Hakuna Matata - Bustin' out in June!

WTG-Nice Run!

Hope- I checked out your veil-it is beautiful. :bride:
What length did you choose?
High Heels - is the problem with your arch?
I used to wear heels all the time-now I wear 2 1/2” on occasion,
but I am most happy with the Negative Heel Earth Shoes.

Hope - I had a lot of trouble with heels and still do. Doing lots of core exercises helped me to walk a little more "normally" in heels. Doesn't quite help with the foot pain when I have to stand in them for long periods of time. I had an insert for the ball of the foot that really helps. Platform heels (think Louboutins, Aldo's has some) are great for getting in the height without actually standing on the full height of the heel. The platform usually gives you a "boost" of 2" and then it's like you're standing on 2" heel.

I choose the 'fingertip' length.

I think it's the arch/ball issue. I'm using the Dr Scholls inserts designed for heels with the strappy heels Nick got me (four inch heel with 3/4 inch platform on the front). So far they are working extremely well. I keep wearing them to go shopping and errands. So, I'm still on a three or so inch heel, and that opens up a ton of options. Like these, these, or these

My "training" heels

Hukuna Matata everyone!

Hope you don't mind an intruder!!

Just wanted to stop in and say what a great team member you have in Margie!

She has been such a help and motivation to me!

Nothing better than having a walking buddy!!

As for a tip on PF- I work in a physical therapy clinic and our therapist have been trained in ASTYM (augmented soft tissue mobilization). We have had AWESOME results with PF! I recommend visiting their website and finding a clinic near you! ASTYM.com

Nikki,

You are so sweet ... I too enjoy and appreciate My Walking Buddy!
CrossFit workouts tonight was Great. :goodvibes

Oh, you are on our forever Hakuna Matata' Guest List -
We'll Keep the Light on!

Hi team! Just popping in for a quick post! Woke up this morning and it was raining pretty heavily so I ended up going back to sleep. I think it probably stopped raining shortly after I went back to sleep though. I'll try and get in some speed work or hill training after work today.

Hope - I have a pair like the ones in your first link. I love 'em! I also really like the ones you have on in the posted pic!

Nikki - :wave2: So glad to hear that you're walking with Margie! Do you gals have any races planned?

Sue - I noticed today that there were more police officers at the fenced off intersections and walking around the downtown core. I guess they're stepping things up early. Are you going to be working from home next week?

Jennifer - Good job on the 3 miler!

Dave - Hope your feet are feeling better today!

Have a great day everyone! :wave2:

Hi Team! :wave2:

Vicky-I am sorry but I totally missed it -:rolleyes1
What is the big event that they
needed to build a wall and shut business down for?

AFM: Hagen is better today.
Did a CrossFit workout with Nikki last night.

Hey gang..sorry a bit of life getting in the way this week, hope all will calm down by next week, results will be good and life will go on.

Hope everyone is doing great.

Margie: Toronto is hosting the G20 summit, waste of my tax dollars if you ask me, have they not heard of tele-conferences;) About 2 hours north of Toronto they are hosting the G8 as well.

Vicky: We are going down to the Jays game tomorrow, how bad is it trying to get parking down there? We usually park at Mirvish Theater. I know traffic will be icky but also curious to see what is all going on down there. Any insight? What is it like around the Skydome...ooppss sorry Rogers Centre:rotfl:

I promise I will stay on track here, just need more time at work to post;)

Kim - Parking on King Street should be okay - the Green P parking lot at Yonge and Lakeshore is still open. The fencing has Wellington down to 2 lanes from Bay St going west past the CBC building. There are a couple of streets that are down to one lane - Bay St southbound (at King), Simcoe St north bound (south of Front) and York St north (south of Front). I'm pretty sure you can still get into Metro Hall from Wellington and the above ground parking lot on Simcoe and Front is still open as well. If you want me to check out anything at lunch, let me know :)

Good morning guys.

I stayed in Nashville last night and have to work the early shift today so this is by default a rest day. That's ok since I have done well:

3 miles easy on Sun
5 miles speed interval day on Mon
5 mile hill route on Tues
6.5 mile group walk Wed

So a rest day is in order anyway. I'll go to bed early tonight and do a good workout in the morning. Probably more half mile speed repeats.

Saturday will be another rest day since I have early shift and then a ball game date with Sally and some friends.

But life is good.

Have a magical day y'all.

Good Morning Team!

Major wind yesterday & this morning with cool temps. Love this type of weather with no humidity.

Went spinning last night. Have an afternoon appointment. Hoping to get in a run when I'm done.

Kim, It will always be the Skydome. When someone mentions the Rogers Centre I have to think twice about what they are talking about.
It's quite the fence our taxes $ have built. Don't even get me started on the "fake lake". What a joke.

Vicky, No luck being off next week. GO have been making annoucements to expect delays, telling us to bring a drink & snack & they are closing the washrooms on the trains. Did you see they are unplanting trees in the zone. Afraid protestors will use them as weapons. Unreal.
Are you working/ working from home or taking vacation?

Action packed weekend planned. Will have to wait for next weekend to see Toy Story 3. Anyone going? Would like to see Karate Kid also?

Have a great day everyone............Sue

Sue - It's a forced vacation so I'll probably end up using the last few vacation days I have. I always like to save one for my birthday and then one around Christmas but no such luck I guess :sad2: The uprooting the trees is pretty ridiculous.

Anyway could you drive to a TTC station like Finch, Don Mills or Scarborough Town Center and then use the subway to get down to Bloor or further south? That might be easier than using the GO for those few days.

I'm going to try and see Toy Story 3 this weekend but probably won't have time. Most likely it will be next weekend or the one afterward.

Just a quick drive by...
On my way home to Alabama I was in a car accident that totalled my car and sent me to the hospital. I'm okay, but pretty banged up. I'm not allowed to run for at least the next four days.

Jennifer

Sue: I agree, I can never refer to is as Rogers Centre.... This entire thing has been one joke after another. The amount of money they have spent on this thing is crazy...and that is what they are telling us about who knows how much is really being spent.

Vicky: Thanks for the info yesterday, should be a interesting sight down there tonight.

Toy Story 3 is definatley on the list for this weekend, watched 1 & 2 last Sunday to bring myself back up to speed ;) Can you believe Andy is off to college, I feel soooo old :yay:

Whatever you plan to do this weekend have a great one all!!!
