Merry Christmas

It seems we've all had our share of ups and downs, good things and not so good things over the year, but in the end We all seemed to have been blessed good health and happiness, Patty & I wish you all a Merry Christmas! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I couldn't have said it better! Christmas Blessings to all my team mates!

Team yes we have all had a time of it this year and yes the hugs and the tears of happiness will flow when we are again gathered together.:cloud9:

Merry Christmas dear friends.

Dave:hippie:

Merry Christmas !
I forgot to mention my 5 miles in 42 minutes on Christmas eve. I may have to head out today to test drive the Garmin Santa brought me.

Merry Christmas, Team! :santa:

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday snug inside surrounded with family and friends … and not stuck somewhere due to the winter storm! :santa:

We have had heavy rains for two days-started out with freezing rain, sleet, and now just rain. And the temperature was above freezing today, so our snow and ice is diminishing. :goodvibes

This weekend is a 5/10 miles back to backs- not sure if I will be able to do any of it outside. :sad1:

Can you believe we only have 13 days until Marathon Weekend! ::yes::
And I have not even started to pack! :sad2: The nerves have all ready started :confused3

Blizzard conditions continue, wind is at 42 MPH here at home with gusts in the 50's. Even the Malamutes are not wanting to go outside. Interstates are closed, TM and Wii later today, might go out to the barn and work on the Sapo Game. Need to make a Lowes run for stuff to finish it. Stay Safe and Warm.

Good Morning, Team! :santa:

Stay Safe this weekend- it sounds like the whole nation has problematic weather this weekend-blizzards, snow, freezing rain, and high winds!

With Scott, Lynn and Connie deepest in snow!
Seriously, Connie is in Texas with roads closed and 5' drifts! :sad2:

In Michigan only about 2" of new snow last night, but it is cold and windy.
My 5 miles will diffidently be on the DM today. :scared1:

With the latest happenings on the flight into Detroit Christmas Day we will need to prepare for heightened security and longer lines when leaving for WDW on a NW flight out of Detroit on the 6th. :sad1:

Good Afternoon Team!

No training this weekend, I did get dogs out for a loop (1.25 miles) on Christmas Eve, when I got home from work early, but since then the wind has really picked up, as Scott said, the malamutes will not even go outside. I think yesterday's high was about 15 degrees! We did get on the Wii for Wii Active again today, then I did some exercises on the Wii Fit Plus that Scott got me for Christmas. It is not worth it to shovel snow, with this wind, it would all be blown in again in 10 minutes! This will be the worst training I have ever had for a race. Went to Doc again the other day, he is still saying that it is too soon to feel 100 percent - even 50 percent - he is still saying 6 months to a year - but he did switch my NSAID to one I only have to take once a day, I kept forgetting to take the Motrin, and I was thinking it was good to ease off of it, but he said that was counter productive. We are also trying injections of Orthovisc after I get back from the race. It is a knee lubricant, and should make the bone on bone of my knee feel better. I have to wait because there are 3 injections done a week apart, and it needs to be pre-authorized by the insurance company. We will see it that helps.

Hope everyone had a great holiday! Have a great week all! It will be good to see some of you in Jan!

Good morning dear friends. I've had a busy couple of days and ate to much food.

I'm headed off to the mall for a training walk since it's cold out. I know to most of you my weather is not your idea of cold but it is to my Southern Ky body.

Can't wait to see all of you.

Dave:hippie:

TM 2 miles at 12% grade, not a great distance but up hill all the way.

Dave, it's 19 F and wind is still at 25MPH.... so it has calmed down for us LOL Dogs will get a walk today for sure.

Good Morning Team!

As Scott says, the dogs (and I) will definately get a walk in today! Between working (sitting all day) and Christmas, I have sure put on a few pounds that need to come off!!!

I also have not yet started to pack for the trip in Jan - usually by now I would be ready to leave. I am just hoping that the airlines do not change the carry on restrictions before the trip. I really want to carry on all my race stuff!

Have a great day all!

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

Connie, Dave, Eva, Jack, Jennifer, Kim, MaryJ, Sue, Vicky, and Denise & Mark and Scott & Lynn do hope you and your families are all snug, warm, and safe! :goodvibes

Scott- temperature here is at 19° also, but probably our humidity is way higher than yours – a much gentler breeze with winds only 10 mph.

Lynn- I do not have a serious medical problem like your knees, but I do feel way under trained! PS... I am concerned about the airline restrictions too. AND we fly out of Detroit. My DD has started to pack but I do not even have the suit cases out. :headache:

I am very thankful for the cooler weather they predict for race days, as I do not take the heat well...but then maybe with the improved BP meds it would not be quite so serious. Gosh, this morning is was 127/88 cannot ever remember it being that low!

lots of snow to get shoveled today- ::yes::
10-miler on the DM- :sad1:
Maybe-just maybe it will help work on all the extra calorie intake I have had for the past couple of days. :rolleyes1

See you in a few days! ...

Scott, 12% grade UPHILL on the tready!!!!! You are an animal my brother.

Lynn, you will still be a beautiful princess even if you do put on a few pounds. All of our princesses shine with a glow of goodness and courage.

Margie, little warrior, one more week till I can collect that hug you have been saving for me.

Connie, I hear Texas is not real warm right now, sunshine is coming soon. I'm ready to collect a Connie hug to.

Everyone, have a magical week and don't injure anything!

I had a nice 4 mile training walk at the mall.

Dave:hippie:

Margie, I know the feeling. I haven't been injured at all (fingers crossed) and I still feel under-trained. (I keep trying to tell myself that my first in Memphis served as a 26.2 mile training run).

Scott, I don't see how you can even hold on with a treadmill at 12% incline.

Dave, Can I request a Panda hug?

17 miles in 2:40 (about a 9:25 pace).

Hoping they take those showers out of the forecast for the full.

Best,
Jennifer

I will admit at 12% I have to grab on every now and then. but for some crazy reason I don't get as bored. Distances are not that great but the intensity is good.

I saw the forcast for the full, a running in the shower will be my next training program, I leak (sweat) a bunch anyway. {lease Just no lightening. If wet We will all need to watch the feet, I might think about bringing a change or two of socks in a baggie.

Jennifer of course you will get a Panda hug darlin. I have been saving them up for a year since I didn't get to do the Oct trip.

I'm headed out to meet another walker to do interval training and it's fish flippin cold out there, 20 degrees, Brrrrrrrr. I must get a watch cap today to wear so my ears will not freeze.

See y'all in about a week:banana:

Remember the mold of our future is in our hands to make.

Dave:hippie:

Good Morning, TEAM!

Weather – Real Feel 4° 14mph winds; light freezing rain for the 2- plus hours shoveling the drive and walk this morning- then more snow. The ice is so thick at both ends of my drive it is impossible (for me) to get it down to pavement. :sad2:

Connie- are you snowed in or out this morning? :rolleyes1

Jack- are you still shoveling or is it water control? :upsidedow

Jennifer-What- you under trained ... not thinking that is possible you actually got in a full Marathon. :confused3

Now my training is whatever – whenever.

Scott- latest is dry so the weather sounds great (for me) on Marathon Weekend. But - Seriously change socks in the pouring rain-wouldn't they be soaked before we could get them on?

Dave- hope you have a great brisk walk this morning! And okay 20° is admittedly cold for your area. Say what - are we now lining up and taking numbers for Panda hugs! :upsidedow

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas! We did the usual family stuff and managed to keep the drama to a minimum :) I tried not to indulge in too many treats but that's always difficult... The weather has been interesting - it seems to cool down and then warm up and then cool down again. I managed to get out on Saturday for my 12 miler when the weather was 3C (37F) and it was great, the weather I mean. The run really beat me up for some reason. My calves and hips were unbelievably tight afterward. Yesterday I went out for a 3 miler before my massage it and was so icy that I cut my run short after 2 miles. No sense in possibly slipping and injuring myself.

So hooray for tapering!! Unfortunately, that means I'm really going to have to watch what I eat since I don't have anymore 10+ milers to burn off the extra calories.

Margie - Be careful out there! Maybe you can just clear half your driveway and save the other half for later. That way you can at least get one car out.

Dave - Keep warm today!

Scott - I keep seeing everyone post about rain for the weekend but when I do the 10 day weather forecast, it only goes up to Jan 6. WTG on the TM workout!!

Lynn - I hear ya on the extra weight and eating! I had hoped to lose a little more before January but I think I'll be happy just to maintain, especially now that I'm tapering.

Connie - How much snow did you end up getting?

Sue - I wanted a skirt from Running Skirts but it never worked out. I had trouble ordering and I sent a couple of emails but never received a final email telling me how to place an order. Oh well. I'll check out the Running Room tomorrow - I have to pick up a couple of gel packs and such anyway.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi team!

All of my family has gone home now. We had a great Christmas! Lots of laughter and love. Santa brought me a new pair of headphones, (Airdrives.) Wore them for my 7 miler today and they were great.

I'm not getting too concerned about the weather for Orlando yet. I remember last year that when I checked the forecast 15 days out they were calling for 20 mph winds that day! And we know that didn't happen! So, keep in mind that alot can change in the next week or so.

Good Morning, TEAM! :wave2:

It really Morning! Where is Everyone? :goodvibes
Just could not let our Team Thread go to the bottom of the list!

Need to go shovel the walk, get 3-miles on the DM, and more than think about packing. :confused3

We are flying out of Detroit on NW so they might be a little more cautious. Not looking forward to being at the airport after a 2-hour drive to be arrive 2-hours before departure. I can hope little Hagen sleeps through it all, but it is not likely. It looks like the lines for Security Checks could be longer, but no new restriction on what we can put in our carry ons. It's hard to be upset knowing it's for our safety! But we are human so be prepared for a few frustrated travelers. ::yes::

Not so sure about our Canadian Team Mates Kim, Sue, & Vicky your flights into the US might have more restrictions (?) so you might want to check with the airlines. :upsidedow

Can you believe how fast time is flying not that we are close to Marathon Weekend? Something we have waiting and worked for so long - I am not ready yet but I will be. See you Soon!!!! :grouphug:

Hope everyone has a great day!
