Karin & Tom...I am just catching up...so glad you made it home but so sad at the same time...know what I mean? ;)

Hi Karin Sorry you were sick that day !!! I am slowly doing my TR and Dining review all in one !!! I know you have joined it !!! I am hoping that all the food pix loaded but sadly I can't fine the 1st meal at POP!!!

It's no fun being sick at Disney especially when you want to relax and have fun! I had the flu and a cold one year when I went down there and it made things difficult. Luckily it was at the end and not at the beginning! My DH and I are already planning our places to eat for the next vacay. Wolfgangs it at the top of our list for sure! It looks aweswome. Also I think were going to the Sci-fi too. Now we just need a seafood place on the dining plan that takes one credit we are thinking of Captain Jacks or Cape May. :thumbsup2
Take Care,
Chris

That's my girl!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 Cancelling GF tea for The Ditch!!!!:cool1:

Wohoo! I am SO glad you approve! :rotfl2: Seeing your photos the other day made the decision more than easy! :thumbsup2

Sorry you got sick, that's no fun. Glad you made it home safely!

Yes, being sick at Disney sucks, but thankfully it did not linger too long! And we had had some real fun time beforehand. :goodvibes

Glad you are back home and feeling better and planning your next trips... And:cool1:for Tequila over Tea :cheer2:

Thanks for feeling with me ......... planning a new trip is the best cure for being sad about coming back home! ;) La Cave de Tequila - :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Looks like it was a great trip (other than the illness). Cant wait to hear the in depth reviews!

Yes, it WAS a great trip! And the reviews are coming up shortly!

Glad you are back, looking forward to your reviews. That little taster has left me wanting more :)

Unfortunately, neither me or DF can drive so we wouldn't be able to get the ones from Kissimee. Maybe we could try to get some from the one near DTD.

It's a shame you won't be able to go to Kissimmee! But the ones at the Hess Gas Station (right across from DTD - easy to walk to) are quite nice as well!

I DO completely understand what you mean! Coming home is the hardest part of a vacation, but thanks to some VERY SWEET and DEAR friends we have a constant reminder of that vacation, she says, nibbling on some pretzels from her cooler! ;)

Rosie, I just LOVE your TR!! I am so glad you mentioned it - reading some fun reports makes coming home much easier.:goodvibes

I know - being sick at Disney is the worst!
Isn't planning half the fun? You made a good choice with Wolfgang Puck's :rotfl2:, can't go wrong there - the portions are still HUGE and the food is YUMMYYYYYYY!
I think your girls would love Sci-Fi! Dining in the cars is so much fun! As for the seafood restaurant, have you considered Coral Reef? We have yet to try either Captain Jack's or Cape May, so I can't comment, but if you ever think about trying a seafood place not on the DDP - FULTON'S rocks! We had one great meal there! :worship:

I was hoping I was going to find the first review. I love your Mickey in an egg...way too cute. Good news on the brother front...well a first tiny baby step anyway. He is awake and alert and off the ventilator; they took him down this afternoon for a couple of procedures on his heart to see where they go from here.

Okay, let's start! I have uploaded my first set of photos and am ready to start the reviews!

DAY 1, February 13

Pre-Trip breakfast and snack

Since our flight only left Linz at 11am I went to the baker in the morning to pick up some fresh bread for breakfast.

We finished the last of our finely sliced ham on top of ........

BAEC_Handsemmel_l1.jpg

Fresh Austrian rolls, light and soft on the inside and really krispy on the outside. These were still warm when I picked them up - :cloud9:

I also got some

pumpkin seed rolls, which are nice and crunchy and crisp on the outside with chewey seeds on top and very soft on the inside - this is a real wholegrain roll, not like the stuff they offer at WDW!

I also picked up two

of these wonderful things. They are called "Knoepfe" (= buttons) and are a traditional yeast pastry. They are very light and soft with raisins and huge sugar "rocks" on top! So good for breakfast or as a coffee pastry! We took them with us to snack on between or during the flights.

As always we were leaving late and made it to the airport about 15 minutes before the check in counter was closed. But Linz is a fairly small airport and we had checked in the day before, so we only had to drop off our luggage and we were all set.

Our flight out was a little delayed, about 20 minutes!

Up next - some surprisingly YUMMY airplane food!

Great news, prayers continue.

I am working on more updates! But I guess I won't be able to do any more today, it is already past 11pm and I need to get up at 5.15am tomorrow, so for me that means ....... off to bed!

Wonderful news about your brother! More prayers and pixie dust on the way!

I too was hoping for the start of your full review. Hooray!!! :yay:

Let's go!!

I always forget about you being hours ahead of most of us. When I read your posts really late at night, I'm sure you're getting up for the next day already.

I can't believe your trip is over. I've been MIA on this thread but am happy to report that I'm back for the detailed trip report. Bring it on!

Yummy Austrian Breads !!! Did I tell you I vacationed in Austria many many years ago I can't remmebr the name but it was close to the Swiss and Italian borders !!! I loved waking up to the CCow and Goat Bells and the Fresh Mountain air was soooo restful !! I could function well on 3 hours sleep!!!

Karin, I interrupt your food review to give you a brother update: I just got home from the hospital. Both tests were negative on his heart (no blood clot, no tumor) and his catscan was negative for a stroke. He has been moved out of ICU and is now in the Cardiac Step Down Unit. When I got to the hospital, he was sitting up on the edge of the bed eating dinner (soup, yogurt and something else). They hope to have him up walking a few fee tomorrow morning, then more in the afternoon and again at night. They hope if they can get his strength up to have him home by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. I am convinced that all of your prayers played a big part. Thank you.
