Halloween 2011. Oct 29th on the Magic

Morning All:

Another Monday and no "holiday" off for our office:crazy2:
But only 14 more "working" days till we leave :yay:

I booked our dinner at Epcot yesterday morning. I told Wally when we hit our 90 day that we should book something, but he said lets just play it by ear and see, I was not happy as I know that you need the ADR's.
So he ask's me saturday night, were are we having dinner when were at Disney????? Ummmmm didnt you want to play it by ear????
Anyhow, I was still able to get something, just going to do San Angel Inn in Mexico. There was not too much of a selction left.

Denise:banana:
Denise,
You should try the day of also. We have had good luck with that. One time we were riding the attraction in the Land and I was able to snag Via Napoli ressie that was for about an hour later. It was perfect.

Good morning everyone! I was away for 2 days and had a bunch to read here. Well, thanks so much to everyone who said they would add us to their fe list. I truly appreciate it. We are in room #8040. It is me, dh, dd (16),and ds(12).

Annette- How is the pt going? It should help!! It did wonders for my shoulder.

We are hoping to get a brunch or high tea when we get on board. We have a dinner at Palo but I wasn't able to get either of the others. We were never at Palo before and I booked a dinner right away but didn't know we could book more than one type so it was too late when I figured that out.

We have a cabanna on the family beach and I can not justify the cost but I did it anyway. LOL.
I think that we have extras too, so we will add you to our list. Or if Marisol could add the newbies to the list in a seperate column.....that might work to.

I start PT tomorrow. I think I might have over done it yesterday. Went to my store, Best Buy, then Target and then out to dinner. Today my legs are really achy. Oh well, use them or lose them, I guess.

We have tea, brunch and dinner at Palo. I think its too much Palo but Manda wants to do all 3 and for all that she has done for me lately, I can't say no to her. She is the best sister a girl could ask for. :lovestruc

We are at Childrens Hospital today for Stephie's check up. She is having a bunch of tests and hopefully a good report. Maybe this time we can go a year before her next check up. She is busy now learning how to play chess with one of the nurses.
We will be here all day then a 3 hr drive home. It is so sad seeing all the sick little kids but it makes you appreciate your childs health.

I am sending pixie dust for a great check up :wizard:

Hello everyone,
Our family is sailing on the 10/29/11 Magic cruise to the Western Carribean. Besides myself, the travelers will include my wife, daughter (8) and mother. We are interested in joining a cruise meet and participating in leaving gifts for others in their Fish Extenders. Can someone let us know how we can join a group and exactly what is involved? We look forward to meeting some new friends and having a great time on the cruise!

Welcome Jedi73!

Annette- your sister rocks!

Kathie- congrats on the family beach cabana!:woohoo:

Hate to impose, but if anyone gets a high tea ressie or has one with room, mom and I really wanna do tea:cloud9:

We are checking out the navs from last weeks western...cool to see all the stuff. With the swap out of halloween and formal night I know some things are gonna be different, but it is fun to "pretend plan"!

Denise:banana:

Keep an eye on the reservations online as something else may open up - and try when you arrive as well. I have a breakfast reservation at the castle on the 29th that I am not to psyched about but it will get rid of the last or our meal plan and I won't have to get up and go anywhere for breakfast during our stay. I am actually looking forward to going into the MK before it opens.

:welcome: I am sure that Denise will send you what you need for the meet and I will happily add you to my FE list as I know we will have extras.

Well, I think our Indian Summer is coming to a close. I could not get over how many leaves were down when I got home on Sunday - I couldn't see where the driveway was. Sad - but I guess that means our cruise is close. We leave two weeks from today!!!

jastza and Jedi73- I need your stateroom numbers to add you to my FE list!

Good morning everyone! Our countdown chain is getting even shorter now!!!! So much to still do. But still feels to early for me. I do need to get my FE gifts done though;)

Just need Jedi73 cabin #??
Your kids will love the teen and kids areas. My grandsons never want to come out. We told them that we want them to have dinner with us at least 2 nights, there answer was, "Its our vacation too, Gammy. We see you everyday. We like making new friends." How is that for a 4 yr and 6 yr old.. This is their 3rd cruise!! I think they will come out for at least 2 of the movies...
Lots to do this week, Kamgen and I leave for 'The Women of Faith Convention' in Tampa , on Friday for 2 days. Loved it last year. Just finished doing 3 more Pillowcases. My favorite was Tiana , she is so cute..
Have a Blessed Day everyone....

Yahoo! Got a good check up! Stephie is doing well with no signs of the cancer.
She has been feeling good but you never know. We dont go back for 6 months.
:cool1:

It was a long day. I can't understand how you can have an appointment at 1pm and not get seen until 4pm. Then, the visit takes all of about 15 min. ugh! We did not get home until almost 9pm. I fell into bed and was out!

Jedi 73 welcome to the board and we look forward to meeting you.My name is Kathie and I am travelling with my dh Scott, dd Stephie 16 and ds Zac 12. Post your room # and I will add you to our fe list.

Well, have a great day all! I am heading out shopping with my 2 girls--oldest came to visit (she is not cruising because she has to work) I hope look for more fe stuff and cruise clothes.:cloud9:

:banana::cool1::banana::dance3::banana::banana: What awesome news is that. I will never understand appointments and why is it if they are going to be late, they can't call and tell you that? The drive and stress of the appointment was enough without the extra added wait.

DH finally started on the FE's. I will get them boxed and ship them to the port before we leave. Clothes are all on the list and once this last snap turns, I can start hanging them in the spare room for packing. This is our last weekend before we head out so I need to get my stuff on a stick and be ready to rock and roll the following week. I don't like to pack early and it never takes me that long if everything is all ready. Do I dare really wait until the night before??

OK, back to the grind. Enjoy your day everyone!

fantastic news....now thats the kinda news we all love to hear.

Gail, I pretty much have all my clothes ready to go, washed and ironed, just have to wash a couple of shirts for Wally and get thoes ironed then I can start packing. This coming weekend is my "finish the yard and "hopefull" get the bushes trimmed weekend" as the follow weekend, is my "clean and get the house in order" weekend.
I will most likely start packing that Monday and just add the last minute things as I go:thumbsup2

well better run before I get in trouble for being on line here....

That's great CricketMom! Hope you enjoy your visit to my town. Hopefully you'll have nice weather. Have you been to this neck of the woods before? If you need some suggestions on where to go to get a bite to eat, just let me know! I work within walking distance of the forum, so I've tried just about all the local restaurants.

You know, your cabins 'disconnect' from the ship and you can take them for a spin. Does anyone watch our sailing on the reservations site? There are only 4's or higher showing - or that is what was there yesterday.

Still no cabin assignment, but I think I will take this advice and offer life boat tours of Castaway Cay. Maybe, I could even make enough money from the tours to pay for our next cruise. Seriously though, I am getting very excited that our trip is so close at hand.

It will be my happy thought tonight while I toil away at work.

Bill

Thanks Timmerk. So glad you liked them:yay:. I am disabled and have so much fun making them.. Be sure to put tissue in between.:thumbsup2 Hope to meet u at the DisMeet.
Freight Train, we are staying at the Hyatt Regency. We have dinner and breakfast there(paid for). Lunches at the Conventions. But thanks, we are planning sometime to go to Tampa, so the boys can play on the beach.:beach: I'll keep u in mind for info on good (cheap) places to stay and eat!!
We were very Blessed that our church sponsored us and paid all of the expenses.:tink: So close to the cruise...
Bless you all

Bill I got a VGT room for the Sept 24th magic cruise, and our room assignment came through at 9-10 days. The DCL web site says they assign the room number about a week in advance, but I bet you get yours at two weeks. We got a 5B room with VGT, so an upgrade from a minimum of Cat 7. I am sure you will get a good room.

Sorry not on the board much. I let Kathie (JASTZA) do most of this stuff. I just started my own business last month after losing my job and I am stressed out. Need this cruise bad, it is going to be great meeting new friends and hanging with my family.

Tell you what though getting the Disney Vacation Club things when we did was a good move letting us do stuff like this in tough economic times.

Kudos on starting your own business. We live in scary times but I am a firm believer that one can do anything they set their mind to.

Nothing much to report from here. The FE's are coming along nicely but I need to get the 'condiments' that go with them. Guess I will run out at lunch and see what I can come up with.

GORGEOUS here today but I am really thinking that this may be our last day in the 70's. Rain and cooler temps are forcasted starting tomorrow. I really wish that Indain Summer could last about 11 months of the year - LOVE IT!!

What address are you mailing it to? How does that work? I want to do the same thing.

Thanks,

I copied this from the FAQ thread on the main page. It has worked well for me and I have done it multiple times. I always ship it to arrive the week that we sail and am sure that it does not arrive the week prior - I also watch the tracking number and bring that along with me just in case.

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.
