Half board plus?

Hi guys,

I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned but I'm really confused about the whole half board plus voucher pre-booking.

I've booked a package directly with Disneyland Paris but I hadn't yet added the Half Board Plus to it. The price I saw quoted on the website Disneyland Direct was £144.00 (£24 per adult) for 3 nights.

However, had a look again today and have found a new quote stating £210.00 (£35 per adult) for 3 nights.

And then when I look at the brochure sent by Disney along with my confirmation letter, it says HB+ £21.00 per adult.

So which price is correct? Does it change all the time? :confused3 I'm so confused! I was holding out from adding the HB+ till nearer our departure date but now it seems to be £66.00 more than what I had originally thought.

So is it still a good idea to buy these vouchers or am I better off to just pay when I'm there?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm can I cancel my booking now? I booked last month and I made a 10% deposit through the phone. I'm sure the girl mentioned something about 10% fee if you cancel your booking.

Is it worth doing that though just for the free meals?

Only one way to find out!

Perhaps this is a better option (from this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2272521 ):

"I have already booked for Feb, and included half board plus vouchers. When I checked today the same deal would have been £70 cheaper, and also included lunch! I booked through first choice, so I called them this morning. They have just called me back, and all I have to do to get the full board deal is add something to my booking, to get the prices to match (original and amended booking). So I have added lunch with the princes and princesses, which we were going to do anyway! So only puts my original booking up a liitle bit in price, but now all meals are covered!"

Thanks for that, I'll have a think about it.

I checked new quotes but it seems HNY doesn't offer the Free Meals on 14-17 Dec. Very strange :confused3

I think that the deal is not avaliable at all hotels, all of the time. If you wanted the deal, you could always switch your booking to another hotel, if it works out the same price, or a little more, then you wouldn't be charged for doing this (I think?). I'm the person quoted above who re-booked adding the princess lunch into the deal.

Hope you manage to sort something out!

I booked months ago....saw the new deal so rebooked and then sent an email cancelling my old booking...it worked out SO MUCH better for me!!! And I'm getting a wee bit money BACK!!!:thumbsup2

good luck you should defo look into it!! xxxx

Hi, how did you manage to get that to work? I'm not sure about downgrading to another hotel, would much prefer the HNY but this HB+ is kind of worrying me. I just hope the price doesn't keep hiking up :sad2:

poppyolivia, did you book through phone for your first booking? I booked through phone and paid 10% deposit as well as an extra amount so that a nice final figure could be deducted within my credit card limit. Did you manage to get your money back? I'm just trying to weigh the pros and cons because if I don't get my money back, then the free meal deal is going to end up being more expensive once I factor in the cancellation fees + non-refundable deposit etc.

I booked with a travel agent, includng half board plus, before the free meals offer. When the offer came out, I contacted the agent, who then contacted Disney. I was told I could either cancel and re-book, losing the 10% deposit, or have the new offer, but add things in to my booking to get the new price to match or exceed the original price (original was £972, new price £912). So I added the princess lunch to the package (which we wanted to do anyway), and therefore matched the original price, so they gave me the new 'deal' (when I booked it was with one night free deal).

I hope this makes sense! I don't know if it made a difference that I had booked through an agent, but surely they should offer the same service to everyone?

Wow that's a great offer! Hmm I'll see what I can do :D thanks!

Even if you can't get an upgrade, definitly phone up to quote a quote for HB. While it's not a huge saving, I just booked four nights for £156 for two adults on HB+, which is £19.50 p/night as opposed to the £21 quoted in the brochure (prices change in November, however, so this might have gone up by the time you're there). I don't know if they usually do a discount or anything, but not complaining!

Hi Amy,

Did you phone up recently? I think I will phone up tomorrow and if it comes to a decent price I probably will add it on to my package instead of upgrading.
Still considering my meal options though, don't know if the HB+ would be worth it because I don't exactly know how it works :confused3

Does anyone know the Face Value of the HB + voucher?

Atm I'm considering meal options at:

Walts, Rainforest Cafe and Manhattan Restaurant.

Is HB+ a good idea if I'm going to be going to Rainforest Cafe which doesn't accept vouchers? And can I use say 2 vouchers per person to cover a meal at Walts from the main menu? Or is it restricted to 1 voucher per person per meal? (Sorry if that doesn't make any sense :headache:)

Thanks a million!

I phoned up yesterday, yup, booking for the 13th - 17th Sept. As we booked during the 40% offer it's come up as cheaper as the SF is now even without the HB offer, let alone with adding the free meal deal onto it which would only be the equivalent to HB Standard. In-fact I think they were charging £120 extra to add that option on last time I looked which, although it includes lunches as well, still seemed like a bit of a rip-off to me when you could have a lot more options by paying £36 for HB+ separately. Definitly price up all your options before you phone.

I don't know about using 2 vouchers to cover one meal, but you get one voucher per booked night of your stay, not the number of theme park days you have. So if you're staying for two nights but will be around for main meals for three days then you could still go to the Rainforest Café on one of the days and not be wasting a voucher :) Or so's my understanding of it anyway, but someone correct me if I'm wrong!

And I think I read somewhere that it was 27euros recently? Though presumably this goes up as prices go up/ restaurant prices go up so you can still cover meals to the same value?

Hi Amy,

I just got off the phone to Disney and I added HB+ plus at a price of £138.00 too!! :cheer2: Extremely pleased as I never thought the quote would be even cheaper than what I previously thought. Thanks for the tip Amy ~ really glad I phoned. I think the price might go up since the CM mentioned that Dec would be really busy.

I've decided not to go for the free meal offer because

1) HNY doesn't seem to offer the 'free meal' deal for my dates
2) The total price of the package comes to £756 for 3 nights/4days which I think isn't too bad. If I cancelled then it would end up even more costly.

Hope I've made the right decision
