I wouldn't rule out a parade at this time.

I'm hoping that they'll have one, but I'm reading that early plans are that they won't.

:rolleyes1
just wanted to make that clear............... :teeth: :rotfl2:

the very first time i went alone and in line for a house, some gal turned around and grabbed me around the neck and hung on for dear life.

i think that scared me more than anything.............i didn't know her.

after she let go of me, i let the couple behind me go ahead of me and that was the next person this gal of 20 something grabbed the next time she got scared...........lol

Not like there is anything wrong with that....

BTW did I tell you last time I got scared so bad I hit the floor??? No Grabbing here just crawling and crying.... :rolleyes1

I'd like to get a group together for opening night..if anyone is interested? I'm waiting to see if and how much EP will be that night.

Anyone want to try and meet up? I'll probably be flying solo that night. :teeth:

Need some advice. We are planning on going to HHN either on the 21st or the 22nd. Since the Tennessee/Alabama ballgame is the 21st, it's looking more like Sunday the 22nd. Can't miss those Vols! Will Sunday be extremely crowded? Is there enough time on Sunday since it closes 2 hours earlier than Fri. or Sat. to accomplish all we need to accomplish? We are mainly going for the houses. Out of curiousity, what rides have been open in the past? I missed Jaws on our Jan. trip (closed) and was so dissapointed so I know that I will definately hit that one if it is open...and it's looking like it might be :) :) Do we still need to get the express pass for a Sunday night? Does the stay & scream benefit you that much? Just needing to know what tickets to get. Let me know all you universal experts! TIA

we all have different opinions but i will tell you what i would do.

you will have more crowds at the mid to end of the month than you would the first 2 weekends for hhn.

you can do and see everything if you go on sunday.
be in the park during the day and do the rides then as much as you can.
around 5ish, go to the designated area for stay and scream.
you will be able to get a head start on the houses. at least 2 houses will be operating for the s & s guests. once the general public is admitted into the park, you will see crowds over the next hour building.

buy the express pass plus for the sunday night. a limited number of them is sold. do not wait until that day to buy them, purchase them in advance.
the epp will give you head of the line entrance for each house ONE time and the same for the rides and attractions.

i need to do the houses more than one time each night i am at hhn.
i do the stay and scream and get 4 houses completed before lines form.
once it is about 8:30, i start to use my epp for the house lines.

i go to the park during the day and do the main rides. i also walk around the entire park so i can figure out where the scarezones might be. since it will be very dark once the sun goes down, i have a better feeling for direction if i do a few walk thrus during the daytime.

if your group is small and you start early, have the epp, you can do everything in the park by midnight on a sunday.

i fly down for hhn each year. i always go fri, sat, sun and buy the epp.
i stay at the on site hotel and use the fotl card for rides/attractions during the daytime. i devote the hhn evenings to the houses, and scarezones.

this is how i tour the parks and hhn.
everyone has priorities and might not have the same opinion as i do.

tour the parks any way possible in order to have fun and enjoy yourself at the event

maybe others will post on how they tour the park for hhn on a non peak night

thanks macraven! You've given me a game plan. We always visit US/IOA when we go to Disney and we were at US/IOA in January. the rides are not a priority to us (with the exception of Jaws...I just love that ride and it was closed down in January.) The houses are what we are going for. We want to be scared. If went just buy HHN tickets with the express pass plus, will we still be able to get everything down by midnight? I would rather be at Disney that day and do HHN that night.

IOA will be closing at 7 pm.
studios will be closing at 5 pm unless the calendar has changed since i last looked at it.
hhn will be at the studios for hhn.

if it was me and i wanted to do both theme parks, i would do disney at their opening time and then leave by 2:45 for universal. traffic should not be an issue at that time and you could be at UO in 20 minutes.

you can do one of 2 things then:
enter studios and do rides from 3 to 5. look around at the set up and see where the screamzones are. see where the houses are located so you know which direction to take when it is dark outside.

or

do rides at ioa from 3 to 4:45 then go to the studios side for stay and scream.

i have been to 5 years going on 6 this season to hhn.
the last 2 years the crowds have grown. i have been able to do everything on a non peak night as long as i have a plan.

but then, i have started my fun on a friday........do sat.........then sun......
maybe i have been able to hit everything on a sunday since i knew the layout of the park for hhn at that time?
the crowds are nothing once it is about 12:45 at night
i stay until it closes since i stay at hrh in the past.

i think if you get to the parks before ioa closes at 5, you can see it all.
the most people i have had in my group has been 3 total.
if you have a larger group, you may have different interests in what to do that night. if that happens, it can slow you down.

either way, i would buy the epp
i have been buying them the last 3 years. i consider it like insurance.
if i need it, i have it.
in 05 and 04, it was crowded on the nights i went and without the epp, i would not have seen everything each night except for that sunday.
the next day was columbus day and most people had the day off work for that monday. even with that, last year on the sunday holiday weekend was doable.

from what i know, jaws will be operational during hhn.

there will be a house in that location.

i missed jaws last year as it was closed.
heavy sigh.......... :sad2:

Since this year's HHN is at Universal Studios, where will they have the Bill & Ted show?

you are welcome.

i enjoy helping others out and answering questions based on my personal experiences at UO and HHN.

for what i do not have the answers to, there are others here that do.
we work like a team here.

Hey MacRaven,
You said something about 12:45...What time does it close?

When we go we have to leave before 12 to pick up the kids from the NeverLand Club, but this year my father in law is coming and he's taking the kids for the whole night! WooHoo!!

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Banana! Get Busy!

I've gone to HHN since 99-05 also. I this year is going to be so awsome. May I ask why are you skipping HHN this year?
1) I won't get in free. I did when I worked at Universal.
2) I'm bitter about the BTTF situation.

peak nights hhn closes at 2:00am
people start leaving around 12:30 for the most part and the crowds are very thin around 1ish in the morning. that is why i commented on a much smaller crowd when it is going on 1 am on those nights. sorry to have confused you.

non peak nights such as wed, thur and sun, hhn closes at midnight.

So the park closes at 2:00 a.m. Does that mean the haunted mazes close beforehand or does Everything stay open until then?
I know during the night they'll be crowded, and we're not getting the FOTL Express Pass. Should we just wait to do the mazes until after it thins out?
Thanks again
