Hakuna Matata Team Challenge Hours/Miles

:welcome: To BunnyFoo! You've joined the best team - for sure!!! :woohoo:

I did an hour of water aerobics this morning and an hour of yoga this evening. The yoga class was much more aerobic than the class I took last week. I kind of prefer the other one because I really want yoga to relax me, but the one tonight was probably better for me. Lots of upper body work, which I desperately need. The one tonight is at the gym where I belong, so there's no add'l cost involved......

Dave, sorry to hear about your teeth problems.....when your mouth hurts, your whole body is miserable.....I hope it all goes well for you!

Sorry to hear so many of you are under the weather! pixiedust: Hope this pixie dust brings fast healing to you all (and no sneezing allowed!)

Lynn and Scott - if your weather has been like ours (and it sounds like it has), you have my admiration for getting out in it and exercising! Too cold for me....I'll fight with that treadmill instead!

Keep up the good work, team!

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't have a chance to stop by yesterday. I guess I am expected to do a little bit of work when my manager is in the office

So, a little bit about me ... I live in Toronto and work in an office - doing what I haven't quite figured out yet :rotfl: but it seems to involve very little physical activity. So I've gain about 25 pounds over the two years  Too much eating out and sitting around I think. It also doesn't help that there's always tons of cookies, chocolates and other junk around. So for my New Year's resolution, I decided to start running and commit to a race - might as well lose the weight and get a Disney trip (or two) out of it :goodvibes So here I am! If there's anything else you want to know, just ask!

Anyway yesterday was my rest day. However, I had an appointment with my chiropractor and I wanted him to see if there was a problem with my running form. So I managed to log 6 minutes of running :yay: Wednesday night I usually run on my treadmill and do some pilates. So I'll report back later tonight.

Phew! Sorry for the long post!

Welcome BunnyFoo, makes me think of Little Bunny Foo Foo , walking in the Forest???? One of my favorite songs..... really it is , next to Little Duckie Daudle.

Yup! That's exactly it! Except I'll be running through the forest ;)

Hey there Bunny, I am just north of you I live in Keswick but was born and raised in Scarborough, so was DH. What area of Toronto are you in?

Kim

Morning team.

Connie put me down for 1 hour and 1/2 mile. I sprinted for a half mile in the five foot deep water, then did some upper body calistetics. That was a workout. I'm still rehabing the achillies so no walking today. Hopefully I can walk soon without pain. I miss the fast walking.

Storms here last night and tornados all around.

I guess I would say I'm mid-town but closer to the burbs than downtown. Do you know where Edwards Gardens is? I'm right in that area :)

Keswick sounds familiar - as you can tell I'm a city gal! That's near Cook's Bay/Lake Simcoe? My dad's often up in that general area in the summer.

KEWL!!! we might have a new team song.

 That would be funny!

Vicky

Edwards Gardens, yup that is where we had our wedding pictures done decades ago:rotfl: DH grew up in the Victoria Park/ Lawrence Area....small world.

Yes, that is exactly where Keswick is.

I use to be a city girl but now avoid it, I took DD to the Eaton Center to shop a few months ago and she was amazed that the subway came right into the mall and you could take a tunnel from the street underground.....and she had never seen a street car before.....and she is 15 but born and raised in The Wick. I couldn't stop laughing.

I saw that on CNN this morning. Keep safe!!

I live (unfortunately) in the underground PATH most of the week. It's a little difficult to navigate sometimes because there are so many people, especially in the morning. But I love it on days like today because I don't have to trudge through the slush.

It's funny because I always take all that stuff (malls, subways) for granted growing up in the city. I'm annoyed when the subway isn't directly connected to the mall - like at Bayview Village

Kim and Bunny, y'all quitcher lauffin'. I found the monorail amazing because it went through a building!! Are you telling me ordinary trains/subways do that too???? OMG!!!:rolleyes1

Welcome to our our end of the forest Little Bunny foo foo, where the real fun is!!

Connie, I almost spit out my tea when I read that.:rotfl:

I only use the subway once a year and that is to go to the Taste of the Danforth, get on at Vic Park and get off at Donlands and walk the rest of the way. Actually last year we just drove down so hopefully I have taken my last subway ride:thumbsup2

Dave - Yes, avoid those tornados!

Still windy here, and still fairly cold, although it is warming up some, I think the wind chill is now above 0:lmao:

I did get out yesterday for a decent walk, but my legs felt like lead by the time I got home, so I skipped the weight work out I had planned. Today I will definately get the Pilates tape in, and am trying to get motivated to get outside in the wind for a walk. We have a high wind warning (gusting above 70mph) for this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon, but the weatherman said he expects the warning to be extended and we will have high wind thru the weekend:scared1:

Jeanne said:Dear Connie, Hakuna Matata Team Captain and fellow WISHer,

Team Ohana would like to file a formal complaint against one of your team members (actually a co-captain, at that) for visiting our thread, uninvited, and suggesting we do things that involve certain modes of undress. I know it's difficult, and you have our sympathies, but please try to keep him under control!

Jeanne while I sympathize with you and understand the need to lodge a protest on behalf of the Team O'Hana, I feel compelled to point out that you were the one who invited this particular line of thinking when you suggested that you might be willing to do a nude race. I am sure that given your innocence and delicate nature that you meant that the race was basically stripped of amnenities like water and Gatoraid and such and NOT that you might particpate sans clothing. I will speak to Mischevious Panda about this. :lmao:

OMG:scared1: :scared1: nekkid running.....wow I have been away from the boards to much.....how did I miss this:upsidedow

Hi I am Mike (hockeychic) hubby, she told me I had to start posting myself

MIke

Oh, you mean this race: http://queencitytiming.com/race_pages/Takeprideinyourhide.htm#schedule

Unlike the Goofy, there are still plenty of openings left. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Actually, I never suggested any such thing. Must have been Nancy.....:rolleyes1

So for tonight I did 35 minutes/2.5 miles on the TM and 40 minutes of Pilates :) Hope that will help the team total :yay:

I'll report back tomorrow!

Oh and I forgot to thank everyone for all of the warm welcomes!!

Vicky
