My DN is getting married in Feb, 2012 and we are looking for any advice on Salon's or even a full service Spa's. And how did spray tan work in a wedding dress and for us bridesmaids in light dresses. We really need some help with all the details. TIA for any help...:worship:

We are using Mandara Spa and the Swan and Dolphin. I haven't used them before but I've heard really good things!
As far as hair goes, there are many companies that you can hire to come to the room the day of the wedding. A very popular one here is Beaute Speciale.
I'm not crazy about the spray tanning, so I chose not to do it. For me, the color never comes out how I hope it to :)

I dont know anything about the tanning, sorry:confused:
As far as salons Disney should have provided you with a list of cosmetologists that go to the resorts and do everything you need. All you need to do is let them know in advance what you want so they can estimate when to be there to get everything on time. You don't have to use them, but it is convenient to have someone go to you instead of you going to them. As for pampering before the wedding the Grand Floridian has a great spa! Nice and relaxing!

I hope this helps!

for hair and make-up a lot of girls use someone that will come to their room. Makes it a lot easier since you don't need to worry about having a car to get there. We used Beaute Speciale and were all really pleased. Patricia LeJune is also really popular and does great work.

For nails, we went to Magic Nails two days before the wedding, it was a little cheaper than getting them done on Disney property and I thought they did a great job. You'd need a car to get there though.

I don't have experience with spray tanning, but I would have been afraid of it rubbing off on my dress. I think you can do the airbrushing which is more expensive but better quality. I did go tanning once before the wedding but got really burnt, just on my back, so I would really just avoid doing any of that stuff. I still look at the pictures and wish I had not bothered, but I had seen an old coworker's wedding pics and she looked so beautiful and tan.... oh well, what I get for being vain I guess!

Thanks for the advice on airbrushing ill look into it.:thumbsup2 As far as having a car we are all driving from Michigan so we will have are own cars to get around. Im sure we will get a list of styles but my DN just sent in her contract so we are VERY new to all of this. But we would want someone to come to us. Do they have someone for make-up? Once we get the hang of all of this im sure eveything will be great. It's Disney right!:wizard:

!

The woman who is coming to do my hair on my wedding day also recommended Magic Nails...so that's where me and the BMs will be going the day before. If memory serves me, a basic mani/pedi was only about $35... :)

i live in Orlando and one of my friends owns a custom spray tanning business - I believe she will go to the hotel and spray tan you (I'm not sure though, I'm from the Philippines and don't need to tan.... blessed with being dark). Anyway, check out her website: http://www.sunmistorlando.com/ I know she has gotten great reviews.

Also, for hair & makeup (I'm an actor) I use www.debrasdos.com - she does airbrushing for weddings and doesn't charge extra for it. So just throwing that out there as well.

Both Beaute Speciale and Patricia LeJune do hair and make-up. The good thing is a lot of girls on here have used either of them and you can see pics of their work and read reviews of their experience. :thumbsup2

We really liked Magic nails. The salon was really nice and they did a great job. I am also really picky about my nails, since we have so many great cheap nail places at home.

How early in advance did you need to book a reservation at the Mandara Spa? I am interested in booking an appointment for a manicure and pedicure there the day before my wedding (8 months from now). Just wondering when I should book that....

Where is Magic Nails? Definitely a good price and I think I might want to use them for my 40th Anniversary Celebration in 2012.
TIA
