Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

The Holiday Dating Guide. Very nice movie. I figured out early on what the conflict was going to be, way before we (the audience) learned who Michael was.

🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄

I watched Twas the Night before Christmas and HMM Five More Minutes. I enjoyed both. They both had a bit of fantasy - the first was straight up magic and the second was more like "signs" or a leap of faith.

I have noticed in a few movies this season that Hallmark is throwing their big stars in movies in a scene or two as sort of cameos. The two that leap to mind are Kimberley Sustad in the Three Men & a baby movie and last night's Five More Minutes featured a scene with Nikki DeLoach.

Did Michael Rady jump ship to GAC or just get too big for Hallmark? I really love him and haven't seen anything with him lately. He looks good with or without a beard.

Michael Rady was a regular on Chicago Med for a while. Then he did a few episodes of other shows that film in NYC, so he may have moved (his family(?)) here and now doesn't want to travel to Canada now for filming? Or, yes, his career may have just taken off.

and last night's Five More Minutes featured a scene with Nikki DeLoach.

Nikki was in the first Five More Minutes movie that came out last year. Could be why she made a re-appearance.

I think Kimberly Sustad co-wrote Three Wise Men and a Baby? I could be wrong about that but I think I expected to see her show up when I saw the writing credit…

Yes, Kimberley co-wrote the movie with Paul Campbell. I expected to see her in the movie too.

I have noticed in a few movies this season that Hallmark is throwing their big stars in movies in a scene or two as sort of cameos.

A couple other stars showed up in Haul Out the Holly. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. :santa: :teeth:

I loved the HMM The Gift of Peace. I also really love the two leads so that played into it. I had a few tears and a few laughs, just what I want from these movies.
The Gift of Peace meant something different to Tom and me as we watched it together tonight. We had tears in our eyes, and smiled. It’s a good one!

A Fabled Holiday. I had high hopes for this one. I was a bit disappointed. I think it was too much fantasy for me and not really much reality. I think the actors were really trying to "make it real", but it didn't work for me.
🎄 🎄

Yes, Lindsey has one short performance near the end. I wish she was in it more.

I liked this movie. This was my second favorite movie this season, so far. I gave it 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 out of 5. But, I can also see how it may be too much fantasy for some.

I watched A Fabled Holiday this morning and rated it in between the two of you. 🎄🎄🎄
I loved some elements but was kind of put off by others, and I actually liked the main characters better as kids than as adults.

I also watched The Holiday Sitter and really enjoyed it. 🎄🎄🎄🎄

We really enjoyed “ Hanukkah on Rye.”

CBS “Sunday Morning “ had pieces about Hallmark shows as well as one about some Hanukkah traditions. I grew up in North Jersey and certain foods like potato latkes are part of my Eastern European heritage. I looked forward to that movie, and my DH and I were not disappointed!

Sappy Holiday. It seems that I'm liking more of these later offerings. Maybe they save the better ones for last. Anyway, This was a good movie. It was so obvious from the beginning the boyfriend was not a good match. And she relaxed so much once at the farm, you could see the joy in her face.

I just watched and thought this was such a fun movie! Lots of tradition, but modern, well-acted, a twist on the plot line, just a great effort overall!

It looks like fun. I like Jeremy Jordan. He has a lightness about him and can be funny or wryly humorous.

So far, it's at a very high 8.0 out of 10 on the IMDb .com.

I have it set to record in a couple days. But, I see it's also On Demand on Spectrum Cable.

I just picked up some potato latkes last night from Trader Joe's. I'm not Jewish, and I'm sure the Trader Joe's ones aren't as good as some authentically made one's I've had in the past, but it was that or regular potato pancakes. Since it was the start of Hanukkah, I thought I'd get some in celebration of our Jewish friends. 🕎

Darn! I just realize I forgot to get sour cream. :headache:

Hannukkah on Rye

I enjoyed it, mostly. I wasn't immediately swept into the story at the beginning, but once the action moved to New York and the two main characters met I liked it more. I thought Molly was a little too "my way or no way" while Jacob was a bit more flexible. I guess I mean to say I think his concept of the deli was more "right" than hers.

I'm glad they worked it all out (like anyone watching thought they might not?)

Has anyone seen the movie, Last Christmas? It came out in movie theatres a few years ago. It stars Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding. Actress Emma Thompson wrote it. I vaguely remember seeing the promos for it. It has a 6.5 rating on the IMDb .com.

It on Freeform right now. I missed the beginning. It looks interesting.

It re-airs:
Wed 12/21 at 10:30 am on Freeform
It is also On Demand on Freeform.
Thurs 12/22 at 8pm on FX
Thurs 12/22 at 10pm on FX
Sun 12/25 at 12am on FX

I have seen it. I will refrain from commenting for spoiler reasons.

Santa's Got Style.

I thought this one was just OK. I just felt that Madison, as an up and coming administrative person in the business world, should have had her act a little more together.

I did really enjoy Franco Lo Presti as Ethan, he could switch characters quite fluidly.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas

Hmmmm.... sort of a Twilight Zone feel to it. I found it interesting, but not overly thought provoking. Lena was GREAT as a bad actress. I'm wondering if there's, indeed, going to be a "sequel" next year.

🎄 🎄 🎄

I was watching Mrs Miracle again. The one with Caroline Rhea. I wish they would turn that into a series, the way Time for ____ to Come Home has a yearly movie.

The commercials are out for the New Year's Day movie. And right after that it's back to the Golden Girls reruns. The Christmas movies will have ended even earlier in the day on HM&M. It feels like ripping off a bandaid. 🩹
