Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

The look on Sophie's face when the carousel started is hysterical!!:rotfl: Oh that just made my day!! I suppose she won't be quite the daredevil miss Brooklynn has turned in to! After the Barnstormer incident that is ;). That was so cute!

The girls looked like they had fun at Sea World

I have actually ridden the Wild Artic. It’s just like star tours but more jerky and intense. I would have ridden it again but parents would not.

Oh my goodness, MeMom, with that "part-time" job keeping you out past 10, you certainly do earn your weekend rest. Or did you work again today?

I have been working an extra job for a while, too, but at least I can sit for it. It sure has helped with fixing up our old house & car. Plus, it lets DD & me do a long weekend trip to Disney World in November. :cool1: This year was supposed to be a Disney-free zone. :scared1: (<-- Sophie on carousel!) But when I heard that my two nieces were going to see Cindy's castle for the first time, I knew I couldn't miss it. Yes, we are lucky to get there more than just the once in a lifetime that so many people get, & I am extremely grateful.

Belated note about your too-dark turtle photos: I have had very good luck taking video in conditions that are not good for photos. I caught bears and moose in Alaska at dusk and a rainbow over Niagara Falls when stills would not turn out. Worth a try.

Anywho, I hope you slept in today and then got a lot of your list checked off so you can relax tonight ... And maybe post an update. :)

Hi friends!! Sorry I've been MIA - I was on a business trip for a few days so I'm out of the loop. I'll go back & read!!

Can't believe that I finally got caught up on this report. Vero looks wonderful! Pirate Goofy gets my vote.

I have been to that Sea World before, but it was over a decade ago.

:thumbsup2

Look at this sweet face!

But when it started....

I think that second face just about says it all! :rotfl: Poor Sophie baby! Glad she adjusted without difficulty.

The girls all look like they are having a blast. Fun afternoon, despite the heat.

It is good that you enjoy your part time job, but not so good that it makes for some long days for you. I was thinking of trying to find something to add some extra income at home, but with a full time job and two little ones, and DH - I think the stress of time away would far outweigh any financial benefit.

DH and I are definitely not on the same page when it comes to "too much" time at Disney. After our 9 day trip last week I know he is done for awhile but Charlotte has been going on and on about all the fun things we did while we were there. Yesterday morning on the way to school she said she wanted to go see Cinderella and give her a cuddle. My initial reaction was to look at the clock in the car and calculate what time we could get to Magic Kingdom by :) Luckily it was already after 7 and I couldn't see missing rope drop if we were going to go all that way. :moped: I think there's something a little off about considering kidnapping your own kids for a day trip to Magic Kingdom when you've been home for less than a week. :faint:

At this stage in my life, I come home to an empty house and work on school work, piddle around with house chores, and spend time on the computer, so I am not shorting anyone my time and attention.

I wish I was close enough for some impromptu quickie weekends. I don't think it's odd at all to daydream about running away to Disney!

Poor girl. She was thinking, 'What have they gotten me into now???'

I thought it looked a bit Star Tourish, and we like Star Tours. We'll try to do it when the girls are a bit older.

Next work day is Monday, and it is not as late into the evening.

I bet your pictures of the great north are awesome. I would enjoy see Alaska.

I will probably be able to put up more pictures later today.

Would love to hear about your trip. I saw that you loved the area.

Do you suppose there are diehard Sea World lovers who are wondering how we can go that long in between trips? I know I wonder how people can only do Disney once every 5-10-15 years. ::yes::

I caught her at her worst, I do believe. It will be interesting to see what she likes and dislikes when we go in December.

It was fun.

And hot.

But worth it. :)

I'm finally caught up. I feel so out of the loop. I've been sick with this lingering cold for several weeks now and now Bayleigh has been sick off and on as well. I'm all caught up and ready for more.

I certainly understand the being super duper busy! Been there myself lately and way behind here on the DIS, but trying to catch up at least a little! :guilty:

Looks like a great time at Sea World! Haven't been there is quite a few years. Looks like lots of changes that would be worth checking out again! :thumbsup2 That picture of Sophie when the carousel started up is too precious......and priceless! I guess the Sea Carousel is the RnR of carousels......... :rotfl2:

I have nowhere near the DIS time I used to, so the reports are getting even slower than they were. I don't know if anyone will stick around to read until the end of something so long, but I'll just keep posting when I can, and those that are interested can read as they wish. Real life is so busy these days. DIS time gets less and less percentage of my time, but it's always enjoyable when I can get it.

Hope you and Bayleigh feel better. I enjoy seeing her pictures on FB. :goodvibes

I do think Sea World is worth a visit. I think we could have enjoyed two 9-5 days there, actually, but I would still have wanted to go back to Disney property at night.

The carousel had some interesting creatures one could ride. I should have gotten more pictures.

More polar bear watching.

Arctic expedition themed areas.

Walrus.

Walrus tusk.

Brooklynn's weight compared to ocean animals.

Bella's weight compared to ocean animals.

In the gift shop.

Two Disney friends.

One of the reasons we loved the free dining bands was that we could refresh with cold water and fresh fruit throughout the day. This really hit the spot in the heat.

Back by the mingo boats.

If I read Bella's weight right (29.1), my baby Charlotte, who will be 2 on October 8th, outweighs her :scared1: Bella is almost 4 1/2, right? I knew she was a bitty one and my Charlotte is huge, but that puts things into perspective.

I think when we do Sea World again, we will definitely stay on Disney property. The drive really isn't bad and it's nice to have that touch of Disney to come home to at night. We stayed at a couple of hotels closer to Sea World when we were annual passholders there, and they were nice, but I'd rather have the Disney touch anytime I can get it!

It looks like Charlotte may be getting a weekend trip to Disney for her 2nd birthday instead of a party. When I ask her if she wants a party, she says no. When I ask her if she wants to have a party or go to Disney, she says Disney. She wants to "ride purple Dumbo" and see "Cinderella, give her a cuddle". I need to think on it a little more because I know this is not a decision for a 2 year old and I don't want to selfishly sign us up for another Disney trip. We'll see.

Sharks and rays.

I was starting to feel a little uncomfortable in the dark spaces here.

I think I told them to make a scared face, but none of these look too scared.

Then it came time to go through the death chamber that is called a shark tunnel.

Never could I go through one of those things!

So I thought.

But I wanted to stay with my group and not back out,

so,

I put my head down and moved on.

The girls would tell me when a shark was overhead, and I looked up quickly and snapped a picture.

Then I put my head down until the next one.

And before I knew it, it was over!

I did it!

Sharks.

I went through the whole thing without hyperventilating or embarrassing my family. I was more than shocked and a little bit pleased with myself. :)

More shopping.

I had conquered one mission:impossible feat by going through the shark tunnel, but I wasn't ready to add trapped sharks in a box to it so soon.

I wanted to free them, but I did not think the SW people would appreciate my efforts, so I walked away instead.

We would have done this, if we had had a second day.

Over to an observation area.

This is the controller for the game.

Look at Sophie's baby fat legs.

I think Jill was a little warm.

That's it for now. Have a good Sunday evening and an easy and happy week ahead, Distown friends!

We say Bella has hollow bones like a bird. She weighs nothing! She can crawl over you if you are sitting down and it's like a little flutter as she goes by. You hardly feel her! She is a tiny, tiny girl. Her little finger bones are like toothpicks. Fully clothed and with the help of the weight of tennis shoes, she was 29.1. Sophie will surpass her not too long from now.

We were extremely happy that when we would leave Sea World that evening, we would be going back to our beloved Disney World property! ::yes::

Maybe you could do a Disney trip and just have a small celebration with a cake with the family. A two year old doesn't care about a 'friend party' yet. She could wear a birthday button and get lots of special attention with that, I bet.

Jill sure does look hot. SW dining plan looks like it might be worth it.

Looks like you packed a lot into one hot day. I bet you all slept hard when you got back. :lmao:

Add me to the busy list. Trying to stop in when I can.

Two Disney friends.

Love these. :goodvibes

That's it...we MUST go back to Sea World. I can't believe all the new stuff that has been added since we were there. I love the manatees and turtles.

And :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for getting through the shark tank...that's awesome!

Jill looks beat from the heat.

Awwww, Sophie looks so cute when the carousel started!

Oof. Okay, so that rope climb. We had one at Six Flags, and let me tell you. When kids got stuck at some point in the ropes, or got to scared to make it to the top.....we had to climb out there to help them. NOT my favorite job. :lmao:

The shark tank looked pretty cool. I can see how it could be a bit overwhelming.

That is just what I was thinking for Charlotte's birthday - probably an overnight, maybe 2 nights at Disney either the weekend before or after her birthday. Then, the other weekend, cake and ice cream at my parents' house for the family. That way she gets the best of both and I don't have to try to throw together a big party in the next few weeks. And, any family who doesn't go to Disney with us will still be able to celebrate her birthday with her (my parents will most likely join us, but my mother-in-law definitely will not) so no one can complain about being left out.

I really want to make Charlotte's cake but I don't know if I am quite skilled enough. She loves to play tea party, so I was thinking a tea party cake, but I wanted to give it a Disney twist so I'm thinking of replicating a Mad Tea Party tea cup for the cake topper. I see lots of fondant play in my near future - and then I'll most likely cave and have Publix make something :rotfl:

Looks like another fun day! And congrats for braving the tunnel!!

The girls are just too cute, as always.

I am really considering adding a Sea World day this December/January trip - it looks like a blast!!

The Arizona trip was fun - it was a pretty quick there & back work trip but it was very nice. I'll have to head back to AZ again, for pleasure next time. It's a lovely place. We didn't have much downtime but I sure did wish I'd remembered my swim suit -- that pool looked SO inviting.

AND I also missed a milestone - under 100 days until the NYE trip!! Woo hoo!! Cannot wait!! When does your party arrive, MeMom? We get in Sunday mid-afternoon.

It took me a while, but I finally caught up! Thanks for sharing!

Lynn
