Halloween at Disney

anyone know if the other parks do anything on the 31st as I would say MK will be very busy

Thanks for the link

does anyone know the times of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

PRINCESS JACKSON- Hey thats exactly what I thought, so we booked for next year, it would be great to see you again if your over at the same time!

kaylee great information, I LOVE halloween, and seeing this years dates gives me an idea of next years, prices and what happens, thanx again

I did MNSSHP on 31st Last year and I didn't find it over crowded at all - we managed to do all the rides with no wait, we didn't even have to get in line long for our obligatory picture :)

I'm going to do 31st again this year and the 26th. 26th I'm dressing up as Jessie unless I've managed to lose a load of weight before then, then I may just go as Ariel. Not dressing up on 31st at the moment, but that could change.

Can't wait for the tickets to come on sale. Has anyone made their ADR's yet?

I've heard that they're thinking of introducing some sort of halloween party at MGM, but scarier than MNSSHP....

All rumour at the moment though!

We have been for Halloween celebrations before but this will be the first time we are there on Halloween night not sure what to do on the actual night - probably go to Downtown Disney cos i hear that they have a lot going on ....? and hit MK and UIOA for their halloween nights before. Getting excited now seeing the dates released. Does anybody know when the UIOA dates and ticket sales are released? Sorry i've just put this on the "october hours" thread as well - but "you lot" may know more. Be good if MGM did something too that woud definately rival UIOA but UIOA is soooooo scarey i'm not sure if i could visit both, i'm sure DH would talk me into it though :)

Sorry, me again. In the UK we all dress up as witches and scarey monsters, i know in the USA they tend to dress as characters. What are the costumes like at MMNSSHP? We don't have kids so just me and DH.

what kind of characters? Do you mean disney characters? Perhaps that's true in WDW, but it's not true anywhere else.

In the US people dress up as anything and everything (i remember growing up i always dressed up as a ballerina, my sister as a witch - since she was born on halloween she actually is a witch, so dressing up as one wasn't really dressing up).

Witches, ghosts, ghouls, vampires, etc. (and of course things like freddie kruger) are certainly appropriate in the US on Halloween.

The first Halloween after we moved here our DD dressed up as the Cat in the Hat to go to a Halloween party, needless to say she got laughed at! :guilty:

When DH was growing up Halloween was his favourite holiday and yet he has never been to any of the Disney parks in Oct. Anyway next year we are going to rectify that, we've booked our trip for the end of Oct so we can do both MNSSHP and our DD's can go trick or treating at DTD! :cool1:

Were waiting to book this too :) A couple of questions :teeth:

Is the park closed to other guest.... Only open to guests with MNSSP tickets. Are the rides open? We can't wait to go but don't really know alot about it :lmao:

Any info would be a great help.

Thanks

Are the rides open? Yes :)

On the MNSSHP days the MK closes earlyish to regular guests. MNSSHP guests can come in a while before the park closes. At the appointed hour the regular guests are chased out and the MNSSHP guests (with their wrist bands) are corralled into well defined areas, whilst this is happening and the park is getting ready for MNSSHP.

Most if not all of the rides are open. There are candy stops around the park - everyone gets a candy sack. We are still working our way down the candy.

We were there last year and on our day it was rather wet and chilly. DS was ill so DW took him back to the hotel early. I stayed for the fireworks and parade (which were both good).

We didn't dress up. However, some of the costumes were interesting - large American ladies in rather too much spandex. The other thing that amused us was families dressed in theme (one family dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz [with the mother as Dorothy, rather than the daughter!]).

I think it was worth it, but it would have been better if it hadn't been so darn cold and wet.

:) Chris

For the past 2 years my friends and I have dressed up as the Pink Ladies - year before last the CM's on Splash let us go around again and again without getting off as long as we kept singing them songs from Grease it was a hoot! :rotfl:
