Hallmark Christmas in July šŸŽ„ comfort & joy ā¤ļø

Niall Matter is also in a mystery movie this weekend. But, it's with the actress that ruined a Ryan Paevey or me, so I couldn't watch it again. >:( So, I'm going to pass on Niall's upcoming movie unless it gets really, really good reviews, as I have no interest in watching her. This may turn out to be a not very good few months on Hallmark for Niall if this movie turns out kind of lukewarm too.
Ugh! I really like him and it makes me crazy when they pair him with a dud. Actually, when they do that with any of them. I do understand — I won’t watch anything with Erica Durrance. She could have 7 Hallmark hunks as her costars and I’d pass. Well maybe not 7ā€¦šŸ˜†šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

Tonight’s movie was inventing the Christmas Prince. I liked it, mostly because I feel like Tamera Mowrey is a joy to watch. She never phones it in and she just has this optimism I enjoy. The plot was generally believable. I like that the heroine was an engineer doing actual rocket science! I would watch again. šŸŽ„šŸŽ„šŸŽ„šŸŽ„

If anyone has time, Nikki DeLoach sat down on a podcast and talked about the new Hallmark.

21 minutes in is where she really talks about the new hallmark and her producing

There's a new Wedding Veil movies on Saturday here, 4th one? I have it set to record. I enjoyed the trilogy so look forward to seeing what's next.

Yes, they are doing a new trilogy. How is it that you are in sync with us for these movies but not when Canada showed the Christmas movies?

This weekend is #4 continuing Lacey's character's storyline. Next weekend is #5, continuing Autumn Reeser's storyline.

Not sure yet if #6 will be the week after that. Last year, they took nearly a month break before showing the last movie with Alison Sweeney's storyline.

argh I somehow never watched the first three. I always meant too. I will have to dig through my DVR.

I posted this in the kindness thread in a little while ago and came to share in here, too.

Dad and I did finish watching A Little Christmas Charm last night. We both really enjoyed the story. It was so refreshing to get to see the behind the scenes in a way love story of Yelena and John. It was wonderful getting to meet them both at the end of the movie and learn that by the Grace of God, they are still together and going strong. Also, Yelena happens to be the name of our next-door neighbor. This was definitely a movie that I would enjoy a sequel too. This movie also had such a fun (and tasty looking, though I am not much into gingerbread) scene where the characters bake and create a gingerbread village. Houses, a church, Christmas trees. There was even a pink Christmas house! I would enjoy helping with something like that. I know you can purchase separate Christmas village buildings. Do any of you know whether there are also kits to make such places? That would be away dad and I could create and add our own building each year. Fun to think about.

I have now watched half of The Gift of Peace which is a totally different feel of movie from A Little Christmas Charm. It's truly beautifully told, sharing honest grief and healing. The scene where the characters go on an early morning hiking adventure to a mountain lookout is stunning and indeed a reminder that God is everywhere and with us anywhere. I also so cheered for Regina when she shared about her mom on this trip. I would recommend both movies for sure just take to heart that the first is lighthearted and fun while the second is not typical Hallmark but lovely and healing indeed. I look forward to watching more of it today.

Wishing each of you a wonderful Wednesday. Enjoy a movie today, too :)

The Hallmark Channel is doing a marathon of The Wedding Veil trilogy then premiering #4 right afterward.

This is the schedule so people can catch up if they only missed one or two of the movies:

This Saturday:

The Wedding Veil #1 at 2pm ET, (Lacey's storyline)
The Wedding Veil Unveiled #2 at 4pm ET, (Autumn's storyline)
The Wedding Veil Legacy #3 at 6pm ET, (Alison's storyline)
The Wedding Veil Expectations #4 (NEW!) at 8 pm ET, (Lacey's storyline)

Next Saturday:
The Wedding Veil Inspiration #5 (NEW!) at 8 pm ET, (Autumn's storyline)

The week after(?):
The Wedding Veil Journey #6 (NEW!) at 8 pm ET, (Alison's storyline)

While each movie centers around one female lead, the stories are kind of continuous as the women are long time friends and it follows their friendships together. So, it may be best to watch them in order for the timeline.

I agree, this is one series that is better if you watch it in order šŸŽ‰
With the added bonus that these are all good, high quality movies! šŸ’—

I finished watching last night The Gift of Peace which was truly a beautifully done and poignant movie. I would absolutely recommend it just know going in that it is not a typical Hallmark movie at all. Instead, it's a story of how God brought together a small group of people to help each other heal through loss, grief, and rekindle faith and relationships with Him. A Christmas Melody is the last movie that dad and I still have to watch. I'll share about that when we do.

I watched a couple non-Hallmark Christmas movies:

Amazon Prime:
Not Hallmark but I just watched Something From Tiffany’s on Amazon. I really liked this one. Great casting. Better production values 😜

I really liked this one too. Excellent casting. Amazon can afford to hire better actors, so they have more choices when casting. The story kept me engaged.

On CBS:
Must Love Christmas (holiday movie starring Liza Lapira, Nathan Witte, Neal Bledsoe. A Christmas romance writer finds herself trapped in what feels like is a plot from one of her books. (First Look)

This CBS movie, Must Love Christmas is still On Demand at CBS on Spectrum Cable. It might also be on Paramount+ ?

I really liked this movie. It had a twist. The female lead meets up with her old boyfriend again. But, wait! He's not The One, as is usual in Hallmark movies, as there is a new guy in the picture also. :teleport:

That guy is Neal Bledsoe (from Coming Home for Christmas with Danica McKeller and this year's GA Family movie, Christmas at the Drive-In, re-paired with Danica, which I liked.) He plays the male lead. Or does he? He does on Hallmark and GA Family. But, this is CBS.

Instead of the Hallmark boyfriend who is so obviously not right for the female lead, this old boyfriend is absolutely PERFECT. And there is definite chemistry between the female lead and the old boyfriend.

So, unless this movie ends, so out of the blue, like the movie with the dead husband coming back to life and the female lead ends up with the other guy, WHICH guy does she end up with? Can there really be two movies in the same season, by different networks that end really differently than usual? This one is interesting to watch how it all shakes out. popcorn::

The female lead, Liza Lapira is a regular on CBS' The Equalizer. She's very intelligent and strong. Yet, in this movie, she gets to be vulnerable too. Great casting. Also both male leads were well cast.

Even the secondary romance with the female lead's gay friend was well done.

Catch this one before it leaves On Demand.

I am currently watching "Wedding Every Weekend" for about the 100th time. I just can't ever not watch Kimberly and Paul.

A Kismet Christmas is on at 8pm ET on the Hallmark Channel.
Starring: Sarah Ramos, Carlo Marks, and Marilu Henner.
Description: A children’s author reconnects with her hometown, family, and teenage crush while confronting a family legend that may actually be true.

I watched A Kismet Christmas. It was a cute, sweet movie. The two leads had a nice, comfortable chemistry to them. I recommend it.

It does have a magical quality to it. While that worked for this movie, it's like the fourth(?) Christmas movie that has magical/mystical/supernatural qualities to it. And next week there is the series with Andie MacDowell that also has a mystical situation in it. I hope using mystical/supernatural plots don't become a big thing on Hallmark. One or two is fine, for me, here and there. Four to five in a season is a lot. I want to watch Hallmark not the SC-fi Channel or the FX channel.

Here is Lacey talking about the Wedding Veil movie and Christmas Con on Live with Kelly & Ryan. (Kelly is out for a couple days, so the the woman who is the voice who introduces the show and is the Live DJ is co-hosting with Ryan.)

If you want to see Lacey talk about her own, personal Christmas celebration, her DD and making this year's Hallmark Christmas movie in Utah, rewind the clip a little.
I have it starting when she talks about the Veil movie.

This clip will not stay up long. Maybe a day or two at the most.

Reminder: On Sunday (tomorrow) on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries

NOTE: It starts 1 hour earlier than usual.

Family History Mysteries: Buried Past at 7pm ET
Starring: Janel Parrish & Niall Matter
Description: Sophie McClaren (Parrish) is a genealogist who’s an expert at digging up the past and bringing families together. When her close friend Jonathan urgently needs to find a bone marrow donor, it brings his twin brother (and Sophie’s old flame) Jackson (Matter) back into her life. With Jackson’s help, Sophie must use her skills to track down the brothers’ long-lost birth father – a man they never even knew existed – in time to save Jonathan’s life.

Ultimately, growing closer to Jackson on this search gives Sophie the push to finally explore the mystery of her own adoption.
