Guides must give advice....

He NEVER once mentioned the availability of resale contracts with less than 150 points.

Here's a question: suppose you tell your waiter that you want the steak, but 18oz might be too much food. Would you expect him to tell you that you could get a 12oz steak for $10 less at the restaurant down the street?

Of course not!

We just bought, earlier this month on our visit.

Our guide explained resales, that people do it, and we could either sell our contract later, or buy through that, if we chose to. He followed that up with the benefits of buying through Disney directly.

He did do the "where do you want to stay, how big of a room, when and what view?" deal, but also explained about banking/borrowing points. He asked how often we wanted to go to Disney and based what he recommended on that. He went deeply into the other locations since I was very interested in those as well.

We ignored what we wanted and looked at the price. What will our monthly payments be and how many points can we afford? That is what we based our purchase on-not on what we overall wanted. So, we made our guide run a few scenarios until the dollar figure came out reasonable. Sure, we would love to have more points (most people would!),but we can afford what we purchased.

He was a very good guide, very patient and answered my 90,000 questions. It took over three hours due to all our questions...with a one year old in that little room! :goodvibes He really wanted to make sure we understood and went away confident in our decision. It was an excellent process!
