Had a Bad Day - July 7 to July 20 2006

You forgot to tell them that I left my magical bucket hat on Maelstom:eek: now anything can happen to me. Fire, theft, flood, strange women licking food and putting it back on the buffet:confused: See I told you they were magic. If I had my hat that wouldn't have happened.

I'm loving your report. We were there at the same time as you were!

Oh! How could I forget! Yes, you left the bucket hat that *I* bought you for MOTHER'S DAY on Maelstrom! Yes, anything bad that happened on the trip will now be blamed on you! *LOL*

Really? Where did you stay?

Boardwalk! It was fantastic!

Loving your report. With your Mother out here also, it is like we are there hearing a conversation between the two of you.

We left POR the day you arrived. I like your idea of wearing black this year on the day you left. I won't get to go back until 2008.

We left our home town in the same size airplane as you did. It was my DS8 (7 at the time) first time on a plane.

Can't wait to read the rest. We are expecting an ice storm tomorrow, so I plan to be on the boards all day. Give us some more and love the pictures also!:goodvibes

Oops! I totally forgot that you bought me that hat for mother's day. Sorry

*LOL* It's okay, you borrowed one of Sister's and were thus protcted from fire, flood and famine. Now, on to pictures!

We were up early today, around 8. We had breakfast in the dining room, then it was off to Universal Studios.

First up was Terminator 2-3D. It was an incredible 3D show, probably the best I’ve ever watched. Not only was it 3D, there was real actors too. The Boy likes Terminator, but I don’t think he had his 3D glasses on for most of it.:3dglasses

Next was ET, which was really neat. You went through the entire ride on a flying bicycle. As a child, I was horribly traumatized by ET. Actually, he scared the crap out of me. :scared1: The ride wasn’t scary though. *LOL*

Then we went to watch the Horror Make-up Show. A man named Mark James (who does make-up and creatures for horror movies) put on the show. It was quite interesting. He was very funny, and we got to see some of the tricks they use in horror films. He wanted a volunteer, and I waved frantically, but no dice. Outside the show, I also got to touch the actual carriage from “Van Helsing.” I was quite happy to touch something that was touched by Hugh Jackman.

After the show, we went and checked out Feival’s Playland. We cooled down in some sprinklers and The Boy did a mini raft ride. We also did the Woody Woodpecker coaster while we were there. Then we went and had lunch.

Lunch was at International Food and Film Festival. The food was very good. I had penne and meatballs. I don’t recall what anyone else had. Possibly pizza...

After lunch, we did Back to the Future, which was AMAZING! You climb into the car and chase the bad guy through time. It was really neat, but quite violent. My neck was sore afterwards, and I felt slightly sick. I rode on a very full stomach. Penne and meatballs was a bad choice...:crazy2:

Then, we split up. Darrin, Sister and I went to Beetlejuice’s Rockin’ Graveyard Review, and Mom and The Boy went to Curious George’s Water Park. Mom should have came with Sister and I (musical’s are not really Darrin’s thing), but I think she was afraid if she sent him and The Boy off alone, we would never see them again. Anyways, the show was awesome, with really good music. I think The Boy would have even enjoyed it, so next time, we’ll all go.

After we found Mom, and managed to drag The Boy out of the water park, we went to Jaws, which we did in the pouring rain. Before we did Jaws, we went and got pictures and autographs from 2 giant aliens. I mean, like 12 feet tall huge!

Then it was Earthquake. You get into a subway car, then the earthquake hits. There’s a flood, and fire, then a oil truck crashes through the ceiling and there is a big explosion and more fire. It was pretty amazing.

Next up was Revenge of the Mummy. This is a roller coaster, and was on my must-see list. However, The Boy didn’t want to do it, so I instantly chickened out and volunteered to stay with him. ;) So, the other three put all of their stuff in the locker, Mom gave me her watch and told us to look around the nearby shops.

Well, that lasted all of 2 minutes. The shops were not very interesting. The Boy asked if we could go do Jaws, but it was too far away. I suggested Twister, which was very close by. The Boy agreed, so off we went. :ssst: We were back long before the others were finished, so we checked out The Mummy gift shop.

The others arrived with rave reviews about the ride. Mom said it would not have scared me at all (remember, this is what she said about Space Mountain  ). Mom says “Why don’t we do Twister again?” The Boy and I exchange grins, and agree. So, Sister, The Boy and I go sit on the sidewalk while Mom and Darrin get the stuff from the lockers. We’re goofing around, and exchange bucket hats. Sister has The Boy’s and says,
“Did it rain?”
“No. Why?” I reply.
“Because The Boy’s hat is wet.”
The Boy takes his hat back and tells her she is imagining things. :rolleyes1 Anyways, we went and did Twister, and The Boy and I confessed afterwards.

Lastly, we did the Jimmy Neutron ride, which was pretty good. Yet agin, quite violent for a kid’s ride. Well, that was it for the day, so we headed out.

Supper tonight was at the Las Vegas Buffet, which was VERY good, with a really big selection. It even had stuff Sister and The Boy would eat! We had a very nice waitress as well. After we got back to the hotel, we went swimming. I believe that was it for the night...

Tomorrow is Animal Kingdom!:simba:
