Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

Good evening everyone!

Send Amanda to the grocery store for dinner and she brings home more FE stuff. How fun!

We went to see Jersey Boys last night and it was amazing! I would recommend it to anyone, even if you didn't grow up listening to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. After that we went for dessert. So today, I feel whipped. It amazes me on how tired I get nowdays doing thing that I have always done.

We leave in 15 days and I don't have anything organzied. So I started my packing list and spreadsheet today.

Still trying to deciede if we are doing MVMCP or not on 11/8. Not sure.

Have a great night!
Annette

My 4-year-old is a little chef around the house. We were wondering if they would allow her to attend the cooking school in the Oceaneer Lab if mommy or me were with her. Does anyone have an idea if that sort of thing is allowed?

Hey Everybody,

I'm back!!! I was spending way too much time here, and getting far too type A over this trip, so I tried to ignore it for awhile. Now I feel like I don't have enough time to get everything done before we go. Either too high strung or too laid back - just can't find a happy medium. Oh well.

For the FE, we have cabins 7004 and 7006. Kids are Michele (11),Jessica (9), Antonio (8) and Julia (5). Staci and I (Steve) are mom and dad (ages unknown).

Still trying to figure out Halloween costumes for the kids (they wanted to be vending machines - that would be interesting to pack!)

I felt far more prepared for this trip about 3 months ago than I do now. Aargh!

Hi Sailworkless

Glad to hear the rumor that you dropped out of the cruise weren't correct. I am happy that I can let my daughter know there will definitely be another 5 year old girl on the cruise.

Just a quick question, will both cabins be participating in the FE or just one? Trying to peg down how many gifts I need to ship next week before we leave for WDW.

We have finally found my daughters costume for Halloween. She is so excited. We also put together a makeshift pirate costume for her. I think her dad has even decided to participate in pirate night.

Well hope to see you guys on the cruise.

Sorry for the confusion my Disney OCD caused. I was making Staci a bit crazy with the planning, so I had to avoid the dis for awhile. I've been given the green light to go back into OCD mode for the next couple of weeks. Our wish granters from Make a Wish are coming for the official Wish Party on the 25th. I think everyone is going to be a bit nutso after that. Maybe it'll make me seem calm.

My 5 year old told me last night that she can't wait to get into the kids club to make some new friends. She's decided that she needs some cruise friends. Apparently, the 5 new 'best' friends she has in kindergarten aren't enough.

I would count us as one cabin. We're split into 2 because there's 6 of us. In fact, I just realized that I ordered 1 FE so, I guess we'll just put it on 7006.

Ok all its going to be a crazy next couple weeks so I'd like to lock down FE list. Im updating when I can. Lost the laptop so I'm using cell. Please check my signature for list anf make sure I didnt lrave you and ypur family off

Not sure if anyone has already posted this but I thought those of you who are as excited as I am wouldn't mind a second posting. One of the cruisers on the Western Magic Oct 1st - 8th cruise posted copies of the new Navigators, menus, and a lot of other information from their cruise. It has been so much fun to read over all the new stuff.

Just remember since we are on a special Holiday cruise we will have a few differences.

I'm attaching the link for those who would like to check it out.

Good morning! Thursday - that is a good thing. Lots to do this weekend, need to get everything lined up and ready to go as this is my last weekend to be home before we leave. There are a few odds and ends (DH and I both need new socks) I need to pick up but that is about it. Can't wait!!!

I went through Marisol's FE list and it looks right to me. I just hope that those of you in the life boats get your assignments soon. Did we decide if anyone was going to put a whiteboard on their door so that any changes can be noted? I would happily take mine from the PC trip but I am 'in the way back' on deck 5 (5150) so not very convenient. I will take it anyway as I don't want to miss anyone.

Well, have a great day - soon it will be our turn!

WOW! They posted everything and every paper from the cruise. It will take me all day to get through it all!! Thanks for the link Desiree!!:yay:

I have only a few days off between now and the cruise. Today I figured I would do laundry and finish up the fe's. Now 16 year old says I have to go food shopping. Why is it I go food shopping almost every day I am off work and as she would put it "there is never anything to eat in this house!!"

My dh and ds own very few pants other than blue jeans. I read on another site that jeans were not allowed at dinner. Does everyone think jeans with a nice polo for cruise casual dinners would be okay. It's so hard to dress them up:rolleyes:

Be back later-- the dryer is calling me!!:laundy:

OMG! Really? I am such a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl and I, too, don't own many pants other than jeans! Big dilemma!

You will see people dressed in most everything at dinner including jeans (nice ones) with buttondown shirts/polos, capris on the ladies as well. Early on in DCL's life, they requested no jeans at dinner but I think they had a lot of complaints and relaxed it a bit. I enjoy getting a bit dressed up for dinner so that is what we do but this is your vacation so don't stress about it.

I copied this from the FAQ on the DCL website.
On 7-night cruises:

First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
Three additional "cruise casual" nights—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
One formal and one semi-formal night—formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress; semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress code at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress pants and shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit
Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, flip-flops or tennis shoes

Thanks Gail. I usually dress up my jeans with nice shoes and nice top and makeup and jewelry. I'm not messy. :)

Thanks!!

I should not multi-task. Nor did I mean to imply that you didn't wear nice jeans. What I meant and left off when I typed that was that you will see nice ones all the way to the torn and frayed/full of holes kind. That is what I get for answering the phone and loosing my train of thought. Sorry, did not mean to offend anyone.

Gail,

In no way was I offended. Nor did I perceive your post in that way. No worries. haha:hug:

Thanks for the info!!!

So...Paolo is shirt *OR* jacket? I guess I'll try arriving in just a jacket and see how that goes over.

But seriously, I am planning on wearing my utilikilt to Paolo, as I am at V&As during the land portion of the trip.

Just 10 days until we leave for WDW - we'll be just about to depart from Lorton, VA on our first AutoTrain adventure just about a half-hour from now on the 23rd.

Ok Tim...just any fyi...on my last cruise, one of the guys that was going, we had him wearing chaps and a hot pink tank top.....so if you dont want to ware that outfit, I would suggest that you ware more than a suit jacket...:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Desiree - thank you for the awesome link! :worship: I know what I'll be doing for the next couple of days!
