the ones used for hhn/as in houses/ in the evening.

there is talk that jaws could be sectioned off for a house. don't know if this is true or not, too soon to tell. i check scream scape for the rumors.

if it is, and the set up can't be changed around for hhn, then it could be closed during the daytime.

when hhn was at ioa, the coasters have to shut down at a specific time due to noise ordinance.

hi neighbor......

2 miles from kenosha border is my home.

i know where waukesha is, son lives in menomee falls.

season pass holders for 6 flags for 14 years now.
do fright fest to pass the time when i return from hhn. many years ago fright fest was kewl. they used to have scareactors galore but limited ones now. you are correct, it does not compare to hhn !!
been doing universal since 1992.

We will be buying the Frequent Fear Passes again. :goodvibes And we have PAPs, so we love getting in early and getting out when it gets crowded and crazy. We can get half the place done before the evening really even starts.

There is a haunted house in the Jaws queue (Dungeon of Terror) but the attraction will remain open. I rode it the other day. They have the normal entrance closed off, but a section of the queue (approximately 1/3rd) is still functional. They're probably praying the ride doesn't have any long lines in the coming months. Thankfully, it has a large capacity.

I have a question, I boooked my hotel room at Royal a while ago and got the kids their park tickets. DH and I have not gotten our tickets yet or our HHN park tickets either. Can will still do the stay and scream? Or did we have to do at time of hotel booking? Can you can the frequent fear pass with that or just the one night?

call universal and ask them why you do not have your tickets yet.
there might be an error so get ahold of them.

give them your ressie number and they can look it up.

one time, and only one time, i did not get my tickets in the mail.
i waited 2 weeks and then called as my friend booked same time i did and they had theirs 10 days later.

i don't know without checking the site for prices but i thought the fear pass was for non peak nights and would cost more than a one day hhn ticket.

i could be wrong, no one quote me here until i go back and check it out.

I've never been to this event before but we will be there for the opening 29 & 30th Sept.

Can anyone give me anymore info as I am trying to talk my husband into it but just keeps saying I will be too scared!!!

Do you recommend it? Is it just Universal or Islands as well?

Any help would be appreciated?

Thanks

Claire

hhn will be at the studios this year.

i go solo and i am not scared. if your hubby doesn't want to go, go by yourself and you will have fun.

there are houses and scarezones you will encounter during hhn.
opening weekend is always fun!
i have done opening weekend twice, since then i go the second weekend so i can hit 3 nights in a row.
i'm not living locally but in chgo area so i plan to do 3 nights.

Macraven, HHN isn't going to be a two park deal this year?
The last time we went it was in IOA and it was awesome. We went in '98 and it was in the old part.....
Any other info?
HHN's site is getting up and running with their Behind the Screams (past party highlights) going up to 1996.
The Productions Die-Ries has an Introduction video, pretty good!
The guy was standing at the Bates Motel, which, as I recall was never there when I've attended, although my husband went in either '90 or 91 and he said it was there.
Based on that video, I'm guessing they're goin' Old Skool and bustin' the Bates Motel open again!

Claire,
I'm a scaredy cat, too, but it is just SOOOOOOOOMUCHFUN!!!!!
Having two kids (who are now teens) you get sick and tired of the Barney - Lizzie McGuire type fun.. You long for the fun you had Before Kids....(at least, that's me!) and when I get myself over to HHN's I feel like I'm in Heaven (or Hell!) I so look forward to going back. It's been three years, but 2003 feels like yesterday

Only one park this year (Studios) and no parade either.

Those parades were real cool; in fact, if you miss them, check them out on the HHN's site, they're fun to watch :)
Any other info?
