Just wanted to do a quick update.
We closed on our house and I love it! DH did a great job picking it out! It is such a quiet, nice neighborhood. At night there are always kids playing in the road, riding bikes, families out together etc. We went for a bike ride around our neighborhood and did not pass one car! Our neighbors are very nice too!
I was offered a teaching job, which is very exciting! While we had money to get us through if we needed it, I didn't want to use it. It is a huge relief knowing that we will have money coming in shortly.
The process of getting a job was kind of funny. It was my first interview and I felt like I had not done well. They asked me about classroom management strategies and my mind went blank. When I got to the car of course I could think of tons of strategies! DH had come with me to the interview and waited in the car. He looked in the rearview mirror and said "There is a man walking towards our car." It was the principal and he was coming out to offer me the job!
I had an interview two days later at another school and he asked me if he offered me the job on the spot if that would change my mind about interviewing elsewhere. It was exactly the kind of school I would love to teach at! Very community oriented, nice people who were willing to help!
Now we just need to find DH a job and we'll be set. The reality is we can survive just fine on my income, but we would be able to have more freedom with his added income!
