Half Dining/ Half Transportation Question

We will be staying at Saratoga Springs and will be using Disney transportation. I am considering switching an ADR to Boatwright's as I have never tried it and have never visited the resort. I was wondering about the boat transportation to Port Orleans. If I go to Downtown Disney and hop on the Port Orleans boat, how long is the ride? As well, is the restaurant close to the boat ramp? What about the food? We are not too picky, but I know that my dad would prefer fries to the 3 cheese hashbrown dish- do they allow this kind of substitution?

Any help would be great!

fan of Boatwrights but there are some others who are. I liked the breakfast but for some unexplicable reason they stopped serving that. The boat ride is about fifteen minutes with the stop on the way there at POFQ. The boats are supposed to run every ten minutes at night. That seems right. I don't remember having any real wait when we have gone. It's a nice relaxing ride. We have been staying at POFQ the last few trips and the boat to DTD is a bonus.

Disney will usually substitute if they have the item on hand. They serve fries to kids so I think they will probably accomodate you.

The boat will not be a quick trip. Save plenty of time to get there.
