Hakuna Kidani, What a Turtleful Phrase!

I love this sign!

Marc and Anita were really getting into it.

:lmao:

Bella, in true Mrs. Cleaver fashion, is wearing her pearls as she does this.

Such a cute little girly girl! princess:

Cheerios for breakfast before heading out. Even Sophie knows how make a Hidden Mickey with just about anything.

I love those fat little fingers! :goodvibes I miss my little guy's fat fingers. He will be 3 next Wednesday and I can't believe I have such a big boy! :sad1:

I am just in shock by all the errors in the Vero signage!

I love the Pirate friends buffet though - what fun!

YUM - I have been CRAVING s'mores like crazy lately! I should really just get off my tushy and make some already!

I love the mingo poem! so cute!

They really are adorable! What a great picture! I am surprised you got everyone to sit still for a picture. Bravo!

Dinner sounds like a lot of fun. I agree that its really hard to see good food go to waste. :(

Ah the good ole' stovetop s'more! I know it well! A delicious delicacy for us city dwellers! :). I like Bella's style doing it with pearls! I too am wearing pearls as we speak!

Thinking of and praying for you JillyB

Sending good thoughts and prayers for JillyB. I really hate that monster.

I am really enjoying a look at all that Vero has to offer. Looks like you guys had a really great time and I am impressed with all of the activities.

I am not, however, so impressed with their signmaking and proofreading skills! :faint:

Prayers to JillyB!! Many thoughts & prayers headed your way.

Wow they do have lots of activities at Vero. Never knew. But really the signage is just terrible! Very surprising.

Yes I see Anita & Marc really were getting into it.:goodvibes

Okay, all caught up on the 10 or so pages since I left!

I think my next career should be a proof reader for Disney. Yup.

Happy Belated Birthday to Marc and to Sophie! That party was TOO cute!! You guys are so amazing!

I like Vero - we own points there, but have never stayed. Must be rectified. I really enjoyed Hilton Head and the relaxed atmosphere there, I'm sure I'd like Vero. We had great activities CMs. My kids were with them all the time! Didn't notice a lot of sign errors though. Makes me want to go check my pictures.

Prayers for you JillyB! pixiedust:

congrats on the job Stacy!

Hope Brooklynn's feet are doing well. I brought home a message from Mickey that didn't get mailed yet...still unpacking stuff.

Here we don't start school until the day after Labor Day in most districts. It's actually a state law, but some districts have gotten exemptions and private schools can do whatever they want. I think it's due to the farming community, tourism industry and the big state fair all running through Labor Day. There were a few that started last week, and it was so hot/humid (no a/c) that they either let them out early or canceled. My girls go back on Tuesday.

ETA: One more thing - those distance signs? I've got one now! My kids made it for me for my birthday!! It's got a sign for the Disney Alaskan Cruise, Disney's Hilton Head, WDW, Vero, Castaway Cay, Disneyland Paris, Disney's Aulani and Disneyland California! None of which are closer than 1300 miles!

Add me to the fan list for those adorable pirates. Anita must have infused those cute shirts with pixie dust so you could get everyone not wiggling & facing you all at once.
Stacy, congrats on the new job!!!
JillyB, I'm sending you prayers and warm hugs.
Happy Labor Day, all!!! I do hope it's easy on the labor ;)

Swimming and smores sound like a great way to end a night. I've never tried making them over the stove but that's a good idea.

Looks like a nice zoo. the set up reminds me of the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans. They have a big fountain area and everything branches off from there. They also have a Flamingo Cafe at the entrance. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures. We love to visit zoos in new areas.

I have lots of errands than need to be ran but I just don't want to leave the house. Too bad that some HAVE to be done.

I'll be saying prayers for JillyB and I'll remember her at church tomorrow too.

You have more control over the browning of the marshmallow on the stove. ::yes:: At a fire, a flame might jump up and blacken it at any second.

Today is my day for not leaving the house - I hope. Last week was super busy, Saturday was for errands, Sunday was church, cooking, and company, and today is for rest! I do have some papers that need to be graded and recorded, but I will do that whenever I feel like it during the day. No rush.

I have never roasted marshmallows on a stove top- I am amazed that it works and I will need to try this ASAP!

I think the Flamingo poem is fun! I bet the kids that read it don't stop laughing when they read about "Well, you know.."

If you ever get the chance, read the animal info signs on the inside doors of the restroom stalls at Conservation Station in Animal Kingdom. :goodvibes

Stovetop s'mores - you will enjoy! :)

Jilly B -Once again many thoughts and prayers as you navigate through this tough time.

**********************************************************

Do my rounds at work today I stumble upon a sign obviously made by the same sign makers at Vero

****************************************************************

Looks like Anita And Marc were having their own entertainment and a great bug free smoke free idea to s'more inside.

The poor Vero sign makers certainly have a reputation now, don't they???

Adding my thoughts and prayers for jillyB!!

LOVE the stovetop marshmallow roasting!! Great idea!!

In pearls, of course. :goodvibes

I love the little signs they have at the DVC resorts that show the distance to other Disney resorts and Disney World as well. So cool! And what a great idea to do the 'Smores inside! I feel so old school for always doing it outside and not on a kitchen top or whatever like most do now. :thumbsup2 to the awesome magnets and a Mingo cafe! Love it!

Sending pixie dust and good thoughts to JillyB!

The magnets were cute. That would be a fun craft to do with the girls.

I love this sign!

:lmao:

Such a cute little girly girl! princess:

I love those fat little fingers! I miss my little guy's fat fingers. He will be 3 next Wednesday and I can't believe I have such a big boy!

Happy Almost Birthday to Seth and Trent!

Bella was so sad not to be spending the night here last night. On a normal Labor Day weekend, they will come back through and spend the night, but with the kitty being sick and stressed already, it wasn't good to have Ben-dog and a house full of people for too long. Jill thought going on home after dinner and then being able to sleep in and have the whole day at home was a good deal, too, after having spent Saturday and Sunday in Kentucky. Things she would have gotten done on Saturday didn't get done, so she needed the time today. Anyway, it was best to do it like this this time. We put together a quickie luau theme to celebrate Trent's birthday. It was a nice - but all too short - visit. :sad1:

I am just in shock by all the errors in the Vero signage!

I love the Pirate friends buffet though - what fun!

YUM - I have been CRAVING s'mores like crazy lately! I should really just get off my tushy and make some already!

I love the mingo poem! so cute!

The pirate dinner was a highlight of the Vero time. The food was really good, and the kids enjoyed the characters. I don't know if they have one of those treasure hunt things like they do at some WDW resorts, but this would be a perfect place to do that!

They really are adorable! What a great picture! I am surprised you got everyone to sit still for a picture. Bravo!

Dinner sounds like a lot of fun. I agree that its really hard to see good food go to waste.

We had to coax Daisy into being in the picture by letting her be in charge of the babies. ;) I'm glad she obliged, because it was nice to have them all in the pictures.

That food was going in the trash can. That is just a sin! It's not like we had just ordered a new tray of food. It was what was legitimately left over.

Ah the good ole' stovetop s'more! I know it well! A delicious delicacy for us city dwellers! I like Bella's style doing it with pearls! I too am wearing pearls as we speak!

Thinking of and praying for you JillyB

Bella loves her jewelry! I don't even remember if I ended up eating a s'more, now that I think about it. Maybe I had a bite of Bella's. I can't remember.

Sending good thoughts and prayers for JillyB. I really hate that monster.

I am really enjoying a look at all that Vero has to offer. Looks like you guys had a really great time and I am impressed with all of the activities.

I am not, however, so impressed with their signmaking and proofreading skills!

Being an activities director there would be a fun job, in my opinion. :thumbsup2

The sign department probably does need a little help. ;)

Prayers to JillyB!! Many thoughts & prayers headed your way.

Wow they do have lots of activities at Vero. Never knew. But really the signage is just terrible! Very surprising.

Yes I see Anita & Marc really were getting into it.

I agree. I would have thought some Disney executive would have had the signs corrected.

Wonder what they were checking out on their little communication devices? Vero Vera sales, perhaps? :)

Okay, all caught up on the 10 or so pages since I left!

I think my next career should be a proof reader for Disney. Yup.

We have had some days in the past that they cancelled school because of the heat, but we have done okay so far this year. They say we're going to have a cold winter, so maybe we'll get some snow days in Jan and Feb. :cold:

Happy New School Year to your girls!

You've got to show us a picture of your sign!

I do hope it's easy on the labor

They all cooperated nicely, and then we were off to eat! What do you think about that lovely background???

Labor Day here is going to consist of very little labor.:

*****************************************

JillyB,
As you can see
You have lots of Distown wishes
For an easy victory! :cheer2:

Not every day do you get to see a White-faced Saki.

Well, at least the backside of one.

Rock. Leopard. Tree.

He was a fast mover.

This guy's fast was a little slower.

I asked about the name of this, and now I don't remember. Seems like it had water in it? But maybe not.

There was a group of tree-climbing zip liners.

The spider monkeys were very active, as spider monkeys usually are.

More greenery.

Iggy.

I don't know if that was his name, but every iguana is Iggy when I am talking to them. I am not very original when it comes to iguana naming.

Park maintenance.

Capybara - world's largest rodents.

What would you do?

I hope to never find out.

Although Sophie does give them a run for their money when she is on her antibiotics. ::yes::

Hello, pretty fella!

I think water birds are beautiful and interesting.

Zip lining over the gators.

Bella's favorite feathered friends.

Later in the trip, while we were at Kidani, the girls got to do a flamingo activity with the cast members. It was perfect for our mingo loving girls.

Try your hand (or mouth) at the Aussie language.

If you shout, "Shout!" does that means you are buying or you want someone to buy? I might 'shout' when we are in WDW and see if anyone comes up with a round of raspberry lemonades or root beer floats.

Dawn is probably freaking out during this feather-filled section of pictures. :scared1:

Not sure what this is. I thought maybe Indian Paintbrush, but it's not.

Not the most beautiful bird.

In Florida, if there is a pond, creek, or river, there could be a/an.....

depending on if you said alli or just gator.

Makes me want to go to Africa,

but in a nice hotel, and not on a cot out in the wild.

More turtles for our turtleful trip.

Next time, we'll finish up the zoo. Have a good rest of your Labor Day, all!

Wow that scarlet bird is beautiful!!

Yes, it is. We see more white ibis, which are native to southern US areas, and the scarlet ibis comes more from South America and the Caribbean islands.

We went to a bird sanctuary in St. Pete once, and it was fascinating to see and learn about many different birds. I'd like to do more things like that as the girls grow older. That will help them relate to the things they read about in school.

Hello, Just catching up after a wedding in Pennsylvania. Humidity like Florida, but the Bride was so happy the rains stayed away. Horrible rain on our way back through parts of Pennsylvania, better in New Jersey, no rain on Long Island yet, but there was a rain delay at the Yankee game, so guess it is on its way. That is a 3 state weather report! LOL! We had lots of happy times the past few days, as we joined my cousin in celebrating the fact that she lived to see this day, and walk her daughter down the aisle with her husband. She is a 15 year kidney transplant survivor, who is on the list again for a second replacement. She is always in our prayers.

Prayers and Pixie Dust for Jillyb. :tinker:

Love the Vero beach pictures! And most Long Island schools have not started yet. Teachers reported last week, most schools start tomorrow or Wednesday. But they go until mid to late June.

Hope everyone has found some time to enjoy life this weekend. I certainly enjoy my time on the disboards, and in particular, MeMom and company!:grouphug:
Looking forward to meeting some Disers IRL this month on the DVC Cruise!:cheer2:

The party looked like fun.
The dinner looked like fun. ROTF you stuck into your bag. That is hysterical but good for you.
Pearls go with marshmallows. LOL.
Hey I helped pave the way for the zoo. LOL
Great animal pics.
The zip lining looks like fun.
All caught up again. Have a great Labor Day.

The Capybaras are so cute! I just love rodents for some reason. I literally would be totally okay having a pet rat because I think they are cute no matter how devious the things might be.

Yay for the 'Mingos and water birds! They really are so pretty, I agree.

Agh, another snake! :scared: "Snakes, why did it have to be snakes?"

Anita had provided the pirate shirts.
What a super photo!!! :goodvibes

You can’t beat a party where Goofy shows up! :goofy:

Mickey butter.
I like it!!!

Also, I got the job! :dance3: Thank you everyone for your good thoughts and prayers! You guys are the best!
:woohoo: …….a big DISTown congrats!!!

Before I start the next update, I want to ask for good thoughts, prayers, pixie dust, or whatever you believe in for Distown's JillyB. She's going over a little pothole in the road of life healthwise right now, and she needs all the caring, comforting, encouraging support you have. I told her I could come up with a cheer for her, and that's always good for a laugh. :upsidedow Let's all let her know we're here for her as she faces the 'monster' that messes with so many of us. :thumbsup2
JillyB, thoughts and prayers are with you my friend! Hoping you face this monster and slay it quickly!

This evening, our group was headed to a bonfire/sing-along/marshmallow roast.

Marc and Anita were really getting into it.

Looks like a fun bonfire get together, and something for everyone??? :rotfl2:

Some of Anita's Disney magnets.
I really like these, and what a great way to recycle bottle caps!

On this last Vero day, we were going to Brevard Zoo. This was a new one for us, so we were excited.
Looks like another really nice zoo!

Doing my rounds at work today I stumble upon a sign obviously made by the same sign makers at Vero
Driverway? Seriously??? :confused3 :sad2:

What would you do?

You mean besides hold my nose???

Always enjoy the birds, and these are some really pretty ones! Well, the Eagle isn’t as colorful, but how can you possibly leave an eagle out………. ??? :)

Very nice zoo. Looks like there were lots of vegetation and somewhat shady. They also have great signs with lots of interesting information, not boring.

Enjoy the rest of your day off before heading back to work.

Prayers & hugs to JillyB.

S'mores, yum!! What a fun way to end an evening!

I love a zoo -- this looks like a nice one! I agree, that bright red bird is pretty cool.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. My siblings & I (minus our brother in Hawaii) rented a house in Northern Wisconsin for the weekend. It was very nice & we had a lot of fun. The boys were disappointed they didn't see a bear wandering around as we were really in the wilderness, but us girls were just fine with zero bear sightings. :)

Zip lining over the gators.

Just....why? Why not over a beautiful, lush, green forest WITHOUT gators? I really want to zip line at some point but definitely not over gators!

Dawn is probably freaking out during this feather-filled section of pictures. :scared1:

You know me so well! I will admit that I was hitting the "down" arrow rather quickly during that update. :rotfl:
