Nothing better than a sleeping Sophie at the end of a zoo day.
The water play area looked very inviting on a hot day and to get to touch a giraffe...
How priceless.
The pictures bring back memories of a very enjoyable day, and they make me smile. Pictures really are treasures.
Awww I love that Sophia St. Sign...she would love it!! Thanks so much for thinking of us MeMom!!! It has been an insane week and that totally made my night
I'm sure you will be visiting plenty of zoos with her in the years ahead. I look forward to seeing your pictures - and watching her grow from zoo to zoo - when those times come.
Ok I need to go to that zoo!! I want to feed and pet a giraffe!! that is so cool!! The girls still had to have been the cutest there though!
Yes, it was very cool. I was thinking what a neat idea it was to have the viewing area higher and closer to the animals, and then to let people feed them is even cooler!
Wow what a great zoo! I can see why all was enjoyed. Aw Bella & the mingo . Brooklynn must have been loving every minute!
Brooklynn would have been happy to stay there for another ten hours.
Where there is a mingo, Bella will find it!
I see a Katie sign - how fun!! The zoo looks fantastic - very interactive.
Happy belated birthday to Trent! I hope he had a great birthday!
What are your weekend plans? Katie Schafer & I are going to Des Moines to shop, eat and hang out! Should be a fun day.
Your plans are better than mine! Wish I could join you girls on a
(window) shopping spree! I am going to buy a new rug for my bathroom, get some groceries, do laundry, etc. I will either do school work today or tomorrow. I don't do both, because I allow myself one day not to touch school things. So, I will either do that this evening and have tomorrow off, or I will ignore it all day and have to face it tomorrow night.
Looks like Trent had a nice party and the food sounds delicious.
I love the pictures of the girls and the giraffes. That must have been so fun to get to pet and feed them. So cool!
The food was good, but just plain, easy stuff. Bella wanted to know where the macaroni was, but for once, I traded the 'roni for the rice. She likes rice, too, and I think she had three helpings! Trent just enjoyed having everyone together.
I did touch one's head for a second, but mostly I just enjoyed watching the girls get to have such a cool experience.
Another day, another Disney party for Memom's gang. It looks like a fun time as usual. Brooklynn seems to be having no problem decorating her surfboard with her casts.
The zoo pictures are so cute, but the sleeping Sophie picture is the cutest! Did Brooklynn leave with no stuffed animal?!!!!!!!! She reminds me so much of my son. He just LOVED stuff animals, still does like them a lot and he is almost 11. And he does not want to get rid of ANY of them.
Brooklynn has done absolutely fabulous with her casts. She has not complained hardly at all about anything. She is only two weeks from getting them off now, so hopefully that will hold out.
Sophie pretty much fell asleep in the car every time we got in it.

We were here, there, and everywhere doing things, and when we got in the car, it was her time to relax!
I had forgotten what Brooklynn got, but Jill told me she got the golden lion tamarin. He's now hanging out in my classroom. Jill and the girls got Bubby a macaw, because he speaks fluent macaw. And if you don't believe it, just go to the Nashville Zoo with him sometime. He will amaze you with his macaw conversation.
Love the picture of Jarvis working on his surf board. It's great that even the big kids get into the party.
Touching giraffes would be a fabulous treat. I'm so glad the girls got to do this. You can't beat a zoo with a splash area. The Audubon Zoo has one but I haven't tried it yet. The girls went the weekend before last with a friend's 3 year old and had fun with her. I'm sure it wasn't easy getting them back out of the water.
Precious pictures of Bella and her mingo and Sophie napping.
Jarvis and Drew are the artists around here. Jarvis will participate in our silly craft ideas, but Drew won't.

We always know Jarvis wins the prize for best whatever-we-do.
We did not get to stay in the splash area nearly as long as the girls would have liked, but they were good about leaving, anyway.
I love the WL throw!! That is where we are booked for Feb.
I need to pet a giraffe!! Love that! Do they spit on you like camels? Something about that mouth makes me nervous.
My kids got me that several years ago for my birthday. Jill was really responsible for the idea, but she said it was from all of them.

Trent may have chipped in a few bucks on it, but it was mostly Jill's doing. I love it, of course, for it being Disney and for it being a thoughtful gift.
Good to hear you will be at Wilderness Lodge in February. That's always a difficult month for me - cold, cold, cold - so you can send pictures to warm me up and give me hope that a spring break trip is not far away!
The giraffes were not aggressive at all. They walked slowly around, and they didn't act terribly hungry. Sometimes one would walk right by a cracker. There was a very calm atmosphere.
Giraffes are the most adorable things ever. There is something so cute about them. And how fun is that Brooklynn and Bella both got to feed them! I was waiting in eager anticipation of a tongue picture
What a nice little play area! I love how zoos are so on the money when it comes to putting in places to cool off.
A shame you didn't find a Timmy Blvd. or something. That would've been a shock!
Can't wait to read about more Vero Beach!
I'll BOLO for a Tim or Timmy something in December.

They might have a Timothy keychain or something somewhere in WDW.
The water play areas are certainly a draw to the zoos. You really can make a full and fun day of a visit.
Jillyb I am praying for you. Good luck at the doctors!!
Memom! Just saw Trent's big news! CONGRATULATIONS!
The zoo looked amazing! You guys will have to come down here to our Zoomiami ( New name for our MetroZoo) the girls would love it!
I have been to Miami a couple of times, but that was when we lived in St. Pete. If we get to Miami again, it will have to be on a loooong Disney trip. I'd love to take the girls way down there, though, to add to their travel history, and we would all love the zoo. I'd love to go to the Keys, too!
I was not convinced Trent would ever find 'the one' he wanted, much less have a family of his own. I am happy for him, and I feel blessed to be adding another little bundle of fun to our group. I've been kind of low-key about it, because I want Brandi to get through the first crucial months before telling people.
MeMom, I'm all caught up (I admit I skipped all chatter and skimmed a little).
I love all the pictures of the girls; I love all the animal and shopping pictures. But my favorites are by far feeding the giraffes. I've done this twice at the Jacksonvlle, Florida Zoo and Mark did it at the Naples Zoo. I sure wish they did that in Chicago.
I should be able to keep up now.
I wish Nashville Zoo would do that, too. It would not be hard to build the platforms, and what a neat experience it would be for kids, especially like my students!
Glad you got to come by. I have to be a skimmer, too, these days, and just keep up with pictures. I feel like I am missing out on a lot of what is going on, but it is impossible to keep up with everything with my schedule these days.
What was I thinking?
I came on here expecting to find my crew at Kidani sitting on the balcony....
Didn't you text me and invite me to come and sit???
Maybe we were just going to pretend sit?
Yes, I was inviting you to a 'pretend sit' on the balcony. I was loading the Kidani pictures for the next day, and it made me want to walk out on the nice long balcony and watch the animals.
But at least we had the conversation part of balcony time last night through our texts.
