Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

Ummm, it’s ok. For me it was pretty unbelievable. Plus the heroine is a pop star, and she hurt my ears with being out of tune. It was a different storyline, but for me it was hard to watch.

Wait, I’m talking about Undercover Christmas. That might be a different movie? This one had Stephen Huszar ( I always spell his name wrong 😆)
I think you're talking about the right movie Undercover Holiday has a pop star, Stephen Huszar, etc :)

There is a movie called Undercover Christmas (clearly we're recycling movie titles lol because that one was from 2003) but totally different plot point.

Sounds like I'll probably delete Undercover Holiday and catch it at a later date probably next year. I appreciate your viewpoint :goodvibes

Who has watched Undercover Holiday from Hallmark?

I have just recorded it (pushed it off) and it's not looking good on IMDb on the ratings looking to see if anyone here has watched it and what they thought? Worth a watch or delete and catch it at a later date?

I tried to watch it and turned it off after 15 minutes, right when she started singing. It felt like fingernails on a chalkboard. 😱 Then, another time, I caught the tail end of it, as she was performing. She reminded me of a high school performance, with no polish or finesse. As Worfiedoodles said, it was just too unrealistic and implausible.

I just deleted it about 15 mins ago..so looks like I made the right choice! Thanks for the input :)

So I watched Fit for Christmas (CBS)...eh it was okay 6/10 (a tad generous there not enough for me to do 5/10). I actually liked the side characters better although I thought Paul Greene was good. The lead actress I just couldn't get into. One minute she was extremely perky and upbeat and the next she wasn't and it wasn't the moments where you'd expect that to be the case that bothered me. Like her doing her fitness class yeah she was putting on her instructor voice but otherwise it just didn't work for me. I didn't feel the chemistry either. Would I skip it? Hmm probably if I had other things to watch I wait for this to be one for after Christmas when you're looking for something to watch in winter.

Steppin' Into the Holidays (Lifetime) wasn't bad either 6/10 (but liked it overall more than Fit for Christmas). But again felt like something was off with the chemistry. I enjoyed the banter between the siblings more and I don't think I was supposed to feel that way  But I did like the dancing and the kids.

My Southern Family Christmas (Hallmark)- 8/10. I really enjoyed this one. I believe it was mentioned by people that the focus wasn't the romance but rather family and yup that's what it was. It was a nice movie for that shift in attention. Bruce Campbell may be getting up there in years but he still has it working for him. I enjoyed him last year in One December Night and enjoyed him in this one too. I also liked the Creole culture coming through. I'd def. watch this one again.

Well Suited for Christmas. I started watching this when it premiered, but just couldn't get into it. I believe it was because when there were 4 different channels with 2 new movies showing every day and I was just getting overly dunked in Christmas movies. Anyway, watched it last night. I really did enjoy it. I thought the Brett character was really good and I love the two who played her parents.

🎄 🎄 🎄

Reindeer Games Homecoming. I thought Sarah Drew was just so right for the part and the story was well thought out.

Haven't watched Well Suited for Christmas yet but we did watch Reindeer Games Homecoming. I like Sarah Drew and Justin Bruening together but I think having the secondary character played by Brian Sills really brought it all together. Sarah can be both goofy and serious and Justin usually more serious so I liked the addition of a more light-hearted character to round out the cast.

Thanks for the recommendations for Well Suited for Christmas and Reindeer Games Homecoming. I have both of them recorded and now will save them for later on, knowing I'll have some good ones to watch later in the next couple weeks.

Not Hallmark but I just watched Something From Tiffany’s on Amazon. I really liked this one. Great casting. Better production values 😜

I had gotten some Prime Christmas movies on my list but I guess I missed some. Thanks for the recommendation!

As long as it's Christmas or holiday related, it's good for this thread. Even other romantic comedy movies are welcome too, as I think we are all interested in them. 🥰

I just rejoined Amazon Prime for December, so all my packages won't be pushed back for delivery for a couple weeks. What other good Prime Christmas movies do you guys recommend? popcorn::

We are down to the LAST weekend of new Christmas movies on Hallmark, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, Lifetime GA Family.

2 new movies tonight:

Lifetime: Record Breaking Christmas
Re-airs Fri 12/16 at 12:01am
Starring: Michelle Argyris, Andrew Bushell.
Description: A record book judge travels to a small town that’s hoping to become famous by breaking holiday world records.

Also, I found a couple Christmas movies on the Food Network, when I was scrolling channels last week. The movies were made by the Food Network, in which a famous chef appears in the movie as a supporting character. I got to watch the tail end of one, A Gingerbread Christmas, and another one, called Candy Coated Christmas in which the Pioneer Woman chef, Ree Drummond, was in it, owning a bakery. Christmas food was featured predominately as part of the plot of the movies. The acting was good, and the movie could have been a Hallmark movie. 🎄🎄🎄Unfortunately, those movies aren't repeating again.

However, a third movie is airing tonight:

Food Network: One Delicious Christmas at Midnight (Fri 12/16 on 12am ET.)
Starring: Vanessa Marano, Alex Mallari Jr, and Bobby Flay.
Description: Struggling to keep it all together after inheriting her family’s restaurant and inn, a single woman must find a new chef fast to impress a celebrity visitor.

(All three of these Food Network movies are also available to stream on Discovery+)

Netflix has a few new movies:
  • I Believe in Santa (holiday movie starring John Ducey, Christina Moore, Violet McGraw and Sachin Bhatt. A successful lawyer seems like the perfect boyfriend, until the holidays roll around and he admits he still literally believes in Santa Claus) - Dec. 14 (Trailer)
  • Who Killed Santa? A Murderville Murder Mystery (one-off holiday special of Will Arnett’s Murderville parody procedural with special guest stars Jason Bateman and Maya Rudolph) - Dec. 15 (Trailer)
  • A Storm for Christmas (Norwegian-language holiday series starring Sus Wilkins, Valter Skarsgård and Jon Øigarden; from creator Per-Olav Sørensen; A group of strangers find themselves stranded at the airport 24 hours before Christmas; filmed in Oslo) - Dec. 16

Hallmark Channel: The Most Colorful Time of the Year
(Not to be confused with the Henry Winkler movie titled The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.)
Thur 12/15 at 10:00 ET
Weds 12/21 at 6pm ET
Starring: Katrina Bowden, Christopher Russell and Ava Weiss.
Description: Ryan, a color-blind teacher turns to the optometrist parent of one of his students for help seeing red and green for the first time, in time for the holidays.

"The Most Colorful Time of the Year". I really liked this one. I liked how the relationship developed with a soft, easy feel. Even from their friends helping things along.

🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄

I watched The Most Colorful Time of the Year. It's on again in 10 minutes.

I also liked it. I never knew there are glasses that can help color-blind people. I had to Google as I thought this might be a fantasy movie where the male lead steps into a colorized world. But the glasses are real. :cool2: The boyfriend character was kind of a creepy stalker dude. :crazy2:
I give the movie 🎄🎄🎄+1/2 trees out of 5.

Ones I have on my list that I haven't watched (so I can't say if they are necessarily good or not) are

Your Christmas or Mine (released this year as an Amazon Original)

Joy For Christmas (aired on GAC last year)

A Lot Like Christmas (aired on GAC last year)

Christmas at the Ranch (released last year)

Mistletoe Mixup (mentioned in pages back IIRC and released last year) via Freevee (formerly IMDbTV so it has ads)

The Farmer and the Belle: Saving Santaland (Freevee and this one was supposed to be released on one of the major channels but was pulled eventually, released in 2020/2021)

Naughty or Nice (2012)

Saint Street (on Freevee from 2012 and made for Dove Channel)

Amazon on either Prime or Freevee has several other GAC movies you can watch too as well as ones from UP TV and sometimes even Hallmark (and without it being Hallmark Movies Now) so there are more that I haven't mentioned.

I have seen No Sleep Til Christmas that aired several years back on Freeform. Because it aired on Freeform it may have slightly more adult than what you might see on Hallmark but about what you'd might see on CBS or Lifetime. It's been a few years since I watched it just looking over my ratings but I liked it back then at least lol.

You could also check TubiTV (although it will have ads) they've recently released some of their own Christmas movies though I've yet to watch them (just too much to watch lol).

So I had a chance to watch Christmas in the Wilds. This technically aired on UPTV but my library had the DVD already and I picked it up before UP aired it this season just hadn't gotten around to watching it til now. I actually put a hold on it long before I realized UP would be airing it this Christmas season.

In case people haven't realized this is actually a sequel to Romance in the Wilds that also aired on UP in fall of 2021. You can watch that presently on Freevee if you want.

I would suggest watching Romance in the Wilds before you watch Christmas in the Wilds so you understand more about it. The coming together as a couple occurs in Romance in the Wilds and their story continues for the holidays in Christmas in the Wilds. If you watched Christmas in the Wilds already you might re-visit the couple to see how they got together in Romance in the Wilds. Neither movie is amazing per se IMO but worth a watch if you've got extra time.

Also as a heads up Christmas in Wolf Creek that airs on Christmas on UP is a sequel to Love in Wolf Creek that aired this fall (which was okay but not amazing either), I'm assuming it might be a good idea for people to have watched Love in Wolf Creek first before seeing the Christmas in Wolf Creek. I'm not recording Christmas in Wolf Creek because my library has it on DVD already and I put a hold on it (just waiting for others to return some copies) but please share your opinions about it if you happen to watch it.

I knew about the glasses from watching Dr. Pol. He's colorblind and his son got him the glasses for his birthday one year.

I've watched three since I last replied:

Christmas at the Golden Dragon 🎄🎄🎄🎄
- I enjoyed this one. And I loved how nice to her his family was!

Haul Out the Holly 🎄🎄🎄
- "Honest fluff" and I liked Lacey in it.

A Magical Christmas Village 🎄🎄1/2
- It's possible I didn't give this one enough of a chance because I was multitasking, but it didn't really grab me. The concept was so cute, but I really didn't like the character Marlo Thomas played.
