You guys are funny!

Thanks Teri. I did have a good time.

Kristin, did you end up booking for your aunt? Mousesavers gave me a lower quote than DCL. I'm waiting for Dreams to get back to me. I think her own room is the best way to go. I think category 4 (although the cheapest option) is just too small for 3 adults and 2 kids.

Jen,
Congratulations on your "good fortune" at the casino. Sounds like you had a terrific time!

Teri,
I always enjoy reading your posts....I can tell you ARE a beautiful person! And who could resist a "pooh hug"?!

Buck,
How are your kids all healthy???

Terri,
Our favorite restr..I would have to say is either Canada in Epcot or Norway since the kids enjoy the princess breakfast and dinner there???

New Question:

WHat is the craziest thing you have seen while at WDW or on the DCL????

Well....

I think Disney does a pretty good job of keeping things predictable at their parks and on the ship... so all I can think of that was extraordinary is at Disneyland... ( I kno it was not WDW or DCL) ... but at DL they have several princesses meeting kids around sleeping beauty's castle... and on one occasion the princesses had finished their day and gathered off to one side to sit down and have a quiet chat with a small cluster of kids. They were out there for a good hour having a little chat and they played some simple games with the kids. It was really so wonderful to have an intimate visit with Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, the Evil Queen, and so on. There might have been another princess in there that I can't recall right now.

SO... welcome back Princess Olivia - we'd love to see some pictures if you have an album suitable for public sharing!

And JEN, what a haul! That must have been some jackpot you hit on the trip! Or wuz it just a sack of cash you found by the pool? :rotfl2:

At any RATE....The next question.... what kind of pets do you keep?
I'll volunteer that we have a 110 pound Samoyed (dog). He's about 9 years old.... we found him through Samoyed rescue and adopted him 6 years ago. He's so laid back and relaxed it seems he's always sedated or something like that! :goodvibes

I gotta go pick up my girl from school now... she expects me to take her shoping tonight!

TTFN

buckifan- Thank you so much for the sweet words. I look forward to meeting you in person and would love to give you a great big pooh hug. pooh:

Teri

As one seen the thread about the magic going to europe???

In response to your question???

We keep a cat only who is enough work and he is ten and blind.....
Crash how is the other thread going??? I am happy to see you are still with us you had me nervous that you were going to leave us....he he.....

Next question????

What is the best vacation spot you have ever been???

 I've had the good fortune to sail with Teri and Rick "Halloween 2004" they are the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Here is my Question- What is your favorite ride at Magic Kingdom?
BUZZ LITE YEAR

what kind of pets do you keep?
FISH, FISH and more FISH About 60 of them at one time. I was into breeding Bettas (Satin Flames) for a short time. We had big tanks, medium tanks, small tanks and about 30 little bowls, my dining room looked like a fish factory. I had to spend hours every day cleaning bowls. I found good homes for all but 20, which I wanted to keep.
:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

What is the best vacation spot you have ever been???

Anguilla. The most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. The island folks are super nice. No crowds.

My question is a two parter about your cruise excursions
Part One: Tell us what you have planned.
Part Two: Will you be doing them on your own or with DCL.

Saying good night to all  .

Well....

ON St Thomas "I" want to hop a taxi to catch a ferry to St John... where I'll rent a center counsel boat to motor around St John to isolated beaches for a picnic... plus see the island from the unusal vantage point from the water. The boats are 6-10 person depending on size and half day rate runs only about $75 versus $140 for a full day. I saw a thread with great links on this last year - but I was not feeling so hot on last septembers' Magic cruise when we were in St Thomas... so I stayed aboard to look after our two ailing kids. We all had some sort of wierd delibiltating eye discomfort. Alicia went ashore alone to power shop for a few hours. She's pretty good at that (power shopping) and we'd been to St thomas maybe 5 or 6 times so she knew her way around. She is amazin at sorting through the deals... and uncovering good finds... my only problem was that I was her porter when we had no actual porters... so my back and our stuffed luggage sufferred.

On St Martin we're just gonna try to hit the butterfly farm and the public beach by Coral World. Maybe we'll even go into coral world if it looks worth while from the outside. Last year we rented a van and split it with another family. We ended up just wandering completely around the island... so this tiime we'll be a little more direct about where we'll go I think... but in the end we could just switch verything aroufd for objectives as we get into our rental car/van.

In Castaway Caye we'll just relax at length. Play in the sand, relax in the shade, swim and eat. No odd adventures planned.

So... it's pretty obvious we will not be needing the DCL shore services. We pretty much might do ANYTHING if we discover something hot and unusal on the DIS or the other cruise forums I lurk through. Frankly, I am game for anything that can be done with an almost 3 and 5.5 year old in tow. As such my kids are pretty tolerant of adventure... but NOT excessive HEAT. As in the mexican or tropical cruises/vacations. Eastern Carib and Hawaii have been the ideal environments to play in for us.

Ginger.... I thought your questions were pretty good (constructive).... thanks for the Q

SO.... as for MY next question... How about something other then a cruise related thing ... (part 1) like... HOW many people were at your last wedding reception? Part 2... where did you have the reception? And for part 3.... How many grooms and maids (is that what they are called) did you have? :confused3

My answer.... We had 2 receptions... one in California at a golf country club with about 120 people and the 2nd reception was in Hawaii at a Chinese Restuarant with about 130. And if you think that's of any interest... consider this... my brother in law (Alicia's brother) had two receptions... one in Hawaii with approximately 135 and another reception in Bangkok Thailand with well in excess of 1500... if not 2000! He married the daughter of a government minister.... and these folks were pretty well connected obviously. They had a TOUR BUS load of guests from Thailand wheel up to the church in Hawaii (Sacred Heart) - and for their travel to the wedding they obviously all spent more than what the average Thai makes in a YEAR (for their trip?). Half were going on from Hawaii to visit Las Vegas while the other half were organized into a group visiting Tokyo. Really huge dollar visits by Thai standards.

Oh well.... contract that against Alicia's sister who almost did NOT have a fromal reception at all. Well... actually they had just a small dinner for immediate family (about 15-20 of us) after the service at the same place Bill Gates ot married at ... but then I think they gave in to some complaints from the expanded family about the lack of a reception ... so they threw together a reception in a hand full of days for maybe 100 or so. It was very very abrupt yet tolerably nice considering how quickly it was created. I got to be their MC and I did not humiliate them contrary to their probable fears. Well... actually here was that instance when I.... :lmao:

Oh yeah... we had 4 groomsmen and 4 maids. No ring bearing toddler... or maybe we did have one... I better go check my wedding photos... LOL! :rotfl2: If Alicia were here she would give me the traditional nastly look and slap or poke me in the side for not remembering this better. As if SHE could answer... and she probably could. :cheer2:

OK.... So ... step right up and share a little of your wedding stories... or what ever seems applicable!

Wedding stories! Boy do I have one! When my Tim and I were engaged, we found out that we were pregnant. We ended up moving up our wedding date.We planned on getting married in the court house and then having a reception later. Well, I had a rough pregnancy ( I am a type 1 diabetic) and was on bedrest from the beg. of my sixth month. On the day we planned to get married, I had a stress test at the hospital. This was at 9:00. All of our family was meeting us at the courthouse at noon. After the stress test, my doctor examined me. And broke my water! I then had to be induced. We had to call all our friends and family and tell them don't go to the courthouse, come to the hospital! Timmy was born 6 hours later over a month earlier than he was due. We got married a week later at the courthouse. We had a reception about two months later with about 100 friends and family. I did have a Maid of Honor and Tim had a best man. It was not as planned, but was definately memorable! We just celebrated our 10th anniversary last Sept.

In regards to my wedding story, my question is: If you have children, tell a story about your pregnancy or the birth of your children.

I really like this game. We are getting to know a lot about each other!

Princess..WOW! That is a good story. Congrats on 10 years!
My pregnancies were terrible. I had hyperemesis where I vomited morning noon and night. I am 5'7" and started my pregnancy with Olivia at about 118. At my 5th month I weighed 109. I was in the hospital a lot! I then developed type 2 diabetes (blood check 5x a day). To cap it all off she was a footling breech and I had to have a C-section. My weight at delivery was 129. 5 months later I got pregnant with Cameron. Same issues except he was a natural birth. Both ways (for me) were awful. God is good to let women forget the pain of childbirth or we would most likely choose to never do it again!

Bucki and Crash, thanks. You won't believe the story, but I'll try to relay it. Craig and I have fun at the Atlantis casino. We don't put out large amounts of money but we have fun. I know this sounds absurd but I truly do have a sick sense when it comes to some things. I am somehow able to feel when something really good or really bad is going to happen and how to make it happen. Anyhow, I walk around the casino until I can "feel" what is going to be lucky for me. It can be anything. This past weekend it was a $5 slot machine. On Saturday I put in $20 and won $1,500. I cashed out and went back to the beach. I HAD to go back on Sunday night. I went back to "my machine" Craig thought I was nuts so he only handed me $20. I hit right away for $500.00 so I played more and hit again for $700.00 then I hit again for another $1,500.00, all off of that one $20. I cashed out with $2,200.00. We were checking out on Monday and went to the beach from 9-11. Took showers and then checked out and because we had time before we had to leave for the airport I told Craig I didn't sleep well and knew that I had to go back to that machine. Again, he thought I was a little crazy ( less so because I had been right twice so far). This time he gave me $100. Long story short on my fifth roll of the handle I hit the machine for $18,000.00!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: . I cried and Craig almost passed out. We had 2 security men and 3 managers helping us. It was one of the most exciting things to ever happen to me!! I will tell you I am lucky with that stuff even though I play infrequently. However, I've never been THAT lucky before. Can you believe I hit three days in a row on the SAME machine?! They actually counted out $18,000 in hundred dollar bills right into my hand right at the machine. I've never touched so much money in my life!! Security had to escort us out. Then to make it even weirder,we called for a cab and a white Limo picked us up. The man said because we didn't actually call for a limo he was only charging us a cab fair!?! It was a lot of really good luck. I'm still flying high!! I'm not telling this story to revel in the winnings. I just think it is so unusual and fortunate and to whomever was watching over me on this trip I thank with all my heart and love (don't forget I lost my beloved grandmother last month, I always was her favorite :goodvibes ). Now we are taking my mom with us on the cruise and we are all so happy!

Jen,
That's story is INCREDIBLE! I'm tempted to pay your way to Vegas just to take you with me! We're not planning a trip to Vegas or anything, but it may be worthwhile! LOL......

So tell me.....do you have a "feeling" that we will be lucky and have excellent weather for our cruise?

D,
Unfortunately it doesn't always work that way. However, I do usually have good fortune on things that I plan so let's hope my luck continues!! It's hard to get on a streak like this because the temptation IS to go for bigger, like Vegas. I've never been. I probably should just count my blessings and continue to stay away ;)

Princess....

I can hardly believe my eyes as I read your wonderful story! That is simply terriffic to hear of such beautiful good fortune for you! I have read and heard of certain machines in Casinos that are the few which pay the advertised "%" of payback... and when you've found a good one then they can "HIT" for nice returns. However, your returns were a little more then "nice"... rather they were "UNDENYABLY AWESOME". $18K is not exactly chump change by any standards. Especially in the form of 180 hundred dollar bills.

So... I take it this was not Vegas wuz it Atlantic City? Or where abouts was it? We're on the west coast and not exactly big gambling types. I'm not embaraassed to say my gambling stakes vary from zero to a few 20s usually.... and once I've won enough to show a modest profit I often quit(!) so I can walk around the rest of the trip and leave town in a "positive" position. And should I lose my initial $20 or $60 stake then I quit til another day and try again. And if my total losses exceeds $100 much then I quit for the trip and consider it entertainment $ or another hotel nite where we did not sleep in the room. Any more then that and I think we might start to think about what the money could have bought otherwsie... and actually most of the time we probably don't do any gambling at all. NOW... the kids' carnival games are another issue entirely and I spend incalculable sums trying to win the unwinnable bear or stuffed animal! I just get chills when I see a field of soda bottles with those naty little wooden 3" diameter rings... 8 for a dollar is so tempting for a nearly impossble challenge... and would you believe I actually WON one of the grand prize giant animals (a unicorn 4'x4')? that was about 20 years ago and I have not been able to win another since.... :furious: BUT my daughter won the tic tac toe throw some 6 out of 9 times in one sitting! Amazing!

BUT... with YOUR kind of magic touch I'm almost inclined to take up gamblin' and follow your leads! My cusin used to say she had a similar touch... and she usually DID with the slots. And my spouse THINKS she might have a touch with the slot machines... but I'm afraid she probably does not. Heck... they never "set" the nickle machines for a decent payoff ratio so we always have a tough time getting better then 50% returned per sitting on those cheapi machines! LOL....

So as for the question... I
ll have to wait for my spouse to come home and offer details as mine are pretty sketchy... having not given birth personally ya' kno! And if someone else answers then I'll try to get an answer out of my spouse and reply later in combination with the current question of the hour! :)

And so... our gymnastics party planning for saturday is winding down. We had another confirmation today and out tally stands at 22 with 15 girls and 7 boys. We had approximately 95% of the invited boys confirm and about 50% of the girls accept. Does this mean that a sgnificant number of girls are not the physically active gymnastics sort? Or does this mean that for some reason the boys 95% acceptance is not comparable to the 50% acceptance of the girls? We DID hand pick a few boys we knew were in her gymnastics class or otherwise best pals with Julianna... and the girls were simply a list with EVERY girl in her preschool class plus bible study AND a few of my friends who had kids of the right age. Well... actually, 95% of the kids from our bible study and from among my friends accepted. So only about 33-40% of the school girls accepted. Hmmm..... curious.

At any rate, we're working out the menu for friday and it looks like it will involve Costco heavily and an outside restuarant for a couple of catered trays. And for the moment it looks as if our thank you goodie bags are gonna cost in total as much as the gymnastics host is charging. I almost think this is geting out of hand seeing as we have 2 daughters and the B-day girl is only turning 5.

Well... Igues I should not gripe much since it's not as if we're spending over $1000 for the whole thing... and I suspect some folks probably do go over the top for things like this and our budget is not that far off of a grand now. :confused3

Anyone have any advice for goodie bag things? We bought a bunch of costume jewelry from Clairs, and my souse is having me meet her at Party City tonight to load up.

Jen, Still can not believe that you won..Sooo cool.. what was the final verdict with the whol cabin thing what one did you get her???

Buck,
How are the kids and all????

Crash, I was at the Atlantis hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. Remember in all I only put about $150.00 of my own money in to that machine and I ended up with 22k. Honestly, we aren't big gamblers we just have fun and when we are down we go home. I was just VERY lucky and my intuition was especially strong this past weekend. When it happened I cried and Craig almost passed out. My hands were soaking wet and shaking with emotion! I still can't believe it!

Kristin we booked a cat 8 on deck 5 for my mother. When we got home from Friendly's Cam was feeling really sick so I'll call you back tomorrow. I have to substitute for one of the first grade classes tomorrow and her class is very difficult, I'm not looking forward to it. Hopefully Cameron is better or they'll need a sub for the sub!!

Jen that's wonderful. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Will you be stopping into any of St. Maarteen casinos?

CaptC.thanks, asking questions comes :magnify: natural to me. :listen: I love details. BTW could you give me a little more info on that boat rental www. site at St. John. Weather permitting we'll be cabbing it to Red Hook to ferry on over to St.John also. We were just going to Trunk Bay for fun in the sun but boating around sound even better.
Teri, I got bad news today :scared: My papers are in order and I have to return to the work world at 7:45 a.m. Monday morning. :furious: My vacation will be offically over. I'll never get time to post here again :sad2:
I hope I get to go on this cruise, please send pixie dust. :worried:

Ginger good luck with the job...We will miss you and hope that you will be able to join us...

Capt,
I hear you with the whole party thing they can get out of control I felt like htat with mine...

Anyone see the travel channels special on DCL just finsihed watching it was cool and informative...

What no more questions or are we just doing it on the weekends??

Hey where has dave and fran been??????

Ginger- Thanks for the sweet words. I am looking forward to seeing you again. I know you have mixed emotions about going back to work, but I know you will be glad to be back. :cheer2: Are you still making quavaberry Colada's?

captaincrash- We went to Coral World and Coki Beach next to CW 2 years ago and really enjoyed it. Rick did the helmut dive and really enjoyed it.They have lockers there you can rent. We rented one and changed into our bathing suits to go to the beach. You can get your hand stamped, come back and shower, then have time to shop before returning to the ship.

Princess Olivia- WOW!!!! That is fantastic. We one around $500.00 last time we were at Atlantis, but have never been as lucky as you. I was excited on our Carnival cruise in January when I one $100.00. I would have nearly
passed out too.

Well.... Kristen.... this was the last question and it seems to deny ME a chance to respond as I need my dear spouse to step forward and relate her stories. So the game is alive and well once I get my spouse to give me some input. In the mean while if anyone wants to contribute an answer. please do so as I plan on sharing our answer regardless. And we'll probably answer any other recent unaddressed questions too provided we can produce a valid response!

Anyways we're trying to get the kids to sleep now. It's actually early for them and it's 10:44 right now! Yeah we run a pretty crazy schedule with no early morning schedules.

and Ginger.... I'm digging for the St John boat rental info. My inital search did not uncover the corret firm. Give me another day or so to gather the details. And thanks for the Oriental trading referral but my needs are pretty close ... so we are gonna have to settle for ideas that can be supplied locally.

Cheers....! pirate:
